In this paper, we have investigated how morphology and electrical properties in Polyphenylene sulfide(PPS) are changed by uniaxial elongation. XRD pattern shows that interplanar distance and crystallinities are decreased by increasing elongation ratio. Electrical conduction mechanism of PPS is explained as schottky emission from analysis of electrical current. The electrical current is decreased by increasing elongation ratio. The conductivity is changed remarkably above the glass transition temperature around $(82^{\circ}C)$. The band gap of PPS is evaluated as 3.9-4(eV) from the results of photoconductivity. Increarnent of elongation ratio gives us some information about deep trap formation from photocurrent.

In this paper, it is investigated how the morphology and electrical properties in Polyphenylene Sulfide(PPS) changed by uniaxial elongation. XRD(X-ray diffraction) pattern shows that interplanar distance and crystallinities are decreased by increasing elongation ratio. electrical conduction mechanism of PPS is explained as Schottky emission mechanism. the electrical current is decreased by increasing elongation ratio. The conductivity is changed considerably above the glass transition temperature around 82(>$^{\circ}C$). The band gap of PPS is evaluated as 3.7~4(eV)
In order to develop the blends with good long-term thermal stability and tensile elongation, the blends of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and 7 kinds of elastomer were tested. PPS/elastomer (90/10, 80/20, 70/30) blend samples were prepared by compression molding after twin screw extrusion or punching after sheet extrusion. Rheological, mechanical property and morphology of the blends were analyzed by capillary rheometer, UTM, impact tester, and SEM. For long-term thermal stability tests, the mechanical properties were measured again after the samples were stored in a convection oven for a week. The tensile strengths were almost same regardless of kinds of elastomer and the tensile elongation was the maximum for the PPS/m-EVA blend. As the content of elastomer increased, the elongation increased but delamination occurred at 30 wt% of elastomer content. The tensile strength increased but the elongation decreased seriously after thermal aging. Many problems related with PPS processing could be solved by adding a small amount of the elastomers partially compatibile with PPS and it would be applicable to develop various PPS grades.

Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) is a well-known super engineering plastic with a high melting temperature (above 290℃). It is generally insoluble under regular conditions. Therefore, it can be used for replacing metallic materials. Many researchers are looking at the possibility of replacing aluminum in the engine compartment of an automobile. However, studies on PPS are not common as compared to conventional engineering plastics because only a few companies produce super engineering plastics. In this research, the material properties of PPS composites containing two different kinds of glass fibers and produced under different processing temperatures were investigated. The tensile strength of the PPS composites increased as the processing temperature increased. Although glass fibers with similar aspect ratios were compounded under the same processing condition, one of them yielded a higher mechanical strength.
Polymer composites which have electrical properties have been studied in various industries. The Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) are thought to be reinforcements for polymers because of their high aspect ratio and specially mechanical, thermal and electrical properties. We introduced MWCNT and impact modifier in order to improve thermal and mechanical properties of Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and give electric characteristic to PPS. The thermal properties were investigated by Differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The morphology, mechanical properties and electrical characteristic were performed by Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Izod impact tester and surface resistance meter. As a result, we could find that the PPS/MWCNT composites have high conductivity and good mechanical properties than neat PPS resin.
The dielectric constant and dissipation factor of polyphenylene sulfide(PPS) film were measured in range of -40$\sim$+125$^{\circ}C$. The result shows that characteristics of PPS films are superier to PP and PET films. It's dielectric constant was stable to the temperature of +125$^{\circ}C$.
Composites based on engineering thermoplastics exhibit excellent mechanical and thermal properties and simple processing and reprocessing attributes, and are widely used in the aerospace, three-dimensional (3D) printing, and automobile industries. Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) is one of the most desirable engineering thermoplastics, owing to its superior thermal performance, inherent flame retardancy resulting from the presence of sulfur in its backbone structure, chemical resistance, and satisfactory electrical properties. However, pure PPS resin has limited applicability owing to its brittleness. To compensate for these shortcomings, various filler materials are frequently used in the manufacture of PPS composites. In this review, we would like to present the correlation between the structure and physical properties of PPS composite materials using various fillers.

Dust filter membranes play a crucial role in human life and various industries, as they contribute to several important aspects of human health, safety, and environmental protection. This study presents the development of a polysulfone@polyphenylene sulfide/polytetrafluoroethylene (PSf@PPS/ePTFE) composite dust filter membrane with excellent thermal stability and adhesion properties for high-temperature conditions. FT-IR analysis confirms successful impregnation of PSf adhesive onto PPS fabric and interaction with ePTFE support. FE-SEM images reveal improved fiber interconnection and adhesion with increased PSf concentration. PSf@PPS/ePTFE-5 exhibits the most suitable porous structure. The composite membrane demonstrates exceptional thermal stability up to 400℃. Peel resistance tests show sufficient adhesion for dust filtration, ensuring reliable performance under tough, high-temperature conditions without compromising air permeability. This membrane offers promising potential for industrial applications. Further optimizations and applications can be explored.

The effect of vapor grown carbon fiber (VGCF) contents on electrical and rheological properties of VGCF filled polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) composites prepared through melt mixing using a twin screw exruder was studied. This method was proved to be quite effective to produce good dispersion of VGCF in the matrix even for highly filled PPS. From the dependence of the electrical conductivity on VGCF content, the percolation phenomena began to occur above $10\;wt\%$. While there is only a marginal increase of viscosity for 1 and $5\;wt\%$ VGCF filled PPS, the composites containing $10\;wt\%$. While VGCF showed abrupt increase in viscosity as well as flattening of frequency vs modulus curve, indicating a transition from a liquid-like to a solid-like behavior due to the creation of VGCF network. This result agrees well to the fact that the network formation in the composite can be composite by rheological property dependence on filler content as well as by electrical conductivity measurement.
