  • 최근 이동통신기술의 발전으로 급속히 보급되고 있는 스마트폰은 GPS, 무선인터넷, 내장카메라 등의 강력한 기능을 이용하여 다양한 분야에서 사용이 확산되고 있다. 특히 복잡한 도심지 등 상에서 사용하기 편리하게 개발된 스마트폰 증강현실 어플리케이션을 대상으로 이용방법 등을 조사 분석하여 해상에 응용함으로써 상대적 작은 선박이 해상에서 간편하게 사용할 수 있는 'e-Navigation' 개념의 항로표지 기반 스마트폰 어플리케이션 개발에 관하여 논하고자 한다.

필리핀 마닐라만의 해양 교통량 통계분석 (Statistical Analysis of Maritime Traffic Volume at Manila Bay, Philippines)

  • 마닐라만은 3개의 항구가 있는 마닐라항의 집과 같다: 북항, 남항 그리고 MITC. 북항 부근과 마닐라만을 가로질러 리마오라는 어항이 있다. 이 연구는 마닐라만에서 마닐라 VTMS 원 데이터의 입출항 교통량만을 기준으로 교통량의 움직임에 집중한다. 이는 2010, 2011년 2년 동안의 교통량이다. 데이터의 표시를 교통량의 숫자로; G. T.에 의한 크기로; 낮이든 밤이든 선박 동향의 시간으로; 각 국내와 국외 각 항차 거래로 나뉜다. 양적인 수치는 모든 개체군을 기반으로 한 원 데이터로부터 계산된다. 그 결과의 수치는 통계상의 측정된 표와 그래프에 의해 나타난다. 산술평균은 개체군의 변동계수와 표준편차가 요약된 형태로 보여지는 것을 의미한다. 그렇기 때문에, 그것들은 교통량의 빈도와 양의 더 나은 그림을 보여주기 위해 해석된다. 끝으로 본 연구가 필리핀의 가장 중요한 항구의 안전성 향상에 기여하기를 기대한다.

양산항 개장에 따른 부산항의 대응전략 (The Strategies of Busan Port Related to the Opening of Yangsan Port)

  • 빠른 경제성장과 교역량의 증가에 힘입어 중국은 이제 세계에서 가장 많은 컨테이너 물동량을 처리한 국가가 되었다. 그리고 컨테이너선의 대형화와 신속화 추세에 발맞추어 동북아 주요항만이 직면하는 환경도 상당히 빠르게 변하고 있다. 상해항은 육지로부터 약 30km 떨어진 대양산과 소양산을 개발하여 2005년 말에 제1기 터미널을 그리고 2006년에 제2기 터미널을 개장하였다. 그리고 2012년까지 전체 29선석을 조성하여 1,500만 TEU를 처리할 예정으로 있다. 컨테이너 처리물량에서 부산항을 추월한 상해항은 2,006년도 연간 물동량을 약 2,170만 TEU를 처리하여 세계 제3위의 지위를 확고히 했으며, 향후 세계 제1위의 컨테이너 처리항만으로 부상할 것으로 보인다. 세계 제5위의 컨테이너 처리항만이고, 동북아 중심항만이 되고자 하는 부산항에 양산항의 개장 및 향후 개발 계획에 따른 주변 상황에 능동적으로 대처하기 위한 다양한 대응전략을 제시해 본다.

An Analysis of the Relative Importance of Modules for Vessel Traffic Services Operator Training

  • The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities(IALA) model course recommends specific aspects of basic curriculums for Vessel Traffic Services(VTS) operator education such as modules, course hours, contents, etc. Most domestic training programs for newly appointed VTS operators comply with such recommendations. The objective of this study is to determine whether such modules for VTS operator training recommended by the current IALA model course correspond to the actual opinions of VTS operators who are currently working in the field. To this end, the relative importance of basic modules for vessel traffic services operator training was analyzed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method. A questionnaire was designed to include 8 modules recommended by the IALA model course, and the survey results of 52 individuals working at 5 VTS centers were analyzed. The result showed that, unlike the assumption by the IALA, domestic VTS operators viewed Nautical Knowledge as the most important modules, followed by Emergency Situations, Traffic Management, Language, Equipment, VHF Radio, Communication Co-ordination, and Personal Attributes, in that order.

Merging of Satellite Remote Sensing and Environmental Stress Model for Ensuring Marine Safety

  • A virtual vessel traffic control system is introduced to contribute to prevent a marine accident such as collision and stranding from happening. Existing VTS has its limit. The virtual vessel traffic control system consists of both data acquisition by satellite remote sensing and a simulation of traffic environment stress based on the satellite data, remotely sensed data And it could be used to provide timely and detailed information about the marine safety, including the location, speed and direction of ships, and help us operate vessels safely and efficiently. If environmental stress values are simulated for the ship information derived from satellite data, proper actions can be taken to prevent accidents. Since optical sensor has a high spatial resolution, JERS satellite data are used to track ships and extract their information. We present an algorithm of automatic identification of ship size and velocity. It lastly is shown that based on ship information extracted from JERS data, a qualitative evaluation method of environmental stress is introduced.

A Study on the Sector Division for Effective Vessel Traffic Service : Focused on Daesan, Pyeongtaek and Inchon Harbour

  • The national VTS was launched in 1993, and has adopted a harbour-oriented control method which is unable to consider enough characteristics of its work. However, for the past 17 years, the characteristics has changed due to increased amount of vessels. Up to now the domestic Vessel Traffic Service has adopted harbour-oriented control method which is unable to consider enough characteristics of its work. However, developed countries have carried out waters-oriented control method, according to the using areas of ships, to be well considered the characteristics of control for increasing efficiency of it. Especially, VTS of Daesan, Pyeongtaek and Inchon harbour can have confusions of control because of overlapped service areas of it. Therefore, in this paper suggested a new Sector Division that the relevants waters is divided into 3 operational Regions and these are divided into nine sectors again, for the purpose of improving the efficiency and the concentration of VTS.

  • For the maritime traffic safety assessment of vessels navigating in harbor or fairway, simulation techniques by using shiphandling simulator system have been traditionally used. When designing the simulation experiments and when analyzing the simulation results, however, there has been a little systematic method. Ship-handling simulations can be regarded as a kind of statistical experiment by using ship-handling simulator system, which means that shiphandling simulation conditions should be designed statistically and that the simulation results should be statistically analyzed as well. For the safe and economic design of harbor and fairway, reasonable decisions based upon the scientific analysis of shiphandling simulation results are indispensable. In this paper, various statistical methods, such as Bayes theorem, statistical hypothesis testing, and probability distributions, are reviewed with a view to application to maritime traffic safety assessment. It is expected that more reasonable decisions on harbor and fairway design can be made from shiphandlers' view point by using statistical methods.

Analysis of Requirements for New Aids-to-Navigation Service - Focusing on Ship Operator

  • With digitalization accelerated by the 4th industrial revolution, the marine traffic environment is also expected to change rapidly. The purpose of this study was to derive a new service for Aids to Navigation (AtoN) to respond to a new marine traffic environment and suggest service requirements from the perspective of the ship's operator. For this purpose, a survey of ship operators was conducted and IPA analysis was performed. Marine traffic intelligence and information services and Image-based ocean environment information services were deduced as high-priority services from the perspective of ship operators. Thus, the derived results can serve as basic data for developing new AtoN services and determining policy directions.

부산광역시 하나로교통카드 이용실태 및 효과분석에 관한 연구 (Utilization Condition and Effects of HANARO Traffic Card at Pusan Metropolitan City)

  • Pusan Metropolitan City has developed 'HANARO Card' system. It is a sort of multi-function card systems which has devised to resolve many traffic problems, to improve public transportation services, to build advanced transit information systems, to encourage reasonable operation of the public transit companies, and to obtain basic informations for devising transportation policies. This study aims at reviewing the systems of 'HANARO Card', analysing the situation of usage of the card, and suggesting some issues for improving the system. Main finding is that the major effects of the introducing HANARO traffic card are convenience (to pay a charge) in using transit, public parking lots, city freeway toll for citizens, and saving in personnel expenses, maintenance expenses for buses, subway and taxi companies. It is also found that HANARO traffic card system needs to be expended to be compatible with other fields of economic activities.

Streaming Media and Multimedia Conferencing Traffic Analysis Using Payload Examination

  • This paper presents a method and architecture to analyze streaming media and multimedia conferencing traffic. Our method is based on detecting the transport protocol and port numbers that are dynamically assigned during the setup between communicating parties. We then apply such information to analyze traffic generated by the most popular streaming media and multimedia conferencing applications, namely, Windows Media, Real Networks, QuickTime, SIP and H.323. We also describe a prototype implementation of a traffic monitoring and analysis system that uses our method and architecture.
