Cr2O3첨가 Pb(Zr0.525 Ti0.475)O3계에서의 시효거동과 전계유도 Domain 안정화 (Aging Behavior and Electric Field Induced-Domain Stabilization in Cr2O3 Doped Pb(Zr0.525 Ti0.475)O3 System)

  • Cr2O3 doped Pb(Zr0.525 Ti0.475)O3 piezoelectric ceramics were prepared from reagent grade oxide mixture, PbO, ZrO2, TiO2 and Cr2O3. Piezoelectric and aging properties of specimens were measured for various additions of Cr2O3. Generally, it has been known that aging rate decreased with Cr2O3 addition by stabilizing the domain wall. But hysteresis loops showed that the domain destabilization was occurred at high electric field (larger than 10KV/cm). In smaller additions of Cr2O3 (0-0.2mol%), aging rate increased and microcracks were created with increasing poling filed due to increasing internal stress. In larger additions of Cr2O3(0.4∼0.6mol%), aging rate decreased with increasing poling field.

Effect of Poling Electric Field and Temperature Change on the Dielectric Anomalies of Relaxor Ferroelectric Strontium-Barium-Niobate Single Crystals

  • The dielectric properties of the uniaxial relaxor ferroelectric $Sr_xBa_{1-x}Nb_2O_6$ with x = 0.75 were investigated along the polar [001] direction as a function of temperature. The capacitance maximum showed the frequency dispersion commonly observed in relaxors. Additional weak dielectric anomalies were observed in the paraelectric phase; they were only seen during the heating process and disappeared upon subsequent cooling. These were attributed to the existence of large polar clusters strongly pinned at defects and/or to random fields and their metastable characters. Aligning the ferroelectric domains along the polar axis at room temperature removed the high-temperature dielectric anomalies. The dependences of the capacitance and the dielectric maximum temperature on the magnitude of the poling field were investigated.

PZT 세라믹스의 전기기계결합계수 온도 안정성에 관한 연구 (Temperature Stability of Electro-mechanical Coupling Factors of PZT Ceramics)

  • In this paper, PZT piezoelectric ceramic specimens with 4 compositions (Zr/Ti=50/50, 53/47, 56/44, 58/42) in $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$ system were fabricated. We studied effects of poling strength and thermal aging on the temperature characteristics of eletromechanical coupling factor k31 of the specimens, which were poled with the DC electric fields, 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 kV/mm respectively and thermally aged for an hour at $200^{\circ}C$. The eletromechanical coupling factor k31 of the specimen with the composition Zr/Ti= 53/47, nearest to the morphotropic phase boundary decreased the most greatly, irrelevant to the intensity of poling field, due to 1st thermal aging. And the temperature coefficient of eletromechanical coupling factor k31 was (-) in the tetragonal phase composition and (+) in the rhombohedral phase composition, which is reverse in the temperature coefficient of resonance frequency. It is interesting that eletromechanical coupling factor k31 of PZT ceramics is shown to be able to increase as temperature increase in the interval $-20{\sim}80^{\circ}C$.

극화된 고분자에서 비선형 광학특성의 완화 (The Relaxation of Nonlinear Optical Properties in a Poled Polymer)

  • The relaxation behavior of aligned electric dipoles in a mixed polymer of P2ANS with P(VDF-TrFE) is studied with optical second harmonic generation (SHG). In this work, a macroscopic noncentrosymmetry of the spin coated film was achieved by an electrical poling. The relaxation of induced polar order of nonlinear optic(NLO) chromophores after poling leads to an insufficient long-term stability of NLO properties. In this work, we develop a new technique to suppress such kind of dipole relaxation in a poled polymer. We found that the poled dipoles in a NLO polymer were effectively immobilized by the internal electric field created by a thermally annealed ferroelectric polymer. The long-term stability in a mixed system of NLO polymer/ferroelectric polymer was successively accomplished by a series of thermal treatments applied to the mixed polymer system at a temperature of $140^{\circ}C$ for at least 1hour after poling.

  • In this study, in order to develop Pb-free piezoelectric ceramics, $[Li_{0.04}(Na_{0.44}K_{0.52)-(Nb_{0.86}Ta_{0.10}Sb_{0.04})]O_3$ ceramics were fabricated by conventional mixed oxide method and their piezoelectric characteristics were investigated according to the poling condition. The transition temperature from orthorhombic phase to tetragonal phase observed at $93[^{\circ}C]$ and Curie temperature was $346[^{\circ}C]$. At $50[^{\circ}C]$ poling temperature, dielectric constant, electromecha nical coupling factor kp, piezoelectric $d_{33}$ const ant, coercive field Ec, remanant polarization Pr and mechanical quality factor Qm showed the optimum value of 737, 0.45, 209[pC/N], 1l.34[kV/cm], $7.14[{\mu}C/cm^2]$ and 205, respectively.

  • Ferroelectric $Sr_{0.3}Ba_{0.7}Nb_{2}O_{6}$ (SBN30) thin films were deposited on Pt/Ti/$SiO_{2}$/Si(100) substrates by ion beam sputtering. During annealing treatment at $750^{\circ}C$, poling was attempted by applying dc voltage bias across polished surfaces. Phase relation, microstructure and crystallization behavior were examined using XRD and FE-SEM. Ferroelectric hysteresis characteristics were also determined where both remanent polarization and coercive values decreased with the increase of bias voltage. The measured remanent polarization and coercive field values at 5 V and 10 V bias were $36{\mu}C/cm^2$, $10{\mu}C/cm^2$ and 100kV /cm, 80kV /cm, respectively.

Poling된 실리카 유리의 2차비선형광학효과와 공간전하분극의 관계 (Induced Second Order Optical Nonlinearity in Thermally Poled Silica Glasses)

  • The cause of Scond Harmonic Generation (SHG) in thermally poled silica glass is suggested basedon the electrical and dielectric relaxation measurements. The absorption currents as functions of time were measured for various types of silica glasses and analyzed by the theory of Space Charge Polarization. Space charge polarization occurs when an ionic conducting material is subjected to dc electric field with blocking electrode. Thermal poling performed to induce SHG in silica glass is basically identical to the process generating space charge polarization. Hence it was found that gene-ration removal reproduction and temperature dependence of SHG in poled silica is directly related to those of space charge polarization. It turned out that the fundamental parameters governing the SHG in poled silica are charge carrier concentration and mobility. Based on the theory of space charge polarization and experimental results of electrical rela-xation the method to increase the intensity of SHG is proposed.

BaTiO3-Poly Vinylidene Fluoride 복합 압전발전기의 출력특성에 미치는 배합비와 분극의 효과 (Effects of Mixing Ratio and Poling on Output Characteristics of BaTiO3-Poly Vinylidene Fluoride Composite Piezoelectric Generators)

  • BaTiO3-Poly vinylidene fluoride (PVDF) solution was prepared by adding 0~25 wt% BaTiO3 nanopowder and 10 wt% PVDF powder in solvent. BaTiO3-PVDF film was fabricated by spreading the solution on a glass with a doctor blade. The output performance increased with increasing BaTiO3 concentration. When the BaTiO3 concentration was 20 wt%, the output voltage and current were 4.98 V and 1.03 ㎂ at an applied force of 100 N. However, they decreased when the over 20 wt% BaTiO3 powder was added, due to the aggregation of particles. To enhance the output performance, the generator was poled with an electric field of 150~250 kV/cm at 100 ℃ for 12 h. The output performance increased with increasing electric field. The output voltage and current were 7.87 V and 2.5 ㎂ when poled with a 200 kV/cm electric field. This result seems likely to be caused by the c-axis alignment of the BaTiO3 after poling treatment. XRD patterns of the poled BaTiO3-PVDF films showed that the intensity of the (002) peak increased under high electric field. However, when the generator was poled with 250 kV/cm, the output performance of the generator degraded due to breakdown of the BaTiO3-PVDF film. When the generator was matched with 800 Ω resistance, the power density of the generator reached 1.74 mW/m2. The generator was able to charge a 10 ㎌ capacitor up to 1.11 V and turn on 10 red LEDs.

Crescent-shaped Input Type 원형압전변압기의 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Circular Piezoelectric Transformer which has Crescent-shaped Input Type)

  • This paper presents a new disk-type piezoelectric transformer. The input side of the transformer has a crescent-shaped electrode and the output side has a focused poling direction. The piezoelectric transformers operated in each transformer's resonance vibration mode. The electrodes and poling directions on commercially available piezoelectric ceramic disks were designed so that the planar or shear mode coupling factor $(k_p\;k_{15})$ becomes effective rather than the transverse mode coupling factor $(k_{31})$. ANSYS finite element code was used to analyze transformer behavior and to optimize electrode and poling configurations. The voltage step-up ratio of the proposed transformer has been markedly improved in comparison with that of the equivalent rectangular(Rosen) type. A single layer prototype transformer, $20\sim30mm$ in diameter and $1.0\sim3.5mm$ thick, was fabricated, such as step-up ratio, power transformation efficiency, and temperature were measured. While the transformer was driving a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp(CCFL), the temperature field of the transformer was also observed.

  • Ti 확산 리튬나오베이트 채널 광도파로의 z-축 분극을 주기적으로 $180^{\circ}$ 위상 변화시키는 Ti:PPLN 제작 공정을 검토하고, 개선하였다. 분극반전 공정에 적합한 지그와 Labview 프로그램을 이용하여 전하량 제어시스템을 고안하였다. 분극반전에 필요한 전하량으로부터 분극에 적절한 고전압 펄스와 duty-cycle을 조절하였으며, 분극에 필요한 임계 전압 보다 작은 전압을 인가한 상태에서 누설전류의 변화를 관찰하여 절연파괴 현상을 또한 최소화하였다.
