This purpose of this study is to analyze the causal relation among constituent concepts and verify the relation among internal marketing, service quality and customer satisfaction in shipping companies. To achieve the goal of this study, the author studied literatures on internal marketing, service quality and customer satisfaction, and carried out a survey targeting people working for shipping companies and international logistics freight forwarders to make an empirical analysis. The results are as follows. It was confirmed that education and training, reward system, empowerment among internal marketing elements of a shipping company have a positive effect on the service quality and customer satisfaction of the shipping company, and the service quality of a shipping company also has a positive effect on customer satisfaction. As it can be known from these results, it would be necessary to concentrate on internal marketing of a shipping company in order to increase service quality and customer satisfaction.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of job satisfaction on the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of individual and creative behavior and to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and creative behaviors. For this purpose, a total of 300 questionnaires were distributed to public officials working in three local governments (GGun, KGun and HGun) in Jeollanam-do, and 213 surveys (71%) were used. The results of the study are as follows. First, It was shown that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation has a positive effect on creative behavior. The effect of extrinsic motivation on creative behavior is the same as the recent research flow. Second, intrinsic motivation positively affects job satisfaction, but extrinsic motivation has no statistically significant effect on job satisfaction about intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and job satisfaction. Third, in the relationship between job satisfaction and creative behavior, it was shown that job satisfaction has a positive effect on creative behavior. Fourth, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and creative behavior, intrinsic motivation has a significant influence on creative behavior through the mediation of job satisfaction. On the other hand, there was no mediating effect of job satisfaction between extrinsic motivation and creative behavior.
This research was conducted to examine the effects of cognitive and emotional empathy amongst employees, and its contribution to the enhancement of the effectiveness of an organization. Further, 'job stress' was used as the moderating value. For this purpose, examination procedures were based on theoretical ground drawn from previous research papers, and an appropriate hypothesis established. Statistical methods were also employed to obtain empirical evidence. This study consisted of four variables. The independent variable is categorised into the factors of cognitive and emotional empathy. Job stress as the moderating value as well as job satisfaction and turnover intention as members of the dependent variable. A survey was carried out targeting employees of numerous firms working in teams, and a total of 324 samples were collected and processed by the software package SPSS 21 for windows as a means to verify the set study model and hypothesis. The results of the study are as follows: The two factor of cognitive and emotional empathy did not present with any significant effects. However, cognitive empathy in relation to job stress was found to inflict negative effects. The study also found the two factors to play a significant role in asserting positive effects on an individual's level of satisfaction on his/her job. While the study further explained that cognitive understanding had the tendency to impose negative effects on the turnover intention, emotional empathy did not demonstrate significant effects. Job related stress negatively effects the level of satisfaction of an individual's given task or a job and positive relation with turnover intention. It was confirmed that job stress had a degree of intermediary role upon other factors such as empathy, job satisfaction and turnover intention. The results of the study purported that empathy can raise the level of an individual's job satisfaction and kerb turnover intention. In order to accomplish depreciated levels of job related stress, it is vital that firms consistently input fervent endeavours to be subserved. It must be able to create an environment wherein employees may enjoy the improved structure of the company to empathies with each other. These transitions would allow firms to achieve maximum efficiency and improvements on the effectiveness of an organization.
Purpose : This study aimed to examine the effects of empowerment of the paramedics on critical thinking and provide the basic materials for the qualitative improvement of emergency medical service. Methods : This study collected data with the paramedics working at general hospital and hospital emergency room in G metropolitan city, B metropolitan city, U metropolitan city, D metropolitan city and J province from July 1 to 31, 2008. Total 180 questionnaires were collected and 152 were used for final analysis, and the following results were obtained through statistical analysis using SPSS 12.0 program. Results : 1) Average score of empowerment was 4.44 out of 6 and according to average score by areas, significance was 4.94, capacity 4.92, self-determination 4.28, and effective-ness 3.62. 2) Empowerment by general characteristics was statistically significant in age (F = 3.313, p < 0.05), the final scholastic attainments(F = 2.436, p < 0.05), and salary(F = 1.695, p < 0.01). 3) Average score of critical thinking was 3.12 out of 7 and according to scores by areas, maturity was highest as 3.71, followed by no prejudice as 3.70, systemicity as 3.14, pursuit of truth as 3.05, much curiosity as 2.93, critical thinking and self-confidence as 2.92, and analysis as 2.91. 4) Critical thinking by general characteristics was statistically significant in marital status (F = 15.695, p < 0.01) and the final scholastic attainments (F = 2.606, p < 0.05). 5) Correlations between empowerment and critical thinking showed positive correlations as Pearson's correlation coefficient r = 0.400 and positive correlation in all areas including empowerment and critical thinking were found (r = 0.116-0.710). 6) The effect of empowerment on critical thinking was statistically significant in p < 0.01 and was explained as $R^2=0.155$. In the effects of empowerment on critical thinking, significance, capacity and self-determination were statistically significant in p < 0.01, effectiveness in p < 0.05 and were explained as R2 = 0.244. Conclusion : From the above results, it was found that empowerment had the influence on critical thinking, so it was considered that hospital managers and emergency room chiefs must develop and operate education and training program based on the concept of empowerment, maintenance and management strategies.
Increasing amount of digital images requires more accurate and faster way of image retrieval. So far, image retrieval method includes content-based retrieval and keyword based retrieval, the former utilizing visual features such as color and brightness and the latter utilizing keywords which describe the image. However, the effectiveness of these methods as to providing the exact images the user wanted has been under question. Hence, many researchers have been working on relevance feedback, a process in which responses from the user are given as a feedback during the retrieval session in order to define user’s need and provide improved result. Yet, the methods which have employed relevance feedback also have drawbacks since several feedbacks are necessary to have appropriate result and the feedback information can not be reused. In this paper, a novel retrieval model has been proposed which annotates an image with a keyword and modifies the confidence level of the keyword in response to the user’s feedback. In the proposed model, not only the images which have received positive feedback but also the other images with the visual features similar to the features used to distinguish the positive image are subjected to confidence modification. This enables modifying large amount of images with only a few feedbacks ultimately leading to faster and more accurate retrieval result. An experiment has been performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model and the result has demonstrated rapid increase in recall and precision while receiving the same number of feedbacks.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the performance-oriented culture of a community welfare center on the job performance of its social workers. For that purpose, the study conducted a survey by mail with 1,162 social workers working for community welfare centers around Busan and Gyeongnam Province from January 4 to 31, 2013. Of the collected questionnaires, a total of 755 from 81 community welfare centers were used in the final analysis. This study used the SPSS 21.0, AMOS 21.0, and HLM 6.02 statistical software packages to perform data analysis for each hypothesis. The analysis results of the unconditional model of the hierarchical linear model, the unconditional random coefficient model, and the conditional model show that the job satisfaction and organizational commitment of social workers had positive (+) effects on their job performance. Secondly, customer orientation, one of the sub-elements of performance-oriented culture, had positive (+) effects on the job performance of social workers, whereas the result orientation had negative (-) effects on it. In addition, innovation orientation had no impacts on their job performance. Based on those findings, the study proposed management plans for organizational culture to enhance the job performance of social workers.

Service companies are making constant efforts to gain positive business performance such as customer satisfaction, quality improvement, and valuable management. Compared to other industries, service companies are highly dependent on workers for responding to customers and satisfying various customer needs in terms of business content and type. Thus, the attitude, given, environment, and capacity of the workers who supply service and serve customers are important factors that directly and indirectly influence customer satisfaction and performance. To enhance the performance of organizations and gain competitive advantage, it is important to provide the various forms of social support for workers as service suppliers. In this sense, active interests including the development of personal competence, support for working environment, and providing chances for the development of new services are significant. This study is a follow-up study on the influence of social support for positive psychological capital, creativity, and work performance of service workers. Among the service process matrix, this study targets the workers involved in mass service fields and seeks to examine how support for co-worker influences the performance through self-efficacy. No empirical analysis has examined workers involved in mass service fields. Thus, this study aims to take an approach different from that of previous studies and to suggest more effective human resource management strategies for enhancing the competitiveness of service companies and provide related implications.
This case study investigated the changes in speech intelligibility of patients with head and neck cancers who participated in a therapeutic singing-based intervention. Three patients received a total of twelve 30-minute individual sessions. The intervention consisted of three steps: movements for relaxing breathing muscles, vocalization for increasing the range of articulatory movements, and therapeutic singing. In order to examine the changes in speech intelligibility, the voice quality parameters, diadochokinesis (DDK) and the quadrangle vowel space area (VSA) were measured at pre- and posttest. The recording of what each patient read a written paragraph, which were transcribed by blinded assessors, were also analyzed. The results demonstrated that all of the patients showed positive changes in the voice quality, the rate of repetitive syllable production measured by DDK, and the articulatory working space measured by VSA. Along with these measured changes, increases in positive mood and rehabilitation motivation reported by the patients support that the therapeutic singing-based intervention could induce meaningful changes in terms of speech intelligibility from patients with head and neck cancers. Given that this study was conducted with a small sample size, suggestions for further investigation on the effects of the intervention were also presented.
This study was a descriptive correlation investigation that assessed the caring burden of caregivers who care for dementia and examined the effects of the burden on the somatic symptoms and health perception. The subjects were 174 caregivers and data collection was conducted from April 1 to 30, 2018. The data were analyzed t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. A Scheffe test was used for post-analysis. The caring burden and somatic symptoms were found to be mid-high and moderate, respectively. The health was perceived to be not good, and the subjective awareness of well-being appeared to be low. The caring burden showed a positive correlation with the somatic symptoms(r=.157, p<.05), and the somatic symptoms showed a positive correlation with the perceived health(r=.220, p<.01). As a result of the study, caregiving burden of caregivers showed the factors influencing their physical and mental health status, it is suggested to carry out research to find out whether there is a difference in burden of care according to the working place of caregiver. In addition, it is necessary to develop a tool to measure the burden of caregivers and to carry out repeated research.

This descriptive research investigates the knowledge of and attitude toward HIV/AIDS among individuals in their 20s to 40s. This study also analyzes the results of the 2011 and 2013 community health surveys to identify the factors influencing their knowledge and attitude. The study subjects were 20 to 49 years old, and the final analysis included 182,315 subjects. The collected data were analyzed through t-tests, ANOVA, correlational analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The survey results showed a high level of knowledge of HIV/AIDS, with 69.4% correct answers. Most individuals lacked knowledge regarding routes of infection, and those in their 20s had the lowest percentage of correct answers. As for attitude toward HIV/AIDS, 44.3% showed a negative attitude. The scores for knowledge and attitude toward HIV/AIDS were higher among males, unmarried individuals, individuals with a higher income, individuals with a higher level of education, individuals working in agriculture, forestry, or fishery, managers, professions that were not homemakers/unemployed, and professional soldiers. A positive correlation (r=0.27, p<0.001) was observed between knowledge and attitude. The factors influencing AIDS knowledge and attitude were gender, marital status, income level, occupation, and education level. This study confirmed that there is a difference by age group. As such, educational programs customized by age and other characteristics are expected to be more effective in enhancing knowledge and in developing a more positive attitude towards HIV/AIDS.
