The introduction of smartphone caused the most revolutionary change in the domestic telecommunications market after the digital revolution. However, due to the saturation of the local market, it is expected to post negative growth in 2016 and the sales of national communication carriers is in stasis. Thus, the smartphone industry is starting to shift its marketing efforts to secure the silver generation who still has room for increase in the rate of smartphone usage. As the silver generation has physical limitations and differences in needs, the marketing strategy based on the smartphone utilization is not appropriate. This study suggests the new silver generation, who has high income level and similar characteristics to the younger generation, as the new customer segment for smartphone. We analyze the effects of the major variables of UTAUT on smartphone use, as well as examine how these relationships differ between the new silver and the net generation. We verified the hypotheses using a survey with 309 smartphone users. The research findings supported the hypotheses regarding the effects of performance expectancy, effort expectancy and facilitating conditions on smartphone use, but did not support the hypothesis on the effect of social influence. The result of the group comparisons showed that both generation have similar characteristics on innovativeness and cognitive absorption, but the moderating effect of age on performance expectancy, effort expectancy and use is stronger in conjunction with the new silver generation. The study results are expected to be used in establishing a marketing strategy for the new silver generation.

In this paper, we propose a design of microwave motion detector using X-band doppler radar sensor to minimize the power consumption. To minimize the power consumption and implement battery operated system, pulse input with 2 KHz, 4% duty cycle is exerted on the doppler radar sensor. In order to simplify the process of working with ATmega2560 microcontroller unit, Arduino compatible board is designed and implemented. Arduino is open source hardware and many library software is published as open source tools. Smartphone app is also proposed and designed as a real-time user interface of the motion detector. The SQLite database on the Android mobile operating system is used for recording raw data of motion detection for post-processing job, such as fast Fourier transform (FFT). Bluetooth interface module is implemented on the motion detection board as a wireless communication interface to the smartphone. The speed of human movement is identified by post-processing FFT.

In this paper, we introduce the definition and concept of trusted reality (TR) technology, which is a new paradigm that is required as human communication methods change into "see-thru communication." The trends related to a TR-see-direct interface, TR-privacy, a TR-physical/cyber object/service connection, and TR-open platform technology as core technologies for realizing TR are also introduced. In addition, we present a new ICT stream that can be used to build a new ICT ecosystem for the post-smartphone era.

The advancement of information and communication technology have brought the increase and the diversification of the digitalized information, which can be shared at any time from any place. Especially, with the recent spread of smartphone usage, the amount and the diversity of information have increased to amounts that are difficult to quantify. Within such an era of accelerated accumulation and diversification of digitalized information, the informatization of universities is becoming a critical factor for institutional advancement. Thus, universities are developing smartphone applications to provide easily accessible administration services, and support the information needs of each administration process by keeping a relationship with students from admission to post-graduation. This research systematically defines a university smartphone application, distinguishes its system quality factors, and studies the effects they have on satisfaction, intention of reuse, and intention of electronic word-of-mouth. The results showed that the security factor of system quality did not have a significant effect on satisfaction. The responsiveness and the empathy factors of service quality did not show a significant effect on satisfaction. Moreover, it was found that a higher user satisfaction for smartphone applications has a significant influence on intention of reuse and on the intention of electronic word-of-mouth.

Based on the capabilities of smartphone cameras which have developed rapidly in recent decades, coupled with and the global market penetration rate, it will study the possibility of various international exchanges through smartphone filmmaking. This aims to achieve a civilian-oriented cultural exchange, instead of simply providing capital-oriented exchanges and film production education. The Smartphone Film Workshop was held as an auxiliary event of the Korea-Vietnam Film Festival, which ran from November 17 to 22, 2017. The three-day workshop, which took place within the festival period, drew attention for its international collaboration project between Korean film directors and Vietnamese film students. The researcher conducted practical-based research while participating as a mentor at this workshop. A step-by-step approach to the entire process of production and post-production was administered, including workshop team composition, scenario, and pre-production in Korea such as shooting equipment, schedule, completion of local works, and screening. Through an analysis of exchange cases at international workshops, we will use trial and error as ways to improve and consider the results of cultural exchanges and the effects of future expectations. Taking this empirical case study into account, we anticipate more active international exchanges through the smartphone workshops.

Increasingly important UI(user interface) on the digital media era, and increasing awareness about the user experience. In this study, by considering these realities, what impact smartphone UI experience, this product attitudes and purchase intentions you want to check. First, the findings of the smartphone UI experience influence on product attitudes of the smartphone was confirmed. Second, the smartphone's UI experience was confirmed also in the purchase of smartphones that partially affects. Finally, attitudes were identified as affecting the purchase of products for smartphones. The results of this study, the strategies suggest the need for consideration of future marketing strategy for smart phones smartphone's UI experience. Especially valuable experience for the smartphone-focused marketing strategy, such as the administration of post-A/S system, ie, around experience than are necessary. Finally, in order to improve the consumer's purchase decision more than anything that can enhance the positive attitude of consumers for its products marketing strategies are necessary.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop video assisted education on bowel preparation for colonoscopy (VEBPC) and use a snartphone to evaluate effects of the VEBPC. Methods: Adult patients who were scheduled for colonoscopy were recruited from a university general hospital and randomly assigned to three groups. Group 1 (n=30) watched the video using a computer set in the endoscope consulting room. Group 2 (n=29) watched it using a smartphone, and group 3, the control group (n=29) received education with existing instructions at the reservation-reception desk. Participants were evaluated on knowledge on taking bowel preparation agents and diet, compliance on taking bowel preparation agents and diet, satisfaction with education, and actual level of bowel preparation. Results: Group 1 and 2 showed significantly (p<.001) higher scores for knowledge, compliance, and satisfaction compared to the control group. However, in post-hoc test analyses there were no significant differences in these variables between group 1 and 2. No significant difference was found in the actual level of bowel preparation among the three groups. Conclusion: Findings from this study show that VEBPC using smartphone is a better option than existing educational methods. However, replication studies are necessary to confirm these findings.

The purpose of the study is to verify whether literature therapy program for prevention of smartphone addiction is effective for adolescents. The subjects of this study were 150 students of J City, K middle school. After completing the program, they were conducted post-test for both the experimental and control groups. The study found that the program was effective in mitigating smartphone addiction but not in reducing the directed life problem. It was also found to be effective in reducing tolerance and loss of control and problems of withdrawal and emotional experience. The study suggests that institutional arrangements are needed for linking with related organizations in the region because it is difficult to effectively prevent the increasing problem of smartphone addiction unless an adolescents program for youth is linked to the school. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct parent education for prevention of smartphone addiction in computer curriculum of school subjects.

Purpose: This study is an investigation of the effects of long-term smart phone usage and of stretching on muscle stiffness, concentration, and visual acuity. Methods: Forty healthy young adults voluntarily participated in the study and were measured for muscle stiffness, concentration, and visual acuity before smartphone usage and after 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes of smartphone usage. The participants were randomly allocated to the intervention group (n=20) and the control group (n=20). Five minutes after the stretching exercise and eye exercise intervention, the participants were remeasured. Results: After long-term smartphone usage, increases in muscle stiffness and concentration were statistically significant (p<0.05), whereas decreases in visual acuity were statistically significant (p<0.05). After the stretching exercise and eye exercise intervention, muscle stiffness significantly decreased (p<0.05) and visual acuity significantly increased (p<0.05). Concentration, according to the stretching exercise and eye exercise intervention, showed no significant pre- or post-test difference. Conclusion: The results from this study indicate that long-term smartphone usage effectively improved concentration but increased muscle stiffness and decreased visual acuity. Appropriate stretching and eye movement during long-term smartphones usage should mitigate the effects on muscle stiffness and visual acuity. Furthermore, smartphones should be considered an effective tool for concentration training when coupled with the development of appropriate applications.
