The large amount of energy is consumed in a process for keeping the high temperature melting pool. For this reason, in addition to the wastes input to keep the high temperature melting pool, it is necessary for an auxiliary fuel and LOx to throw into the melting pool. So in this study, using a new melting furnace system, the experiments to keep the melting pool with minimal energy without throwing an auxiliary fuel and LOx was carried out. Also it is hoped that the results of the experiment will be available to analyze keeping a melting pool and behavior in a melting furnace.
Online game servers usually has been using the static thread pool system. But this system is not fit for huge online game server because the overhead is always up-and-down. Therefore, in this paper, we suggest the new algorithm for huge online game server. This algorithm is based on the prediction-based dynamic thread pool system. But it was developed for web servers and every 0.1 seconds the system prediction the needed numbers of threads and determine the thread pool size. Some experimental results show that the check time of 0.4 seconds is the best one for online game server and if the number of worker threads do not excess or lack to the given threshold then we do not predict and keep the current state. Otherwise we apply the prediction algorithm and change the number of threads. Some experimental results shows that this proposed algorithm reduce the overhead massively and make the performance of huge online game server improved in comparison to the static thread pool system.
A quality monitoring system in butt welding process is proposed to estimate weld pool sizes. The geometrical parameters of the weld pool such as the top bead width and the penetration depth plus half back width are utilized to prove the integrity of the weld quality. The monitoring variables used are the surface temperatures measured at three points on the top surface of the weldment. The temperature profile is assumed that it has a gaussian distribution in vertical direction of torch movement and verify this assumption through temperature analysis. A neural network estimator is designed to estimate weld pool size from temperature informations. The experimental results show that the proposed neural network estimator which used gaussian distribution as temperature information can estimate the weld pool sizes accurately than used three point temperatures as temperature information. Considering the change of gap size in butt welding, the experiment were performed on various gap size.
Nucleate pool boiling experiments with constant wall temperature were performed using pure R1l3 for subcooled, saturated, and superheated pool conditions. A microscale heater array and Wheatstone bridge circuits were used to maintain the constant wall temperature and to measure the instantaneous heat flow rate accurately with high temporal and spatial resolutions. Images of bubble growth were taken at 5,000 frames per second using a high-speed CCD camera synchronized with the heat flow rate measurements. The bubble geometry was obtained from the captured bubble images. The effect of the pool conditions on the bubble growth behavior was analyzed using dimensionless parameters for the initial and thermal growth regions. The effect of the pool conditions on the heat flow rate behavior was also examined. This study will provide good experimental data with precise constant wall temperature boundary condition for such works.
In this study, numerical investigation has been performed on the evolution of weld pool geometry with moving free surface during low-energy density laser welding process. The free surface elevates near the weld pool edge if ${\partial}{\sigma}/dT$ is dominantly negative. On the contrary, the free surface rise at the center of weld pool in case of mainly positive ${\partial}{\sigma}/dT$. The predicted weld pool width and depth with moving free surface are 5∼15%$5{\sim}15%$ greater than those with flat weld pool surface. It is considered that weld pool surface oscillation during melting process augments convective heat transfer rate in the weld pool.

The feedback control systems of welding process using visual information can improve weld qualities. However, it is very difficult to get the visual information of weld pool since welding are is much stronger than light from weld pool. To explore the possibility of extending the capability of automatic welding machines a study of a closed loop controlled welding system consisted of a GTA welding machine, a vision system, a stepping motor system and a digital computer was undertaken. Particularly, in this system, a CCD camera with 850nm long pass filter was focused on the weld pool to give a weld pool image. Subsequently, image analysis technique has been developed to measure a weld pool width. Using this weld pool width measurement, a colsed loop control system adjusted welding speed to maintain constant weld pool width.

The pressure suppression pool of BWR(Boiling Water Reactor) is subjected to hydrodynamic impact in the event of a LOCA(Loss of Coolant Accident). The pressure increase in the reactor dry cell would force the existing water of a vent pipe into the suppression pool. When the water is ejected through the pipe opening into the suppression pool, an abrupt downward force is transmitted to the suppression pool floor. Consequently, many structures installed within the pool must be able to withstand these forces. In order to determine the optimum safe locations of the pool structures, numerical analysis have been carried out to investigate the hydrodynamic behavior of the water jet. In the present analysis, a two-dimensional numerical model is utilized to solve transient flow equations.

The domestic unique research reactor, HANARO (Hi-flux Advanced Neutron Application ReactOr), has been constructed with the open-pool, the core is submerged in, for the multi-purpose neutron application. The reactor has a primary cooling system to remove the fission heat from the core and its connected fluidic systems. Since the works are required at the reactor pool top as a characteristic of the research reactor, the radiation shall be minimized with the operation of the hot water layer system to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure on the workers during work at the pool top. Moreover, the pool water management system is connected to the reactor pool to maintain the pool temperature below $50^{\circ}C$ to minimize the uprising radioactive gas or impurity from the colder pool bottom. For the efficient flow rate of the PWMS, the thermal capacity of heat exchanger is selected with 260 kW in the normal operation condition. In this paper, the modeling is formulated to figure out whether or not each pool temperature maintains below the temperature limit and the calculation results show that the designed PWMS heat exchanger has enough capacity with the design margin regardless of the reactor operation mode.
A series of measurements and visualization to investigate the extingushiment of water sprays with pool fires is presented. Fire source is a small-scale pool burner with methanol, ethanol and gasoline. Measurements of temperature, O2, CO2, and CO concentrations along the plume centerline are carried out to observe pool structures without water sprays. Visualization by the Ar-ion laser sheet flow pattern of droplets of the sprays above the pool fires. It is observed than in the case of methanol and ethanol, water sprays continuously penetrate into the center of fuel surfaces. The gasoline pool fire allows intermittent penetration of water sprays because of pulsating characteristics of the gasoline flame. To evaluate the cooling effect of the fuel surface by the sprays, the temperature was measured at the fuel surface. As soon as the mists reach the fuel surface of methanol and ethanol, the temperatures of the fuel surface decrease rapidly below the boiling point, and then the fires are extinguished. Due to the application of mist upon the gasoline fire, though the fuel temperature decrease abruptly at the time of the injection, such a repid decrease do not continue till the extinction point.

Sixteen mature sheep were fed chaffed orchardgrass hay once a day. Jaw movement of the sheep was recorded for 24 hours before slaughter. Four sheep were slaughtered either prior to eating, 2, 8 or 16 hours after the commencement of eating to measure digesta pool size and particle size distribution in the reticulo-rumen. Eating time was restricted to 120 minutes. Rumination time and actual chewing time during rumination increased with time after the meal. Mean dry matter (DM) pool size before and 2 hours after the meal were 1.36 and 2.45 times of DM intake, respectively. The proportion of large particle (>1.18 mm; LP) in the DM ingested during the meal was caculated to be about 70%. The mean DM and LP pool sizes per DM intake and the mean proportion of LP in the DM pool decreased with time after the meal. There were close negative relationships between either DM or LP pool sizes per DM intake and the chewing activities either expressed as time spent rumination, actual chewing time during rumination or total actual chewing time(total of eating time and actual chewing time during rumination). The difference between DM intake and LP pool size were assumed to be LP degradation in the present experiment, and correlated positively with the chewing activities. A large proportion of the digesta load was comprised of small particles, in excess of the daily intake.
