  • Time-limited promotions have become a popular strategy across various product categories including fashion mobile platforms. While consumer feel content and satisfied when they get this , those who miss the opportunity may develop negative feelings and tend to give up on additional price discounts. This phenomenon, known as inaction inertia, has been a crucial subject of consumer behavior research. However, the underlying mechanism within the context of fashion consumption has yet to be discussed. This study investigated whether consumers show inaction inertia when purchasing fashion products and whether involvement moderates product purchases in inaction inertia situations. Hypotheses were tested through an online survey with 336 Korean participants based on fictitious purchase scenarios. In the results, the hypothesized negative influence of inaction inertia on purchase intention for fashion products was statistically confirmed. Furthermore, the hypothesized moderation effect of involvement in the mechanism was confirmed - only within the high (vs. low) age group. To explain, the negative effect of inaction inertia significantly decreases among older consumers of high (vs. low) involvement levels. We contributed to the related academic flow by performing an experimental study on inaction inertia, which had relatively little empirical research compared to the influence confirmed in practice so far. We also provided a novel idea by demonstrating that the moderating effect of product involvement differs depending on the age group.

  • The objective of this field research is to determine consumer's fashion sense and provide helpful information to manufacturers when planning designs and merchandizing strategies. This study's purpose was to observe what was being worn, colors and tones. The method of research was fixed point observation using digital photos. The subjects of the research were female college students, 18-22 years old. The T-shirt has become the representative item for casual and comfortable wear by the female college students. Pants and blue jeans were worn more often than skirts as a lower garment. This shows that the students think about their activities when choosing a lower garment. The majority of these students chose clothing that functioned well for their school activities. Among students that wore skirts about half wore a functional knee length while the other half wore a more fashionable mini-skirt. These students appear to care about both fashion and function. Blue was especially popular, with 70.4% of all lower garments being blue. This effect makes the body look thinner and may be one reason why blue is so popular. White is a popular color as an upper garment. White upper garments are easily matched with any color, while blue upper garments coordinate well with similarly colored blue lower garments. The distribution of upper garment color is significantly influenced by the seasons. Blue jean tones were many and varied, while upper garments were mostly weak tones and bright tones of pale, light and soft.

  • This research analyzed consumer culture and usage of sugar in modern times based on 12 modern popular Korean cooking books with sugar recipes. Procedures were formed via textual analysis. The outcomes of the study can be summarized in brief statements. According to "Banchandeungsok", "Booinpilj", and "Chosunmoossangsinsikyorijebeob", sugar was utilized in 34 out of 663 or 5.1% of cooked foods during the 1910s to 1920s. According to books such as "Ganpyounchosunyorijebeob", "Ililhwalyongsinyoungyangyoribeob", "Chosun's cooking of the four seasons", "Halpaengyoungoo", "Chosunyorijebeob", and "Required reading for housewife", sugar was added to 165 out of 998 or 16.5% of cooked foods during the 1930s. According to the books like "Chosunyorihak", "Chosunyoribeob", and "Woorieumsik", sugar was an ingredient in 241 out of 756 or 31.9% of cooked foods during the 1940s. Sugar depicted within the 12 modern popular Korean cooking books primarily functioned as an alternative sweetener, starch, sweet enhancer, preservative, and seasoning. Similar to illustrated sugar from modern popular Korean cooking books, sugar has continually been favored by Korean cooks starting from the 1910s with 5.1% usage, the 1930s with 16.5% usage, and the 1940s with 31.9% usage. Despite its short history, sugar's culinary importance in Korea has been on the rise ever since the early 1900s. Although sugar is an exotic spice in Korea, it has gained social, cultural, and symbolic recognition as well as practicality within Korean food culture. Thus, it has become more internalized and familiarized as an inseparable sweetness that characterizes current Korean food.

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the effects of the popularity of menu items in nutrient consumption of school-aged children participating in a School Breakfast Program. The weighed plate waste method was used to determine the nutrient intake of students. The nutrient intake was evaluated based on the popularity of the menu item, gender, and grades. The average intakes of all nutrients except energy, fiber, and sodium were well within the goals. Actual nutrient intake varied based upon the popularity of $entr{\acute{e}}es$ and the popularity of menu items was a main effect in nutrient content of meals. When the most popular $entr{\acute{e}}es$ were served, school-aged children's energy intake and School Breakfast Program participation rate increased. Saturated fat and sodium intakes also were higher than the goal when the most popular $entr{\acute{e}}es$ were served. The significant main effect was grades for total fat (p < 0.05) and calcium (p < 0.05), which was qualified by the two-way interaction between gender and grades for saturated fat (p < 0.05), protein (p<0.1), iron (p<0.01), vitamin C (p<0.01) and carbohydrates (p<0.001). Gender itself was not a significant main effect. Based on the findings, the suggestions for educating school-aged children on more healthful breakfast food choices and reformulating recipes for the popular $entr{\acute{e}}es$ are made. • Purpose - Korean Wave that overspreads around Asia and America, especially the Korean beauty wave, has reached Mongolia and Mongolian consumers. Mongolia consumers usually prefer foreign cosmetic brands to local brands, because the local brands cannot satisfy fast changing needs and wants of local consumers. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on previous studies about life style of Mongolian consumers, advertisement properties and consumer behaviors, we propose a research model and related hypothesis. In order to test hypotheses, we analyzed 366 survey data out of 376 by eliminating improper 10 responses. Factor analysis and reliability analysis was conducted by SPSS 22.0. We used multiple regression analysis and parameter analysis to test the relation between variables. Results - As exploring the Mongolian consumers' current usage of cosmetic products, we found that the customers' focus is how the products fit with their skin. Mongolian consumers often get the information about cosmetic products through TV and internet. Mongolian consumers show positive attitudes on the appearance of Korean celebrities in responsibility, while there is no significant effect on attractiveness. Mongolian consumer's behaviors toward brand have positive effect on both responsibility and attractiveness of Korean commercial celebrities. Responsibility and attractiveness of Korean commercial celebrities have positive effect on the behaviors toward advertisements of cosmetic products. Conclusions - Behaviors toward advertisements of cosmetic products have positive effect on both purchase intention and loyalty of customer. Responsibility and attractiveness of Korean commercial celebrities have positive effect on mediating variable of behavior toward advertisement and independent variable of purchase intention. Responsibility and attractiveness of Korean commercial celebrities have positive effect on mediating variable of behavior toward advertisement and independent variable of loyalty of customer. In order to improve the effect of advertisements, firms need to consider not only the technique of the model but also the image of model in regard to trust and professionalism appealing to consumers. In addition, firms need to choose the model who fits in with the image of the firms and the products and service of the firms. Finally, Mongolian consumers tend to acquire the shopping information through TV advertisements, especially featuring Korean popular stars, thus, TV advertisements can be a wise option in Mongolian cosmetic market.

  • Purpose - Ethical consumption is the action of buying one product over another with an ethical idea in mind. It has gained in popularity since the 1990s with more emphasis being put on the power of consumer actions to create social, economic, and environmental change. Ethical consumption involves boycotts of certain products or brands as well as purchases linked to ethical issues. Cause-related marketing (the buying behavior of ethical consumption) involves a for-profit and non-profit entity teaming up to promote a product at the same time as promoting a social cause. Each time a consumer buys that product, a donation is made by the for-profit entity to the non-profit entity supporting the specific cause. Cause-related marketing has become a tremendously popular type of ethical consumption in recent years owing to its reputation of allowing companies to "do well by doing good." This study examines how consumers' perception of cause and attitude influence their attitude toward a cause-related marketing campaign and attempts to suggest implications for marketers. Research design, data, and methodology - First, this study was designed to examine the consumers' perception factors (cause involvement, attitude for cause, attitude for company and brand familiarity) in order to determine whether these factors have significantly affected consumers' attitude toward a cause-related marketing campaign. Second, this study developed a structural equation model and tested it empirically using survey data from 223 individual respondents. Respondents were undergraduate students in Chungnam. They were shown an existing real campaign message of cause-related marketing, and then filled out a questionnaire. Data were analyzed with SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 17.0 programs. Results - The hypotheses were tested using factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The study's results showed that brand familiarity, attitude to the company and attitude to the cause significantly affected consumers' attitude toward the cause-related marketing campaign and performance. In particular, attitude to the cause was significantly related to attitude and performance of the cause-related marketing campaign. However, the hypothesis about cause involvement was not supported with the results indicating that cause involvement did not affect consumers' attitude toward the cause-related marketing campaign. The findings underline the importance of consumer perceptions of the cause and the company and their attitude to the cause. They point to the importance of individual differences that influence consumer perceptions of the cause, the company and brand familiarity. Also of importance is the consumer's attitude to the cause. Conclusions - The findings suggest some practical implications in designing and implementing cause-related marketing campaigns. It is important to enhance brand familiarity and create a favorable attitude to the company and attitude to the cause before designing cause-related marketing campaigns. The rising popularity of cause-related marketing has been attributed to its potential to cut through advertising clutter. The findings in this study suggest that marketing campaigns supporting a cause make a difference.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a large representative data base for jeans marketing strategy This study was to survey brand features(launching year, launching company, design concept, sales volume, and price zone) in the current market, and was to examine brand awareness and it's relationship to segmented distribution regions, demo- graphic variables(sex, age, monthly household income, and seasonal clothing expenditure). This study was also to analyze brand image and consumer's seeking image. The 660 questionnaires were distributed and 618 reliable ones were used for statistical analysis. A SAS statistical package including frequency table, Chi-square test, factor analysis, analysis of variance(ANOVA), Duncan's multiple range test and paired-t test was used. The results are as follows: 1. Brand awareness involves "brand recall" based on asking a person to name the brand recalled first, and "brand recognition" based on asking to identify brand name from 30 given brands. The result of recall brand test indicated that Levi's was dominant brand. People recognized about 70.8% of brands on the average. Brand recognition was influenced by segmented distribution region and demographic variables. 2. There was significantly positive relationship between brand recognition and purchasing behavior. 3. National brands were more recognized than Licensed brands. 4. The result showed that "Nix" was best represented for sophisticated brand image, "Strom" for characteristic, "Jambangee" for resonable price, and "Levi's" for classic '||'&'||' comfortable brand image. 5. As a result of factor analysis on consumer's seeking image, six factors(characteristic, young, intelligent/sexy, comfortable, exotic and popular) were found. Several factors had a relationship with preferred design, demographic variables, fashion interest, and brand recognition. variables, fashion interest, and brand recognition.
