  • TQM is a whole process of systemizing, documenting and measuring of service quality scientifically to achieve zero defects in product quality and to continue to improve the body of the product quality by itself. To have this process be improved continuously, first of all it needs to prepare an ideal environment to understand and to conform to its internal and external customers', that is every guests' and employees' expectations and demands. Then it has to be followed by the next step removing some negative aspects that could be derived from the first mentioned process The third step is to cut the cost be suitable compensation rather than an attitude trying to solve the problems in an easy way. The last essential factor for setting up TQM system is to make good use of the outstanding feature or process as it is reviewed against the superior benchmark. The purpose of this study is meet the customers' expectations and to maximize the hotel's profits by searching TQM(total quality management) strategy in hotels. To attain this research's objective, it follows these three details. Firstly, it defines TQM and its contents. Secondly, it provides the standard of hotel TQM throughout some case studies. Thirdly, it suggests TQM strategic plan in tourism hotel as one of professional management strategies. Two useful methods are used together to achieve the goal of this study. To confirm its theoretical consideration, descriptive studies by the research documents its theoretical consideration, descriptive studies by the research documents published in and out of the country is used. The other is case studies of TQM execution in real hospitality industry, which present the cases of the airline, Jefferson Memorial and the hotel. This research is targeting to demonstrate the successful TQM's exercise in a hotel industry by completing the theoretical studies and case studies on service product quality with an understanding of its importance. As it is said earlier, to lead to the successful TQM's practice, it is necessary to maintain a constant training of the employees. Secondly, it also must identify where it has to focus on to deliver a professional quality management. Thirdly, effective quality management organization needs to be build up. The manager's strong will to accomplish and the employee' active participations are the last condition to be succeed. • Recently SMEs(small and medium enterprises) in Korea have experienced severe labor shortages. In particular, college graduates avoiding SMEs are widely spotted. According to previous studies, the main causes of the evasion by college graduates are the inferior working environment and low wages. Some studies also state that SME workers experience discrimination. However, most studies have focused only on unemployment issues of the young graduates. In this research, the results of follow-up surveys on the employment status and job conditions of recent college graduates was linked as a panel data, and the performance of the graduates was analyzed. Based on the analysis, we found college graduates who are employed SMEs are likely to have their initial career fixed to the SMEs. Second, the job separation records of the young SME workers does not show positive labor market performances such as upward movements or wage increases, and the process itself turned out to be entailed frequent separation. Third, the inferior wage level at SMEs and the fact that this effect is cumulatively amplified has been a key factor for evading SMEs. Thus, it is difficult to say that the early-stage careers in SMEs are constructive in future career development. On the contrary, the early careers at SMEs result in lower labor market outcomes, and frequent job separation.

  • The purpose of study is to measure nurses' empathy levels and to examine the effects of their empathy levels on their life and job satisfaction. The questionnaire was administrated to 150 nurses working in hospitals in Busan. The questionnaire consists of three factors : empathy level, life satisfaction, and job satisfaction. Nurses are classed into two : shift work nurse and non-shift work nurse by their work type. 144 out of 150 questionnaires were used for the analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics 21. The shift work nurses with higher empathy levels showed higher job satisfaction. The non-shift work nurses with higher empathy level revealed higher life satisfaction. Interestingly, while empathy level had positive effects on shift work nurses' job satisfaction(${\beta}=.282$, p=.006), it also had impact on non-shift work nurses' life satisfaction positively(${\beta}=.252$, p=.048). As results show, nurses' life and job satisfaction were positively related to their empathy levels. Given the fact that lack of nurses' empathy often lead to conflicts with patients, in order to improve nurses' job performance, we need a new perspective of understanding the important role of empathy in nurses' job satisfaction and life satisfaction.

  • An electrochemical COD(Chemical Oxygen Demand) sensor using an electrode-surface finding unit has been constructed. The electrolyzing(oxidizing) action of copper on the organic species was used as the basis of the COD measuring sensor. Using a simple three electrode cell, organic species which has been activated by the catalytic action of copper is oxidized at a working electrode, poised at a positive potential. A novel modification of the above method allowed for extended use of the electrode, in which the action of the electrode is regenerated by an electrode-surface grinding unit. When samples obtained from a wastewater treatment factory were measured, a linear correlation($r^2=0.93$) between the measured value(EOD) and $COD_{Mn}$ of the samples was observed. Overall results indicated that the electrochemical sensor with grinding unit could be applied for continuous measurements of COD in practical fields.

  • Objectives : Psychiatric staffs may experience excessive work stress, burnout, and reduced job satisfaction in clinical settings. This can increase chances of diminishing their overall working efficiency or having difficulty managing their own mental health. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of group mindfulness-based cognitive therapy(MBCT) on job stress, burnout, self-efficacy, resilience, and job satisfaction. Methods : Twenty eight psychiatric staffs who agreed to participate in the study were included. Self-report questionnaires were used to measure job stress, burnout, resilience, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction. To examine the effects of group MBCT, the scores were compared before and after MBCT. Results : Work stress and burnout scale scores were significantly decreased after group MBCT. Resilience, job satisfaction, and self-efficacy scale scores were significantly increased after group MBCT. Conclusions : In the current study, group MBCT for psychiatric staffs helped to reduce their work stress and burnout, and, as well, helped to improve resilience, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction. This suggests that, in mental health treatment settings, psychiatric staffs can improve their mental health through group MBCT. Improving mental health of psychiatric staff may also have a positive impact on their patients.
