A Measurement of Adhesion Energy between Viscoelastic/Elastic, Viscoelastic/Viscoelastic Materials Using Contact Mechanics Approach (접촉 역학적 접근에 의한 점탄성/탄성, 점탄성/점탄성 재료간의 접합 에너지 측정)

  • The nanoimprint lithography technology makes higher density of semiconductor device and larger capacity of storage media. In this technology the induced damage while detaching polymer pattern from mold should be minimized. In order to analyze the problem, the basic knowledge of adhesion between the polymer and the mold is required. In this study a contact experiment of polyisobutylene specimen with spherical steel tip and polyisobutylene bead tip was conducted using nano indenter. During the contact experiment with various loading rate under load control the contact behavior of viscoelastic material was measured, i.e., the load and displacement between the tip and the specimen were measured. The data was analyzed by HBK model to obtain the stress intensity factor of contact edge and the contact radius as a function of time. Also the adhesion energies between steel/polyisobutylene and polyisobutylene/polyisobutylene were obtained employing the analysis of the crack of viscoelastic material by Schapery.

  • Safety-shoes are developed for heavy industry. Nowadays with the development of industry, it is increase on all of industry field. Safety-shoes are to be classfied into using intention. And it's developed not only protect from danger but also more comfort wearing. When wear a safety shoes, in cold weather, serious disease could be occur such as frostbitten and so on. In the study replacees steel toe-cap by polymer. When it replace by polymer, Moreover add keeping warm, light weighting, chemicals-proof. Nowadays plastic material can exchanged from metal, because of rapid growth in engineering plastic and FRP. Prodcts of engineering plastic and FRP goods are equal. So we develop plastic Toe-Cap using plastic technology.

  • Polycarbonate (PC) polymer is an engineering plastic which has large tensile strength and impact resistance and is wildly used as functional parts like micro mold. Direct machining of PC materials produces lots of burrs and rough surface due to large ductility and weak heat resistance and hence it is very difficult to machine PC materials using cutting tool to make micro-parts. In this study, elliptical vibration cutting (EVC) or 2-dimensional vibration cutting was performed to minimize the size of micro V-grooves on PC material. From the experimental results, it was observed that as the cutting depth and pattern size become smaller, the better machining quality was obtained, which is attributed to the positive effect of EVC that is dependent on the ratio of vibration amplitude to cutting depth. As the height of V-groove becomes less than $1.8{\mu}m$, however, the machining quality becomes lower as the pattern size decreases.

  • Liquid crystal alignments on a rubbed polyimide layer were investigated by using optical transmission method. Using this technique, we also studied the pretilt angle of the polymer molecules near the surface of a side-chain polymer layer as a function of the rubbing strength. In particular, we obtained the optical characteristics of liquid crystal orientations and pretilt angles for LC cell photo-aligned by UV as well after rubbing alignment. High pretilt angle of 3.84 degree was obtained on the weekly rubbed polymide layer duribg UV irradation time of 60min.

  • The electron drift mobility of poly(4,4'-cyclohexylidenediphenyl carbonate) (PC-Z) doped with 3,5-dimethy-3,5-di-t-butylstilbenequinone(MBSQ), 3,5,3,5-tetra-t-butyl stilbenequinone(TBSQ) and 3,5,3,5-tetra-methyl stilbenequinone(TMSQ) was measured by the time-of-flight technique. The electric field and temperature dependences of the electron drift mobility were discussed with Poole-Frenkel, Arrhenius formulations and non-Arrhenius type of temperature dependence. It was assumed that the hopping sites were Gaussian distribution. Mobility and activation energy of MBSQ were increased with increasing dopant. However, mobilities and activation energy of TBSQ and TMSQ were increased and decreased, respectively.

  • Electrical properties such as surface flashover discharge and discharge degradations of insulating materials for superconducting cable have been investigated. It is found that the surface voltage is proportional to /$\^$0.7/(/: discharge length) in LHe(Liquid Helium). V-t characteristic LHe were a n=5.5 that was less than liquid N$_2$. After applied AC voltage, the surface condition of polymer films were observed non-eroded area and eroded area. The eroded area is depending on the applied voltage. In case of LHe, the crack was observed.

  • The Langmuir monolayers of polyamic acid salts with three kinds of alkyl chains have been investigated by means of conventional $\pi$-A isotherms and second harmonic generation measurements proposed in this paper. The surface molecular density dependence of second harmonic intensity clearly shows the region of aggregation while corresponding $\pi$-A isotherm doesn't show any changes in the surface morphology at the same region. The surface morphology analysis based on the second harmonic measurement was consistent with the Brewster angle microscope measurement results.

  • The purpose of this study is to research and develop conducting polymer(CP) composite electrode for supercapacitor. Supercapactior cell of CP composite electrode with 1M LiClO$_4$/PC brings out good capacitor performance below 4V. The radius of semicircle of CP composite cell with PAn composite electrode adding 15Wt% SP270(PAnS15) and PT composite electrode adding 50%wt% SP270(PTS50) was absolutely small. The total resistance of supercapacitor cell mainly depended on internal resistance of the electrode. The discharge capacitance of supercapacitor cell with PTS50(+)/PAnS15(-) in 1st and 20th cycles was 38F/g and 28F/g at current density of 1mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively.

  • In this study, we have fabricated all solid state electrochromic devices using WO$_3$ film as the working electrode, V$_2$O$\_$5/ film as the counter electrode and PEO-LiClO$_4$-PC film as the solid electrolyte. The WO$_3$ thin films for working electrode and V$_2$O$\_$5/ thin films for counter electrode were deposited onto ITO glass by vacuum evaporation and were shown good electrochromic and state properties after 1x10$\^$5/ cycles. PEO-LiClO$_4$-PC polymer electrolyte can easily be formed into thin films, do not absorb in the visible region of the light. Therefore, such electrolyte have electrochromic properties suitable for large-scale all solid-state electrochromic devices. All solid-staeelectrochromic devices fabricated in this polymer electrolyte have optical modulation of 20%∼30% at 1.5 V.

  • We synthesized a photo-crosslinkable polymide (polymide (PI)-chalcone-biphenyl (BP)) based polymer and control of pretilt angle for a nematic liquid crystal (NLC) using two kinds of the photodimerization methods by polarized UV exposure the photopolymer surfaces was studied. Pretilt angle of the NLCs using a conventional photodimerization method could be varied between 0$^{\circ}$ and 3$^{\circ}$, by controlling the condition of UV exposure. Pretilt angle of the NLCs using the conventional photodimerization method was higher than a in-situ photodimerization method.
