  • Various types suspension insulators made of toughness glass or porcelain are used in the power transmission. And, Insulators are continually subject to mechanical and electrical stresses which depend on the characteristics of the line. The main factor that influence the increase in reliability of insulators. In operation is the capacity of the design to withstand the certain load over a long time, the mechanical strength of the insulators. This paper describes the results of a study on the stress analysis of suspension insulator based on the finite element analysis using NASTRAN. And, the mechanical strength was evaluated through such as kinds of pin type.

직류용 FRP 지지애자 개발 및 현장설치 적응시험 (The Development and Field Test of DC FRP Support Insulator Prototype)

  • FRP(Fiber Reinforced Plastic) support insulators for DC(direct current) were developed and their electrical and mechanical characteristics were investigated. Electrical tests were carried out to measure flashover voltages under common use frequency condition. Tensile and bending tests were performed for the mechanical characteristics. The test results showed that FRP support insulators have superior voltage resistances and strengths to porcelain insulators. Field test also is carried out to measure adaptation and to compensate the defect. The test result showed that a new product has no defect in electrical and mechanical.

  • 송전 철탑에 취부되는 절연물인 자기애자는 외부 환경에 노출된 구조물으로서 오염이나 크랙등에 의해 절연성능이 손상받을 수 있다. 이러한 절연애자의 불량이나 오염정도를 감시하기 위하여 애자를 통하여 흐르는 누설전류를 분석하는 기법을 사용하여 불량 및 오손을 감지하는 장치를 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 개발 장치에 삽입될 전체적 검출 알고리즘과 실제작중인 장치의 일부분에 관하여 다루었다.

RTV 실리콘 고무 코팅재의 표면전하 축적이 발수성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Accumulated charges on Surface Hydrophobicity of RTV Silicone Rubber)

  • In this paper, we evaluated the effect of accumulated charges on hydrophobicity of room temperature vulcanized(RTV) silicone rubber, which could improve the contamination performance of porcelain insulators, with uv radiation time. Outdoor insulating material could be charged by the corona discharge on field intensified area of insulator and discharge between the water drops. In addition, we performed the accelerated uv radiation on samples and investigated the change of charging decay with time. In this results, it is found that silica-like structure on the surface of RTV silicone rubber was formed by uv treatments and this layer have the characteristic of retaining the charges on surface for a long time. These charges have effects on its hydrophobicity and so adversely effects on contamination performance. Based on our results, we discussed the other degradation mechanism with well known ones.

  • Recently polymeric insulators and arresters are being used for outdoor high voltage applications. Polymeric insulators for transmission line have significant advantages over porcelain and glass insulators, especially for ultra-high voltage(UHV) transmission lines. Their advantages are light weight, vandalism resistance and hydrophobicity. Polymeric insulator kind are a relatively new technology, but their expected life is still unknown. In this paper, the material property for polymeric insulating material such as silicone rubber and EPBM is investigated by cross-link time and the relation between tracking resistance and W resistance is analyzed by IEC 60587 and W aging experiment.

  • 절연애자의 표면에 흐르는 누설전류는 애자의 상태를 알 수 있는 중요한 요소 중의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 정상애자, 코팅 벗겨낸 애자, 크랙 애자의 각각의 누설전류량을 시간에 따른 Trend로 비교 분석하였다. 또한, 열화상 카메라를 이용하여 애자 표면의 열 분포를 측정하였다.

  • This paper presents the results of performance confirmation tests for domestic 20 [Ton] transmission suspension insulators which will be widely utilized in transmission lines. The new test methods such as power arc test, steep-front-of-wave flashover voltage test, and etc. which have been only utilized for the distribution insulators were applied in transmission suspension insulators. The properties of metal and cement used in the 20 [Ton] transmission insulators were also evaluated by the various analysis techniques. Based on the results, we evaluated the performance of the transmission suspension insulators.

  • Silicone insulators have many advantages over porcelain insulators. Especially silicone insulators have good characteristics of impact hardness, surface insulation, ease of processing, mass productivity and don't have risk of bombardment and vandalism. Recently insulation part made by silicone are becoming widely used. In this paper we introduce the development of Sealing End for 132kV XLPE cable with silicone composite hollow insulator and the adoption of it to a actual transmission line in abroad. This paper contains of design procedure, structure, electrical performance of it.

  • The chief advantage of these NCI, from a handling viewpoint. was an up to 90% weight reduction over their porcelain counter. Diagnosis and the life expectancy of NCI for transmission lines depend on a number of factors, many of which are associated with natural tracking breakdown, while others are related to manufacturing conditions. Recently The importance of optimizing a NCI for good performance under a wide variety of test condition and diagnosis is emphasized ; as well as the increased importance of natural breakdown testing. Today, at transmission lines, NCI have become very popular at 154 through 345 kV.

  • Recently, failure of COS(cut out switch) due to contamination has been increased. This paper is on the development of the contamination COS. 1 We designed a porcelain insulator of alternate shed for anti-contamination COS. 2 The COS was coated with HVIC(silicone) to improve resistivity to contamination. 3 The FOV characteristics of COS were examined to obtain dry FOV, wet FOV and contamination FOV.
