On-road Investigation of PM Emissions according to Vehicle Fuels (Diesel, DME, and Bio-diesel) (Diesel, DME, Bio-diesel 연료가 실제 도로 주행 조건에서 입자상물질 배출에 미치는 영향 파악)

  • To measure the traffic pollutants with high temporal and spatial resolution under real conditions, a mobile emission laboratory (MEL) was designed. The equipment of the mini-van provides gas phase measurements of CO, NOx, CO2 and THC (Total hydrocarbon), and number density & size distribution measurements of fine and ultra-fine particles by a fast mobility particle sizer (FMPS) and a condensation particle counter (CPC). The inlet sampling port above the bumper enables the chasing of different type of vehicles. This paper introduces the technical details of the MEL and presents data from the experiment in which a MEL chases a city bus fuelled by diesel, DME and Bio-diesel. The dilution ratio was calculated by the ratio of ambient NOx and tail-pipe NOx. Most particles from the bus fuelled by diesel were counted under 300 nm and the peak concentration of the particles was located between 30 and 60 nm. However, most particles in the exhaust of the bus fuelled by DME were nano-particles (diameter: less than 50 nm). The bus fuelled by Bio-diesel shows less particle emissions compare to diesel bus due to the presence of the oxygen in the fuel.

  • This study aims to analyze the effect of structural Person-Organization Fit and organizational justice on organizational commitment, job satisfaction, Organizational Citizenship Behavior and employee performance. This study is based on a quantitative approach by collecting data using a survey conducted on three SOE's companies in Indonesia that operate in Makassar City, namely Pelindo. Ltd (Port Company), PLN. Ltd (Electric Company) and Pertamina. Ltd (Oil and Gas Company), with a sample of 90 employees. The study population was all non-managerial permanent employees. Data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling. In structural relations, out of the nine direct tests, there were two insignificant relationships, and in all three hypotheses there was one not-supported hypothesis. When compared between person-organization Fit and Organizational Justice, it is found that organizational justice has a more critical role in building Human Resource performance compared to Person-Organization Fit, because organizational justice is better able to provide job satisfaction and make organizational commitment and OCB as a prerequisite for its formation to better Human Resources performance. With organizational justice, employees will feel more satisfied working, committed to the work and organization, and behaves as a supportive organizational citizen for the realization of the best performance for the interests of the organization going forward.

Comparative Analysis of Wind Power Energy Potential at Two Coastal Locations in Bangladesh

  • In this study, wind conditions and its energy potential have been assessed by conducting a Weibull analysis of the wind speed data (over the period of 2002-2011) measured from a port city (Mongla) and an isolated island (Sandwip) in Bangladesh. The monthly mean wind speed at Mongla ranged from 1.60 m/s (December) to 2.47 m/s (April). The monthly values of Weibull shape parameter (k) were from 1.27 to 2.53. In addition, the values of the scale parameter (c) and the monthly wind power density ranged from 1.76 to 2.79 m/s and 3.95 to $17.45W/m^2$, respectively. The seasonal mean wind speed data varied from 1.72 (fall) to 2.29 m/s (spring) with the wind power density from 5.33 (fall) to $14.26W/m^2$ (spring). In the case of Sandwip, the results were comparable to those of Mongla, but moderate reductions in all the comparable variables were observed. The wind data results of these two areas have been compared with those of eight other locations in the world with respect to wind power generation scale. According to this comparison, the wind power generation scale for Mongla and Sandwip was adequate for stand-alone small/micro-scale applications such as local household consumption, solar-wind hybrid irrigation pumps, and battery charging.

  • Nakdong River Plain and its adjoining sea arc unusually covered by very thick soft clay sediments which were caned Pusan clays, sometimes reaching 40-70m. Since early 1990s a large number of geotechnical investigations have been carried out for land reclamation works in the area, including Busan city and its neighboring cities. Nevertheless, geotechnical engineers have paid little attention to studying geological characteristics on the clays, except some researches related to mineralogy, geo-chemistry, benthic foraminiferal fauna etc. The purpose of reserach is the knowledge of the correlation between engineering properties and mineralogy of clay sediments. The correlation analysis carry out multiple regression that have independent variables (Engineering properties) and dependent variables (mineralogy, geochemistry). Engineering properties of clay are correlated with the mineral compositions and geochemical characteristics.   • It is the developing policy of fishing village of korea that the fishermen are not to leave their fishing village by the construction of abandant and rich fishing village in the social, cultural and economic side of view. The government has promoted the project to improve the fishing and agrarian village from 1992 year, but it is not so helpful to solve the problem of the island and fishing village. Therefore, it has to improve the structure of fishing village and to develope the vital and lively fishing village, Japan had enacted the special law for the promotion of out-island which was called the law for the promotion of Ri-do isalnd, and commenced to develop the Ri-do island. The law for the promotion of Ri-do island is limited to 10 years, but it was amended 10 times and Japanese government has invested as many as budget to Ri-do isalnd during 30 years. Korean government also had enacted and enforced the special law for the promotion of out-isalnd developement referring to Japanese system. However, it is neccessary at first to improve the system that the fishing village is able to develope the fishing port in order to make higher the efficiency of investment. Moverover, the earning differentials bewteen the city and the fishing village has to decrease by the developement of transport convenience and pavement of the road of the out-isalnd and remote fishing village. Otherwise, it is requested rapidily to set up the welfare policy for the aged people because the inhabitants of fishing village become to great age, and inhabitants could be at least diagnose one time every week in the good medical facilities. The ministry of marine and fisheries has to permit the sports fishing business by the small fishing vessel in order to increase the income of inhabitants of fishing village and put a lot of the fishing reefs which are constructed to 2-3 story into the sea. And then the sports fishing business will be flourish by the small fishing vessel.

  • How does the youth feel the sea affairs\ulcorner Concerning this question, this paper aims to measure the images of the youth toward the sea affairs - the sea, the ship and the seafarer and to examined the above subject. As sample 3, 250 students of middle and high school were selected by considering geographical environment. The data obtained using Semantic Differential Method were analyzed by principal component analysis, and the obtained factor scores were examined the significance of difference between sex, age and geographical environment. By introducing the principal component analysis, the authors extracted from each of the images, that is, factors of dynamics and affection to the image on these a and the former the factors and pleasure on the ship, and also the former two factors and factor of professional evaluation on the seafarer, The following results are obtained. 1) In the image of the sea, dynamic image of the student in high school were higher than the of the student in middle school in spite of geographic environment and affective image were opposite. 2) In the images of the ship, affective image of the student in middle school and high school in inland were high than the of the male and female student in near the sea. And also, male female students in middle school and male student s in high school of inland showed the highest score to the pleasure image. 3) In the image of the seafare, professional evaluation of the female student in middle school were higher than the others, but the students in high school showed the highest score to dynamic image. Especially, in the case of the majority of students in high school living in the city or town near the, their images of the seafarer were not so good in spite of their explorative experiences about the sea affairs.

Feasibility Analysis on Slag Reprocessing Project in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR콩고 루붐바시 슬래그재처리사업(再處理事業)의 경제성(經濟性) 평가(評價))

  • One of the world's top resource-rich countries, the Democratic Republic of the Congo has ample reserves of cobalt, iron ore, copper and diamond in particular. Importing most of major mineral resources, the Republic of Korea has examined-together with the Congo government since 2008-the possibility of a project where it supports port construction in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and acquires useful minerals such as zinc, cobalt and copper in exchange through slag reprocessing in the local city of Lubumbashi. This study conducted feasibility analysis on the slag reprocessing project in Lubumbashi, Congo and found that the project's payback period stands at 6.7 years, net present value(NPV) at 34 million dollars and internal rate of return(IRR) at 17.4%. According to sensitivity analysis that takes into account uncertainties concerning taxation, fixed cost, operational cost and resource prices, the NPV of the project ranges from -24.8 million dollars to 92.7 million dollars.

Imabari Maritime Cluster: A Case Analysis of Japan Maritime Cluster (이마바리해사클러스터의 사례분석)

  • Following the collapse of Hanjin Shipping, building a strong maritime cluster is one of the policy measures for the re-construction of the Korean shipping and shipbuilding industries. Thus, the purpose of this study is to develop a policy alternative for building a maritime cluster. Using Porter's diamond models, we analyzed the Imabari maritime cluster of Japan, which is characterized by cooperation between key industries, such as shipping, shipbuilding, shipbuilding equipment, and finance. The Imabari Maritime Cluster is equipped with complete domestic demand conditions and related supporting industry conditions. Although the strengths of the production conditions include excellent family-based management and strong support from regional administration and banks which develops independency among cluster members, the weak points include the absense of robust port services and difficulty in recruiting young talent in small and medium-sized cities. We can confirm that the company's strategy is focused on stable management, rather than a short-term view.

A Study on Conservation and Practical Use of Incheon Old Town Urban Tissue (인천 구도심 도시조직의 보전 및 활용에 관한 연구: 지구단위계획의 내용과 실효를 중심으로)

  • This study reviewed details and case studies of district unit planning to preserve and develop urban tissues concerning a historic urban environment and provide implications for future practice. In particular, this case study examined the role of the district unit planning in city conservation rooted in the experience of Incheon's old town. The old town begins with the opening of Incheon Port and concessions, including Japanese, Qing Dynasty, and multinational settlements. Second, the study established land subdivision planning and reviewed the institutions to encourage urban tissue. Third, the conservation guidelines influenced the conservation and utilization of the streets, such as alleys and old coastlines, the form of parcels called deep and narrow lots, and the exterior elements of buildings. This study also derived implications for the future. First, the street with historical value in the settlement should be excavated further. Second, the parcels in the settlement limit redevelopment to maintain the unique morphological characteristics. Third, the exterior of the buildings should be provided with planning incentives to induce conservation and utilization.

A Study on the Erosion and Sedimentation Traces According to the Sea Level Changes Since the Medieval Warm Period in the Hwaseong Coast (화성 연안의 중세온난기 이후 해수면 변동에 연동된 침식·퇴적 흔적 연구)

  • In this paper, based on evidence of coastal sediment, we show that erosion and sedimentation environments are very sensitive to sea level changes during the Medieval Warm Period (MWP) and the Little Ice Age (LIA). We identified four sedimentary units(4.57-3.07m), which formed in the Dark Age Cool Period (DACP), MWP and LIA were classified based on the lithostratigraphy, grain size distribution, magnetic susceptibility and geochemistry of a drilling core taken from the west coast of Hwaseong City. The unconformity surfaces as boundaries of the units were also identified by the lithostratigraphy shown on the drilling core. We propoese that sedimentation was dominant in the area during the periods of sea level rise, whereas erosion prevailed during the periods of sea level fall. Particularly, extreme events, such as floods and typhoons are believed to have accelerated these processes, and we found the associated evidence in sediments of two units. This study provides an example of estimating the relative sea level variation using coastal sediments and may be useful for studying past sea level changes around the Korean Peninsula.
