Recently, deep learning-based image recognition systems have been adopted to various surveillance environments, but most of them are still picture-type object recognition methods, which are insufficient for the long term temporal analysis and high-dimensional situation management. Therefore, we propose a method recognizing the specific dangerous situation generated by human in real-time, and utilizing deep learning-based object analysis techniques. The proposed method uses deep learning-based object detection and tracking algorithms in order to recognize the situations such as 'trespassing', 'loitering', and so on. In addition, human's joint pose data are extracted and analyzed for the emergent awareness function such as 'falling down' to notify not only in the security but also in the emergency environmental utilizations.
Due to the limited field of view of the pinhole camera, there is a lack of stability and accuracy in camera pose estimation applications such as visual SLAM. Nowadays, multiple-camera setups and large field of cameras are used to solve such issues. However, a multiple-camera system increases the computation complexity of the algorithm. Therefore, in multiple camera-assisted visual simultaneous localization and mapping (vSLAM) the multi-view tracking algorithm is proposed that can be used to balance the budget of the features in tracking and local mapping. The proposed algorithm is based on PanoSLAM architecture with a panoramic camera model. To avoid the scale issue 3D LiDAR is fused with omnidirectional camera setup. The depth is directly estimated from 3D LiDAR and the remaining features are triangulated from pose information. To validate the method, we collected a dataset from the outdoor environment and performed extensive experiments. The accuracy was measured by the absolute trajectory error which shows comparable robustness in various environments.

In model-based tracking, an accurate 3D model of a target object or scene is mostly assumed to be known or given in advance, but the accuracy of the model should be guaranteed for accurate pose estimation. In many application domains, on the other hand, end users are not highly distracted by tracking errors from certain levels of modeling errors. In this paper, we examine perceptual tracking errors, which are predominantly caused by modeling errors, on subjective evaluation and compare them to computational tracking errors. We also discuss the tolerance of modeling errors by analyzing their permissible ranges.
Recently, research on behavior analysis tracking human posture and movement has been actively conducted. In particular, OpenPose, an open-source software developed by CMU in 2017, is a representative method for estimating human appearance and behavior. OpenPose can detect and estimate various body parts of a person, such as height, face, and hands in real-time, making it applicable to various fields such as smart healthcare, exercise training, security systems, and medical fields. In this paper, we propose a method for classifying four exercise movements - Squat, Walk, Wave, and Fall-down - which are most commonly performed by users in the gym, using OpenPose-based deep learning models, DNN and CNN. The training data is collected by capturing the user's movements through recorded videos and real-time camera captures. The collected dataset undergoes preprocessing using OpenPose. The preprocessed dataset is then used to train the proposed DNN and CNN models for exercise movement classification. The performance errors of the proposed models are evaluated using MSE, RMSE, and MAE. The performance evaluation results showed that the proposed DNN model outperformed the proposed CNN model.
In order to produce an image that lends realism to audience in the virtual studio system. it is important to synchronize precisely between foreground objects and background image provided by computer graphics. In this paper, we propose a method of camera parameter extraction for the synchronization by tracking the pose of TV camera. We derive an equation for extracting camera parameters from inverse perspective equations for tracking the pose of the camera and 3-D transformation between base coordinates and estimated coordinates. We show the validity of the proposed method in terms of the accuracy ratio between the parameters computed from the equation and the real parameters that applied to a TV camera.
In autonomous navigation of a mobile vehicle or a mobile robot, localization calculated from recognizing its environment is most important factor. Generally, we can determine position and pose of a camera equipped mobile vehicle or mobile robot using INS and GPS but, in this case, we must use enough known ground landmark for accurate localization. hi contrast with homography method to calculate position and pose of a camera by only using the relation of two dimensional feature point between two frames, in this paper, we propose a method to calculate the position and the pose of a camera using relation between the location to predict through perspective transform of 3D feature points obtained by overlaying 3D model with previous frame using GPS and INS input and the location of corresponding feature point calculated using KLT tracking method in current frame. For the purpose of the performance evaluation, we use wireless-controlled vehicle mounted CCD camera, GPS and INS, and performed the test to calculate the location and the rotation angle of the camera with the video sequence stream obtained at 15Hz frame rate.

In this paper, we describe the architectural design, unit component hardware design and core software design(Helmet Pose Tracking Software and Terrain Elevation Data Correction Software) of IHDS(Intelligent Helmet Display System), and describe the results of unit test and integration test. According to the trend of the latest helmet display system, the specifications which includes 3D map display, FLIR(Forward Looking Infra-Red) display, hybrid helmet pose tracking, visor reflection type of binocular optical system, NVC(Night Vision Camera) display, lightweight composite helmet shell were applied to the design. Especially, we proposed unique design concepts such as the automatic correction of altitude error of 3D map data, high precision image registration, multi-color lighting optical system, transmissive image emitting surface using diffraction optical element, tracking camera minimizing latency time of helmet pose estimation and air pockets for helmet fixation on head. After completing the prototype of all system components, unit tests and system integration tests were performed to verify the functions and performance.

In the field of computer vision and robotics, bin picking is an important application area in which object pose estimation is necessary. Different approaches, such as 2D feature tracking and 3D surface reconstruction, have been introduced to estimate the object pose accurately. We propose a new approach where we can use both 2D image features and 3D surface information to identify the target object and estimate its pose accurately. First, we introduce a label detection technique using Maximally Stable Extremal Regions (MSERs) where the label detection results are used to identify the target objects separately. Then, the 2D image features on the detected label areas are utilized to generate 3D surface information. Finally, we calculate the 3D position and the orientation of the target objects using the information of the 3D surface.
In the field of augmented reality, edge-based methods have been popularly used in tracking textureless 3D objects. However, edge-based methods are inherently vulnerable to cluttered backgrounds. Another way to track textureless or poorly-textured 3D objects is to directly align image intensity of 3D object between consecutive frames. Although the direct methods enable more reliable and stable tracking compared to using local features such as edges, they are more sensitive to occlusion and less accurate than the edge-based methods. Therefore, we propose a method that combines an edge-based method and a direct method to leverage the advantages from each approach. Experimental results show that the proposed method is much robust to both fast camera (or object) movements and occlusion while still working in real time at a frame rate of 18 Hz. The tracking success rate and tracking accuracy were improved by up to 84% and 1.4 pixels, respectively, compared to using the edge-based method or the direct method solely.

In this paper, we propose a real-time pose estimation method for a monocular camera using a particle filter integrated with UKF (unscented Kalman filter). While conventional camera tracking techniques combine camera images with data from additional devices such as gyroscopes and accelerometers, the proposed method aims to use only two-dimensional visual information from the camera without additional sensors. This leads to a significant simplification in the hardware configuration. The proposed approach is based on a particle filter integrated with UKF. The pose of the camera is estimated using UKF, which is defined individually for each particle. Statistics regarding the camera state are derived from all particles of the particle filter, from which the real-time camera pose information is computed. The proposed method demonstrates robust tracking, even in the case of rapid camera shakes and severe scene occlusions. The experiments show that our method remains robust even when most of the feature points in the image are obscured. In addition, we verify that when the number of particles is 35, the processing time per frame is approximately 25ms, which confirms that there are no issues with real-time processing.
