LNG 화물창 정밀 구조해석을 위한 에폭시와 폴리우레탄 접착제 기계적 물성치 분석 (Mechanical Properties Analysis of Epoxy and Polyurethane Adhesive for Accurate Structural Analysis of LNG Cargo Hold)

  • As the demand for natural gas that satisfies environmental regulations increases, the quantities of natural gas cargo that carrier can load is also increasing. Natural gas is transported in a liquefied state at -163 ℃ to increase loading efficiency. Among several LNG CCS types, MARK-III types are generally adopted in terms of loading efficiency. The secondary barrier adhesives of the MARK-III, nevertheless, is subjected to tensile stress due to thermal contraction and tension in the environment. In terms of these reasons, local analysis of the adhesive to evaluate the stress state must be carried out. According to previous studies, local analysis is unavailable since material properties for secondary barrier adhesives have not been reported. Thus, in this study, the cryogenic tensile test and coefficient of thermal expansion of epoxy and polyurethane (PU15, PU45), which are most widely used at cryogenic temperatures, were experimentally analyzed. At cryogenic temperature, the mechanical behavior of the polyurethane adhesive was better than epoxy of the adhesive. the joint of FSB and epoxy adhesive of the secondary barrier has the maximum coefficient of thermal expansion difference at 25 ℃ and minimum at -150 ℃, respectively.

Butadiene 고무 변성 Polyurethane 접착제의 합성과 물성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Synthesis and Physical Properties of Polyurethane Adhesives Modified with Butadiene Rubber)

  • Rubber-modified polyurethane resin which was prepolymer type terminated with NCO, was synthesized by reacting isocyanate groups[NCO] and hydroxyl groups[OH]. Polybutadiene rubbers which had OH groups in the side of rubber chains, were charged at ratio $0%{\sim}40%$ of solid component in reactants. For products, physical properties were investigated experimentally. The results abtained in experiment were as follows. 1. Liquid resin and dried film was good solubility and clearity at less than 25%, 20% of rubber without being related to sort. 2. G-1000 showed better properties than R-45HT in solubility, dring time and adhesive strength. 3. Dring time and adhesive strength were considerably influenced by molecular weigh and structure of rubber. 4. In using 25% of mixed rubber(G-1000/R-45HT=50/50), It represented best properties in dring time(10 minute) and adhesive strength($23Kg/cm^2$).

  • Wearable medical device has been a resurgence of interest thanks to the development of technology and propagation of smart phone in recent years. Various types of wearable devices have been introduced and available in market. Capacitive coupled electrode which measures electrocardiogram over cloth is able to be applied wearable device. In previous approaches of capacitive electrode, they need proper pressure for stable contact of the electrode to body surface. However, wearable device that gives pressure on body surface is not suitable for long-term monitoring. In this study, we proposed adhesive polyurethane-based capacitive electrode for patch-type wearable electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring device. Self-adhesive polyurethane make the electrode and whole system be adhered to the surface of skin without any pressure. The patch-type system is consisted of analog filter, analog-to-digital converter and wireless transmission module and designed to be attached on the body as a patch. To validate the feasibility of the developed system, we measured ECG signal in stable and active state and extracted heart rate. Therefore, we observed skin response after long-term attachment for biocompatibility of the adhesive polyurethane and adhesive strength of it. The result shows the possibility of applying the developed system for ECG monitoring in real-life.

극저온에서 우레탄과 에폭시 접착제로 접착된 트리플엑스의 전단강도과 박리 강도 평가 (Evaluations of lap shear and peel strength for epoxy and polyurethane adhesive bonded Triplex sheets at cryogenic temperatures)

  • 접착제에 의한 접합은 일반적으로 구조물의 접합에 널리 사용되고 있다. 폴리우레탄 접착제와 에폭시 접착제는 현재 극저온에서 운항되고 있는 LNG 선박의 화물창에 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 화물창용 소재인 트리플엑스와 폴리우레탄 및 에폭시 접착제와의 상온과 극저온에서의 접착강도를 평가하였다. 연구결과 모든 접착시스템에서 극저온에서 박리강도의 감소가 있었으며 그 원인은 접착제마다 다르게 검토되었다. 결과적으로는 폴리우레탄 접착제와 트리플엑스가 극저온에서의 강도 값이 에폭시에 비해 우수하였으며 LNG 선과 같은 극저온 환경에 접합한 것으로 평가되었다.

  • The material of choice for functional and esthetic reconstruction of maxillofacial defects is silicone. Silicone has appropriate physical properties for maxillofacial prosthesis but it has weak edge strength. Therefore, a proper combination of silicone and polyurethane sheet is recommended to improve this weakness. Various primers are also used to enhance the adhesive strength between silicone and polyurethane sheet. The purpose of this study was to determine the adhesive strength of silicone and polyurethane sheet. Silicone elastomer mixture was made by admixing MDX4-4210 elastomer (40%) and Silastic Medical Adhesive Type A(60%). This silicone elastomer mixture was attached to polyurethane sheet, using one of three different primers(1205, S-2260, or A-304), treated for 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 hours. These were then polymerized in room temperature, dry-heat oven or microwave oven. Six specimens per each group, a total of 270 specimens were prepared for final test. The differences of T-peel bonding strengths were then determined by a test. The differences of T-peel bonding strengths were then determined by a test method that was recommended by American Society for Testing and Materials C794-80. The results were statistically analyzed using the ANOVA and Mutiple Range Tests(Tukey' HSD). The reults were as follow. 1. Type of primer, primer reaction time, and methods of polymerization showed significant correlation on the T-peel bonding strengths in adhesiveness between silicone and polyurethane sheet. 2. A-304 primer showed statistically higher in T-peel bonding strength than otehr type of primers except for the polymerization in microwave oven with reaction times of 2, 6 hours(p<0.05). 3. No significant differences in T-peel bonding strength were observed among the polymerization methods. 4. The effect of reaction time by the primer type and polymerization method showed statistically significant differences in bonding strength among different reaction times. And in most cases, reaction time of 1 or 2 hours showed higher T-peel bonding strength.

이성분계 혼합 폴리우레탄 수분산체의 제조 및 접착 특성 연구 (Preparation and Adhesion Characteristics of Binary Blended Waterborne Polyurethane)

  • 본 연구는 선처리제 공정을 생략하고 우수한 접착 특성을 가지는 합성피혁용 스킨(skin) 수지제조에 관한 것으로 이성분계 혼합 폴리우레탄 수분산체를 제조하여 이에 대한 선처리제(primer)를 생략한 접착 시편의 접착특성을 평가하는 것이다. 이성분계 혼합 폴리우레탄 수분산체의 제조는 에스터(ester)계 폴리우레탄 수지(PU-T)와 카보네이트(carbonate)계 폴리우레탄 수지(PU-C)를 각각 합성하고 이를 배합함으로써 최종 수지를 얻었다. 선처리제를 생략한 접착시편의 접착강도 측정결과, 우수한 상태접착강도 (Ethylene vinyl acetate(중창): $4.2kg_f/cm$, 고무(겉창) : $4.4kg_f/cm$)를 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 신발 제조 공정에서 필수불가결하게 사용되었던 선처리제(primer) 공정을 생략가능하게 함으로써 공정의 단축과 선처리제(primer)에서 발생되는 휘발성유기화합물 (VOCs)의 감소를 가져와 친환경적인 장점을 지닌다.

해리온도와 반응성 희석제 함량에 따른 저점도 폴리우레탄 핫멜트 접착제의 접착특성 (Adhesion Property of Low-Viscosity Polyurethane Hot-Melt Adhesive in according to the Deblocking Temperature and Content of Reactive Diluents)

  • 본 연구에서는 반응성 희석제 함량에 따라 접착강도 및 물성을 향상시키기 위해 polyether polyol/polyester polyol, 4,4-dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate ($H_{12}MDI$), 2-butanone oxime (MEKO)를 사용하여 저점도 폴리우레탄 핫멜트를 합성하였다. 합성된 저점도 폴리우레탄 핫멜트의 물성은 FT-IR, viscosity meter 및 UTM 등을 통해 확인하였다. 반응성 희석제의 함량이 증가하고 NCO-blocked prepolymer가 감소함에 따라 저점도 폴리우레탄 핫멜트 접착제의 점도는 증가하였으며, OH-terminated oligomer, NCO-blocked prepolymer, 반응성 희석제 함량의 비가 1 : 0.5 : 0.5일 때 1.1 kgf/cm 접착강도를 나타내었다.

  • 카르복실화된 비반응성 및 반응성 폴리우레탄 레진을 이용, 아크릴 단량체의 반회분식 유화중합법을 통해 점착제를 제조하였다. 폴리우레탄 레진의 종류, 함량 그리고 가교제의 투입 방법에 제조된 점착제의 점착 성능에 대해 연구하였다. 본 실험에서 반응성 폴리우레탄 레진에 의해 제조된 점착제가 비반응성 폴리우레탄 레진에 의해 제조된 것에 비해 우수한 점착 성능을 나타내었다. 특히, acetoacetoxy ethyl methacrylate와 1,6 hexane diamine을 가교제로 도입하여 제조된 점착제는 혹독한 가습조건에 계면가교반응으로 인해 월등한 peel strength를 보여 주었다.

고무분말을 혼입한 폴리우레탄 도막방수재에 대한 연구 (A Study on Polyurethane Waterproof Material Containing Rubber Particles)

  • Recently, the develpment of waterproof techniques has been required in morden building field. It is undoubt that one of the best materials for waterproof is polyurethane. Polyurethanes have advantages such as good adhesive ability, durability, weatherproof. However, they have disadvantages like high cost, delicate varnish layer, swelling problem. In this study, we found that the polyurethane with rubber particle of waste tire can solve those problems. We concluded that 10% of rubber particles containing polyurethane was recommened as the waterproof materials.

Reactive Hot Melt Polyurethane Adhesives Modified by Acrylic Copolymer Nanocomposites

  • A macroazoinitiator (MAI) containing a poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) segment was intercalated in the gallery of sodium montmorillonite (Na-MMT). Acrylic monomers were polymerized using this MAI intercalated in Na-MMT to prepare the acrylic copolymer nanocomposite (AN), which is a multiblock copolymer composed of two segments, an acrylic copolymer and PEG intercalated in Na-MMT (Na-MMT/PEG). When AN was used to modify the reactive hot melt polyurethane adhesive (RHA), the acrylic copolymer segment and Na-MMT/PEG synergistically enhanced the initial bond strength evolution and reduced the set time, even when the amount of Na-MMT in RHA was < 1 wt%. The viscosity of RHA increased and the tensile properties of the cured RHA film decreased due to modification with AN. These variations were more evident as the Na-MMT content in AN was increased.
