  • In this paper, we developed enzyme electrode of a new form to improve performance of disposable glucose sensor. We could fabricate electrode of Cu/Ni/Au structure which has very low electrical resistance (0.1 $\Omega$) by sticking copper film to plastic film with laminating method and electro-plated nickle and gold on it. The enzyme electrode was completed by immobilizing enzyme on the fabricated electrode. The fabricated glucose sensor has very quick sensing time as 3 seconds, and excellent reproducibility, fabrication yield as well.

  • Electroformed part is widely used in modem manufacturing industries, especially semi-conductor division. It is basically a specialized form of electroplating. So, it has very similar parameters with electroplating. The object of this study is development of the fine metal mask by electroforming process. In this paper considered two parameters. The first is relationship of UV exposure and soft baking time. The other one is thickness uniformity of electroformed parts by distance of between electrodes. This paper presents the fabrication method of fine metal mask by electroforming process.

  • Electropolishing is the controlled electrochemical removal of surface metal, resultmg in a brilliant appearance andimproved properties. Sometimes described as "reverse plating," the process has a leveling effect, which produces smoothnessand increased reflectivity. Unlike conventional mechanical finishing systems, the electropolishing does not smear, bend, stress or fracture the crystalline metal surface to achieve smoothness. Instead, electropolishing removes metal from thesurface producing a unidirectional pattern that is stress-free, microscopically smooth and often highly reflective. In addition, improved corrosion resistance and passivity are achieved on many ferrous and some non-ferrous alloys. Pure aluminium doesnot electropolish well, if at all, but most other alloys of aluminum electropolish excellently. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the characteristics of electropolishing aluminium alloy in term of currentdensity, machining time, temperature, electrode gap and workpiece surface measurementkpiece surface measurement

  • A method is described for the determination of the Po nuclides in a water sample. After the Po nuclides were purified from interfering elements in a water sample using a manganese dioxide precipitation followed by a solvent extraction method, the Po nuclides were deposited onto the silver plate. A large volume of the water sample was effectively pretreated with manganese dioxide precipitation method. To determine the optimum conditions for plating Po, the effects of the pH, volume, temperature and time on the Po deposition were investigated in hydrochloric acid solution. The investigated determination method of Po nuclides with solvent extraction was applied to a tap water sample.

  • By using AIP(Arc Ion Plating) of a physical vapor deposition for the first time in Korea a ceramic tool whose surface is coated single layeredly with TiN is developed. In addition, cutting resistance appearing in the process of finishing cut of hardened carbon tool steel, STC3 is studied. The principal and radial components of cutting resistance in those cutting conditions appear to be the same or similar, and the feed component is relatively small. The feed component is found to be in proportion to cutting width, and the radial component in proportion to cutting thickness. Owing to coating the cutting resistance of a TiN coated ceramic tool increases compared with that of a general ceramic tool.

  • The deposition conditions for plating polonium have been optimized with deposition parameters such as pH, volume and temperature of the deposition and deposition time. In the tap water, the chemical yields of polonium forthe deposition solution adjusted to pH 0 were higher than those for the deposition solution adjusted to pH 2. This modified auto-deposition method made it possible to obtain reliable data of activity concentration of Po-210.

  • A micro particle manipulator, which is devised for trapping particles at fixed positions by negative dielectrophoretic force (DEP force), has been fabricated and experimented. It is composed of square type electrode arrays fabricated by nickel electroplating with the height of 28 ${\mu}m$. To improve the quality of electroplated nickel electrodes, plating conditions have been optimized. Micro particles used in this study are polystyrene spheres and their to the specific position and trapped. The DEP force along the moving path of the particles has been estimated by the motion equation of a single particle. The displacement of a particle with an elapsed time was measured using a high-speed camera (1000 frames/sec). The velocity and acceleration of the particle were calculated from the measured data. The DEP force acting on the particle was estimated.

  • Understanding of 'spatial' pressure distribution is required to determine design loads on local structures, such as plating and framing. However, obtaining a practical 'spatial' pressure distribution is a hard task due to the sensitivity of the data acquisition frequency and resolution. High-resolution Pessure-Idicating Flm (PIF) was applied to obtain pressure distribution and pressure magnitude using stepped crushing method. Different types of PIF were stacked at each test to creating a pressure distribution plot at specific time steps. Two different concepts of plotting 'spatial' pressure-area curve was introduced and evaluated. Diverse unit pixel size was chosen to investigate the effect of the resolution in data analysis. Activated area was not significantly affected by unit pixel size; however, total force was highly sensitive.

  • We prepared a Ni-ferrite encapsulated Mo-permalloy powder through simple electroless plating and heat treatment. It was observed that Ni-ferrite particles formed in a spherical form on each Mo-permalloy grain. The microstructure and the magnetic characteristics of the encapsulated powders depended strongly on oxidation time in the heat-treatment. When the powder was oxidized for 60 min, a dense Ni-ferrite layer covered the Mo-permalloy grain, which in turn exhibited high saturation magnetization of 85.8 emu/g. The magnetic core prepared additionally with the encapsulated powder exhibited a resonant frequency of 12 kHz.

  • As a new approach to substitute for a hard alloy of stellite 6B containing Co which is radioactive in nuclear system, a hard-phase coating of CrN will be applicable to protect 12Cr steel from erosion at leading edge on steam turbine blade. The CrN coating was prepared by arc ion plating on 12 Cr steel and was undertaken in liquid impact test at the velocity of 35Om/sec, which simulate the environment in the last stage of blade. The erosion resistance of coating was evaluated by optical observation on damaged surface. The threshold number of impact was closely related with surface hardness. And thus, it was confirmed that surface hardening improves the life time of steam turbine blade.
