이산관측기에 근거한 감지시스템을 위한 정량적 성능지표 (A Quantitative Performance Index for Discrete-time Observer-based Monitoring Systems)

  • While Model-based Monitoring systems based on state observer theory have shown much promise in the laboratory, they have not been widely accepted by industry because, inpractice, these systems often have poor performance with respect to accuracy, band-width, reliability(false alarms), and robustness. In this paper, the linitations of the deterministic discrete-time state observer are investigated quantitatively from the machine monitoring viewpoint. The limitations in the transient and steady-state observer performance are quantified as estimation error bounds from which performance indices are selected. Each index represents the conditioning of the corresponding performance. By utilizing matrix norm theory, an unified main index is determined, that dominates all the indices. This index could from the basis for an observer design methodology that should improve the performance of model-based monitoring systems.

  • VTS 관제사의 가장 기본적인 업무는 모니터링과 동시다발적으로 발생하는 사건을 처리하는 업무라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 모니터링 업무와 동시발생 업무의 관리의 소홀 또는 실패가 VTS 관련 사고로 이어지는 경우가 많다, 그러함에도 불구하고 지금까지는 이 분야에 대한 연구가 부족하였다. 본고에서는 VTS 모니터링 업무와 동시발생 업무 관리의 특성을 분석하고 특히 방해와 산만을 일으키는 요소들을 집중적으로 검토하고 이것이 관제사의 역량에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 또한 이러한 문제의 해결책으로 미래계획기억과 분산 기억 시스템 이론을 적용하여 실질적으로 관제사 업무에 도움을 줄 수 있는 방법을 모색하였다. 또한 e-Navigation 과 관련하여 VTS 장비에 장착하여 관제사의 모니터링 업무와 동시다발 발생 업무 관리를 도울 수 있는 도구 개발에 대한 아이디어를 제안하였다.

  • The Tension Leveller of Cold Rolling Mill In POSCO performs levelling the strip in high speed line. But minor variations in operating condition of driving machines such as motor, gear box, and support bearings, a small gap-variation of supporter and strip slip by poor roll revolutions can cause serious problems in the quality of strip. In this study, firstly, A condition monitoring standard for each sensor is made through with the detail analysis of vibration and strip slip. Secondly, An automatic monitoring and diagnosing system was developed to monitor the condition of Tension Leveller, and diagnose the cause of abnormal condition. Finally, A diagnosing algorithm for abnormal condition and man-machine interface (MMI) for easy operation are developed.

  • The workplace environment monitoring system based on IP-USN proposed in this study measures and analyzes workplace environment information so as to provide services to provide better work environment and prevent occupational accidents caused by poor, shabby labor environment. This study presents the procedures to design and develop a system that monitors noise, humidity, vibration, temperature, and sensors installed in the workplace and sounds alarm when workers enter dangerous areas or are exposed to hazards. The author actually installed the IP-USN workplace environment monitoring system in a small workplace and confirmed its effectiveness.

  • Polishing work of a free-curved surface die demands simple and repetitive operations but requires a considerable amount of time for high precision. In out previous study, to reduce the polishing time and solve the problem of the shortage of skilled workers, the automatic polishing system was developed. However, in the polishing process of die, workers have to stay still in factory to monitor the polishing process for a long time in the poor environment. Therefore, this study proposes the remote operation and monitoring system of the automatic polishing robot. The developing system offer worker monitoring functions and teleoperating functions, as following: system state check, manual manipulation mode, automatic mode, manual teaching mode, automatic teaching mode, simulation by virtual manufacturing device. And automatic teaching system is developed to easily obtain a teaching data.

Intraoperative monitoring of somatosensory and visual evoked potentials for detecting posterior cerebral artery infarction during anteromesial temporal resection

  • We performed intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (INM) during anteromesial temporal resection (AMTR) in a patient with lesional temporal lobe epilepsy. INM revealed a sudden decrease in N20 waves in somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEPs) and poor P100 waves in visual evoked potentials (VEPs). These changes developed after applying electrocoagulation in the right mesial temporal areas. Postoperative brain magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated right thalamic and medial occipital infarctions. SSEPs and VEPs monitoring can be useful for detecting posterior cerebral artery infarction in AMTR.

강교량 재도장 로봇의 모니터링 모듈 시제품 개발 (Development of a Prototype Monitoring Module for Steel Bridge Repainting Robots)

  • With the need for efficient maintenance technology to reduce maintenance costs for steel bridges, repainting robots are being developed to automate the work in narrow and poor bridge spaces. The repainting robot is equipped with a blasting module to remove paint layers and contaminants. This study developed a prototype monitoring module to be mounted on the repainting robot. The monitoring module analyzes the condition of the painting surface through a camera installed in the front, guides the direction of movement of the robot, and provides the operator with a video to check the working status after blasting through a camera installed in the back. Various image visibility enhancement technologies were applied to the monitoring module to overcome worksite challenges where incomplete lighting and dust occurs.

  • 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크 기술은 새로운 컴퓨팅 패러다임인 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 핵심 분야로서, 무선 센서 네트워크를 이용한 상황정보 모니터링 시스템에 적합한 기술이다. 이 기술을 모니터링 시스템에 적용하면 열악한 환경에 간편하고 저렴한 비용으로 실시간으로 발생된 상황데이터를 수집 및 분석하여 즉각적인 상황대처와 사용자가 원하는 환경의 조건을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크 기반에서 무선 노드의 센싱 기술을 이용하여 상황 정보 모니터링 시스템을 구축한다. 제안된 시스템은 수집될 데이터의 양이 적고 지속적인 모니터링이 불필요하고 일정한 간격으로 특정 지역에서 발생되는 상황을 감지하는 작업에 기존 유선 통신을 이용한 상황감시보다는 효율적이다.

저소득층 어머니의 자녀교육 참여와 자녀의 학교 적응 (Mother's Involvement and Children's School Adjustment in Poor Families)

  • The purposes of this study are to explore mother's involvement in children's education and to examine its impacts on the school adjustment of poor family children. A total of 206 low-income mothers with a child attending elementary or middle school completed a structured questionnaire. Overall, the results show that the mothers tend to involve in their children's education to some degree. But the extent of maternal involvement is not uniform across the types of involvement. In order to analyze factors that affect the school adjustment which is measured as grades and attitudes toward school life, regression is perfomed. The mother-child relationship, the expectation for children's educational attainment and the involvement in school activities are found important in predicting the school adjustment of elementary school students. Also, it is found that the discipline including TV monitoring and the matemal expectation are positively associated with the school adjustment of middle school student.

VALIDATION OF ON-LINE MONITORING TECHNIQUES TO NUCLEAR PLANT DATA

  • The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) demonstrated a method for monitoring the performance of instrument channels in Topical Report (TR) 104965, 'On-Line Monitoring of Instrument Channel Performance.' This paper presents the results of several models originally developed by EPRI to monitor three nuclear plant sensor sets: Pressurizer Level, Reactor Protection System (RPS) Loop A, and Reactor Coolant System (RCS) Loop A Steam Generator (SG) Level. The sensor sets investigated include one redundant sensor model and two non-redundant sensor models. Each model employs an Auto-Associative Kernel Regression (AAKR) model architecture to predict correct sensor behavior. Performance of each of the developed models is evaluated using four metrics: accuracy, auto-sensitivity, cross-sensitivity, and newly developed Error Uncertainty Limit Monitoring (EULM) detectability. The uncertainty estimate for each model is also calculated through two methods: analytic formulas and Monte Carlo estimation. The uncertainty estimates are verified by calculating confidence interval coverages to assure that 95% of the measured data fall within the confidence intervals. The model performance evaluation identified the Pressurizer Level model as acceptable for on-line monitoring (OLM) implementation. The other two models, RPS Loop A and RCS Loop A SG Level, highlight two common problems that occur in model development and evaluation, namely faulty data and poor signal selection
