n-Hexane and benzene are organic compounds which have been widely used as industrial solvents. However, they are also increasingly recognized as important pollutants in working environment. The purpose of this study is tp analyze neurotoxicity of benzene and n-hexane. In this study, tibial nerve of Sprague-Dawley rats were observed after exposing them to two different concentrations of these compounds (6000 ppm of n-hexane and 2000 ppm of benzene) which were known to be the levels to cause subacute toxicity for the three different periods; two weeks, four weeks, and six weeks. The following results were obtained from the analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple comparison test, and regression analysis: 1) Myelin sheath thickness of nerve fiber for two n-hexane exposed groups (four weeks and six weeks) were both reduced compared with the control group and the benzene exposed group. 2) There were positive relationships between nerve fiber diameter and myelin sheath thickness for both exposed and control groups. 3) There was no significant difference in myelin sheath thickness from equal diameter nerve fibers between benzene exposed group and control group, but the greater number of thin myelin sheath were observed for n-hexane exposed group compared with control group. Thus, it is concluded that n-hexane tends to reduce the rate of growth of nerve fiber more than the benzene and control group. While these results shed light on understanding the effects of benzene and n-hexane, the duration of exposure was not long enough to apply these results to real working environments. In addition, to further understand the mechanims of nerve degeneration caused by organic solvents, both epidemiological and biochemical studies should accompanied by this kind of study.
Objective: To find the relevant stress factors of male and female employees. Method: The survey was collected from April 7th to May 10th in 2006 by formalized questionnaires targeted on male and female employees. The research used both quota sampling and accidental sampling to collect the data. Results: 1) It was found that relevant factors are related with ages in general traits for male employees and associated with ages, marital status and education level in general traits for female employees. In other words, age is the primary factor for both male and female employees at age 20s, and as the marital status is single and the education level is lower, the stress level is higher for female employees. 2) Occupation is the main relevant stress factor for male employees in employment traits and the period of employment, working hour and wages are relevant stress factors to the level of stress for female employees. That is to say, manufacture related job shows higher level of stress than other jobs for both male and female employees. As period of employment and working hour is shorter and wages are less, it appears to be high stress level for female employees. 3) It presents that stress level is decided based on if he exercises regularly or keeps regular hours for male employees in lifestyle aspect and it also shows drinking is an additional relevant stress factor to conclude the level of stress for female employees. So to speak, as the regular exercise is performed and regular hours are kept, it comes out low level of stress for both. In addition, it shows lower stress level from the group of female employees who do not drink than the other. Conclusion: The research is summarized that no matter what gender you are, both male and female employees should try to have a positive lifestyle. Specially, the research concludes that the regular exercise is the best way to get rid of stress.

The research aims to investigate the impact levels of determinants on the loyalty of accountants to FDI firms underlying investment management in Thanglong Industrial Park in Hanoi, Vietnam. We conducted a questionnaire consisting of 31 observation variables with a 5-point Likert scale. Independent variables were measured from 1 "without effect" to 5 "strongly". The method of data collection was done through the survey and subjects are accountants in FDI firms doing business in Thanglong Industrial Park in Hanoi. After checking the information on the votes, there are 120 questionnaires with full information for data entry and analysis, This study employs Cronbach's Alpha test, and regression model. The results show that seven determinants including Working environment, The characteristics of working; Training, promotion prospects and development; Income, Personal characteristic, Collective work together and The method of leading had positive relationships with the loyalty of accountants. Based on the findings, some recommendations are given related to such determinants to improve the loyalty of accountants of FDI firms in general and FDI firms in Thanglong Industrial Park in Hanoi in particular. With which, those firms can enhance performance, reduce financial strain, saving on investment in the recruiting process of new staff, increase profitability to ensure investment management.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the stress, dietary habits, dietary behaviors, and health-related behavior of nurses. Method: The subjects of this study were 161 nurses studying at a cyber university. The general characteristics, stress, dietary habits, dietary behaviors, and health-related behavior of the subjects were surveyed using a self-administered questionnaire in October, 2010. The subjects were divided into two groups according to the working pattern: shift workers (n = 110) and non-shift workers (n = 51). Results: In the general characteristics, there were significant differences in marriage, monthly income, employment type, and job satisfaction between the two groups. Total stress score did not differ significantly between the two groups. In dietary habits, significant differences in meal regularity, skipping meals, skipping reasons, having regular mealtimes, frequency of snack and the snack time between shift workers and non-shift workers (p<0.05). Total score of dietary behaviors in shift workers was significantly lower than that in non-shift workers (p<0.05). Score of shift workers in taking three meals per day regularly was significantly lower than that of non-shift workers. In health-related behavior, a significant difference in sleeping time was observed between shift workers and non-shift workers. Dietary behavior showed negative correlation with shift work (r = 0.176) and positive correlation with health consciousness (r = 0.210) and perceived health status (r = 0.198) in subjects after adjustment for age, marriage, monthly income, and employment type (p < 0.05). Multiple regression analysis revealed that shift work, health consciousness, and perceived health status affected dietary behavior in subjects. Conclusion: These results indicate that shift working nurses had poor dietary habits and dietary behaviors, and these dietary behaviors are affected by their shift work, health consciousness, and perceive health status.
Sixteen pigs from 2 distinct genetic lines (LGAH and VFIL) obtained after eight generations of divergent selection for high (H) and low (L) lean tissue growth rate with ad-libitum feeding (LGA) and voluntary feed intake (VF1), respectively, were used in this study. The objectives of this investigation were to establish appropriate working conditions for the postheparin plasma lipoprotein lipase (LPL) assay and to study relationships between fat deposition and plasma lipids, very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) lipids, VLDL-subfractions and postheparin plasma LPL activity in growing pigs. Four preliminary experiments were performed to determine the appropriate working conditions for the postheparin plasma LPL assays. Postheparin plasma preincubated with SDS (20-50 mM) at $26^{\circ}C$ for 45 minutes inhibited hepatic lipase activity. A total of $2{\mu}l$ VLDL/assay produced maximum stimulation of LPL activity. Postheparin plasma protein and increasing incubation time contributed an optimum response. LGAH pigs had a significantly higher proportion subtraction 2 than VFIL pigs. No differences were observed in postheparin plasma LPL activity and backfat thickness for two lines of pigs. There were positive correlations between backfat thickness and proportion of subtractions 2 and postheparin plasma LPL activity but the results were not statistically significant. Backfat thickness was not statistically correlated with proportion of subtraction 2 and postheparin plasma LPL activity in a multiple regression analysis. It is believed that the apolipoprotein E, which is present in higher quantities in VLDL-subfraction 2 plays an important role for clearing VLDL triacylglycerol into adipose tissue. LPL activity of pigs can be measured by using postheparin plasma technique. If the relationships of backfat thickness and VLDL-subfraction 2 and postheparin plasma LPL activity can be established, it suggests that these parameters could be used as indicators in selection programmes. Further experiments need to be conducted by using larger sample size and different breed of pigs with greater differences in backfat thicknesses to confirm these trends.
The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy of child care and the education and the influence of job-stress on job-satisfaction of child care and education teachers. 172 child care and education teachers were chosen from 40 child care centers located in Incheon, Gyeonggido, and Seoul. Data were collected using the efficacy of child care and education index, the job-stress instrument, and the job-satisfaction instrument, and were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA(Duncan test), correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. There were significant differences in child care and education teacher's job-satisfaction according to the teacher-related variables, including the type of institution, the number of classes, the age of children, the education, the teaching experience, the income, the age of teacher, and the marital status of the teacher. Correlation analysis indicated that the teacher's efficacy of child care and education and the job-satisfaction had significant correlations, especially the satisfaction of job itself indicated high positive correlations. Job-stress and job-satisfaction of the child care and education teachers had significant negative correlations in all sub-variables, especially the stress from the working environment and the satisfaction of administration system indicated high negative correlations. It was also found that stress from the working environment, stress from the overload, stress from the peer relations, and the efficacy of child care and education were all significant predictors of the child care and education teacher's job-satisfaction.
This study was intended to investigate the characteristics of ride vibrations transmitted to tractor operator during rotary tillage and plowing operations. Seat accelerations of a 41 ps diesel tractor in rotary tillage and plowing were measured and evaluated as specified in the ISO 2631-1. Effects of working speed and tilling depth on ride vibration were investigated. The level of ride vibration was also evaluated in terms of health guidance caution zones. Some of the results of the study are as follows: 1. The level of ride vibration in plowing was about 4.3 times greater than in rotary tillage. 2. The effect of working speed in rotary tillage differs depending upon the tillage depth. The level of ride vibration was increased with the speed, but it decreased over a certain tillage depth. Fore and aft vibration was 2.2-2.7 times severer than horizontal and vertical vibrations. Dominant frequency band was 1-3.15 ㎐ in fore and aft, 1-3.15㎐ and 16-25㎐ in horizontal, and 16-25㎐ in vertical directions. 3. Plowing reduced the ride vibration by 42.8-50.2%. But its positive effect decreased as the plowing speed increased. In plowing operation, ride vibration was similar degrees in fore and aft, horizontal and vertical directions. The dominant frequency band in plowing operation was 1-2.5㎐ in fore and aft, 1-2.5㎐ in horizontal, and 1-8㎐ in vertical directions. 4. On a basis of daily work hours of 4, total level of ride vibrations in plowing operation is likely to be harmful to operator's health.

The purpose of this study was to classify the types of salespeople in the apparel stores. A questionnaire was administered to 267 fashion sales related persons in apparel store in downtown, Daegu. Data were analyzed by using frequency, i-test, cluster analysis, MANOVA, ANOVA and Duncan test by using J.M.p(v.2.01) Mac. program and SAS for windows(v. 6.02) PC program. The results of this study were as follows: The types of salespeople were classified into 4 types: "complaining type as a salespeople", "sensitive type for other affairs than their duty", "satisfying as a salespeople" and "performance reaction type". There were significant differences in academic background, selling apparel type/apparel store type, and in all factors in job satisfaction/dissatisfaction, attitude toward working condition, customer type, and selling training by the different types of salespeople. Complaining type as a salespeople were dissatisfied with most items related with job attitude and showed negative response as salespeople. Sensitive type for other affairs than their duty responded more keenly to other affairs than their duty and showed the highest dissatisfaction on the job dissatisfaction factors, and showed the most emotional reaction on attitude toward working condition, customer type, and regulation. Satisfying type as salespeople showed the positive and active attitude for their job. Performance reaction type were satisfied with their job as salespeople only when their performance is tangible as sales increases and showed highest satisfaction only on the job satisfaction factors. The necessity of professional training was shown in all types of salespeople.g was shown in all types of salespeople.
With increasing of communication technology in cyber-space, the space of consumer complain behavior moved from off-line to on-line, so called anti-site. No researches, however, really have done how the anti-sites worked for promoting consumer rights through consumer complain behaviors in cyber space. The purpose of this research was to give some suggestions for activating anti-site for promoting consumer rights. For this purpose, questionnaire on-line survey was conducted from April, 12 to 24, 2004. And 143 samples, who were visiting anti-site during survey period, were selected. Main findings were as following: First, visitors had rather positive confidence with informations in anti-sites. Second, visitors thought that anti-sites were working rather well in implementing consumer movement by sharing their experiences, and by supporting complaining space in cyber. Visitors, however, thought that anti-sites were not working well as a space for companies, not by giving their attentions on consumers' complains. Third, the satisfaction level of visitors was found to be rather high in terms of informations in anti-sites, and to be rather low in terms of companies' attentions on anti-sites and management of anti-sites. Based on results, some suggestions of activating anti-site for promoting consumer rights were as following: First, visitors should not only get information, but support new and useful informations for others. And also it was suggested that visitors should join consumer movement through anti-site actively. Second, companies should pay attentions on anti-sites for their sake because anti-sites could give very useful information improving customer satisfaction, and finally reducing cost and increasing profit.
This study was performed to investigate nurses’ perception for nutrition education. The subjects of this study were 197 nurses and 94 nursing assistants working at hospitals in the Kyung-nam area. The survey was conducted by using a self-administered questionnaire in November, 2001. The results were as follows : Sixty-seven point seven percent of the subjects were nurse, 32.3% were nursing assistant. Average age of subjects was 26.9 years old, average nursing experience was 5.7 years, and 70.7% of the subjects graduated from a junior college. The average nutrition knowledge score was 14.3$\pm$2.5 out of possible 20 points. Seventy-four point two percent of the subject responded that nutrition education is very necessary for patient, and positive responses in the nurse were higher than that nursing assistant(p<0.001). Only 8.6% of the subjects had nutrition education training. The perceptions about a suitable person for nutrition counseling and nutrition education indicated dietitian(69.3%) and nurse(21.3%). Fifty-two point eight percent of the subjects responded that they would not participate in nutrition education themselves and the main reason for this was that they believed lack of expert knowledge(43.4%), and that such courses should be taught by specialist(40.5%). Forty-eight point eight percent of subjects had nutrition counseling experience for patient, and nurses, married nurses and those over 2 years of nursing careers had significantly higher nutrition counseling experience for patient than nursing assistant, unmarried nurses and those under 2 years of nursing careers(p<0.05-p<0.001)
