  • A series of novel polytriazoleimides were prepared from various aromatic dianhydrides and a new kind of 1,2,3-triazole-containing aromatic diamine synthesized by the Cu (I)-catalyzed 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction in DMAc, and characterized by FT-IR, $^1H$-NMR, XRD, DSC and TGA techniques. The results show the polytriazoleimides are soluble in most of strong polar solvents and have inherent viscosity values of 0.51-0.62 dL/g(DMAc). The polytriazoleimide films exhibit a tensile strength of 62.3-104.5 MPa and an elongation at breakage of 4.0-8.1%, a glass transition temperature ($T_g$) of $257-275^{\circ}C$, a decomposition temperature (at 5% weight loss) of $350-401^{\circ}C$ in $N_2$ atmosphere, and a dielectric constant of 2.47-3.01 at 10 MHz, which depend on the structure of the polymers. The polytriazoleimides perform good resistance to acid and alkali solution.

  • We analyze high dispersion emission lines of the symbiotic nova AG Pegasi, observed in 1998, 2001, and 2002. The Hα and Hβ lines show three components, two narrow and one underlying broad line components, but most other lines, such as HI, HeI, and HeII lines, show two blue- and red-shifted components only. A recent study by Lee & Hyung (2018) suggested that the double Gaussian lines emitted from a bipolar conical shell are likely to form Raman scattering lines observed in 1998. In this study, we show that the bipolar cone with an opening angle of 74°, which expands at a velocity of 70 km s-1 along the polar axis of the white dwarf, can accommodate the observed double line profiles in 1998, 2001, and 2002. We conclude that the emission zone of the bipolar conical shell, which formed along the bipolar axis of the white dwarf due to the collimation by the accretion disk, is responsible for the double Gaussian profiles.

  • Reactions of [PtCl$_4$]$^{2-}$ with excess of dithiocarbamates in water lead to facile replacement of the chloro ligand by dithiocarbamato ligand to give [Pt(A)], [Pt(B)$_2$]Cl$_2$, [Pt(C)$_2$], and [Pt(D)(CH$_2$=CH$_2$)Cl]Cl. The complexes of platinum have been characterized by elemental analyses, infrared and UV-visible spectra, and conductivity measurements. Platinum(II)-dithiocarbamate complexes were soluble in polar solvents such as water, alcohol, acetone, dimethylformamide, and dimethylsulfoxide etc. The possible structure was proposed on the basis of elemental analyses and physical properties.

  • Understanding soil microbial community structure in the Arctic is essential for predicting the impact of climate change on interactions between organisms living in polar environments. The hypothesis of the present study was that soil microbial communities and soil chemical characteristics would vary depending on their associated plant species and local environments in Arctic mature soils. We analyzed soil bacterial communities and soil chemical characteristics from soil without vegetation (bare soil) and rhizosphere soil of three Arctic plants (Cassiope tetragona [L.] D. Don, Dryas octopetala L. and Silene acaulis [L.] Jacq.) in different local environments (coal-mined site and seashore-adjacent site). We did not observe any clear differences in microbial community structure in samples belonging to different plant rhizospheres; however, samples from different environmental sites had distinct microbial community structure. The samples from coal-mined site had a relatively higher abundance of Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes. On the other hand, Acidobacteria was more prevalent in seashore-adjacent samples. The relative abundance of Proteobacteria and Acidobacteria decreased toward higher soil pH, whereas that of Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes was positively correlated with soil pH. Our results suggest that soil bacterial community dissimilarity can be driven by spatial heterogeneity in deglaciated mature soil. Furthermore, these results indicate that soil microbial composition and relative abundance are more affected by soil pH, an abiotic factor, than plant species, a biotic factor.

  • A Electrostatic chuck is a device that fixes the substrate, using the force between charges applied between two parallel plates to attract substrates such as wafers or OLED panels. Unlike mechanical suction methods, which rely on physical fixation, this method utilizes the force of electrostatics for fixation, making it important to verify the adhesion force. As the size of the substrate increases, deformations due to gravity or chucking force also increase, and the adhesion force decreases rapidly as the distance between the chuck and the substrate increases. The outlook for displays is shifting from small to large OLEDs, necessitating consideration of substrate deformations. In this paper, to confirm the deformation of the substrate through various patterns, a simplified 2D model using Ansys' electromagnetic field analysis program, Maxwell, and the static structural analysis program, Mechanical, was utilized to observe changes in adhesion force according to the variation in the air gap between the substrate and the chuck. Additionally, the chucking force was analyzed for the size of the substrate, and the deformation of the substrate was confirmed when gravity and chucking force act simultaneously.

  • This paper is to assess the state of climate over East Asia and Korea during 2015/16 winter. There was a distinct intraseasonal climate variation during the period: the record-breaking warmth in December 2015 vs. strong cold surge outbreaks in January 2016. It is suggested that the anomalous warming in December 2015 was contributed by an intensification of Kuroshio anticyclone associated with 2015/16 El $Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ and polar vortex intensification. In January 2016, a strong cold surge outbroke over East Asia bringing severe cold more than two weeks. The cold surge was a blocking-type one which followed extremely negative AO developed from early January. It was suggested that the intensification of cold surge might be contributed indirectly by a strong Arctic warming and MJO activity during the period.

  • Forbush Decreases (FD) are transient, sudden reductions of cosmic ray (CR) intensity lasting a few days, to a week. Such events are observed globally using ground neutron monitors (NMs). Most studies of FD events indicate that an FD event is observed simultaneously at NM stations located all over the Earth. However, using statistical analysis, previous researchers verified that while FD events could occur simultaneously, in some cases, FD events could occur non-simultaneously. Previous studies confirmed the statistical reality of non-simultaneous FD events and the mechanism by which they occur, using data from high-latitude and middle-latitude NM stations. In this study, we used long-term data (1971-2006) from middle-latitude NM stations (Irkutsk, Climax, and Jungfraujoch) to enhance statistical reliability. According to the results from this analysis, the variation of cosmic ray intensity during the main phase, is larger (statistically significant) for simultaneous FD events, than for non-simultaneous ones. Moreover, the distribution of main-phase-onset time shows differences that are statistically significant. While the onset times for the simultaneous FDs are distributed evenly over 24-hour intervals (day and night), those of non-simultaneous FDs are mostly distributed over 12-hour intervals, in daytime. Thus, the existence of the two kinds of FD events, according to differences in their statistical properties, were verified based on data from middle-latitude NM stations.

  • Let H be a separable complex H be a space and let (equation omitted)(H) be the *-algebra of all bounded linear operators on H. An operator T in (equation omitted)(H) is said to be p-hyponormal if ($T^{\ast}T)^p - (TT^{\ast})^{p}\geq$ 0 for 0 < p < 1. If p = 1, T is hyponormal and if p = $\frac{1}{2}$, T is semi-hyponormal. In this paper, by using a technique introduced by S. K. Berberian, we show that the approximate point spectrum $\sigma_{\alpha p}(T) of a pure p-hyponormal operator T is empty, and obtains the compact perturbation of T.

  • It was found that 14 coastal habitats in South Korea have comparetively natural vegetation. The habitats were classified into three types - intertidal flats, sand dunes, and estuaries. There were four intertidal flats, five sand dunes and five estuaries. Except for Cynodon dactylon and Tetragonia tetragonoides, all of the main halophytes and sand dune plants were found in the habitats. These two species were mainly distributed on the southern coast. This study identified coastal vegetation, such as pure stands of Suaeda japonica on intertidal flats, mixed halophyte communities around the high-water mark, pure stands of Vitex rotundifolia on stable sand dunes, mixed communities dominated by Carex kobomugi on unstable sand dunes, and pure stands of Phragmites communis in estuaries. The types of coastal vegetation may depend on sediment types, the inundation time of seawater and the stability of sediments.
