  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the future direction of in-vehicle app development and service, the relationship between potential customers' intention to use and the factors that affect it was explored. It was also checked whether the two types of app development platform and the experience of the existing smartphone app platform had a moderating effect on these relationships. Design/methodology/approach Data was gathered through surveys, collecting responses from 904 potential consumers of vehicle app services in Korea. Structural equation modeling was utilized to analyze the data. Findings According to the empirical analysis result, it was found that potential customers considered enjoyment as the most important benefit factor in in-vehicle app service, and the most important external factor affecting enjoyment was functional compatibility with smartphone. The type of vehicle app development platform did not have a meaningful moderating effect on the factor relationship, whereas the smartphone app platform experience showed a meaningful moderating effect on the relationship between factors. It was analyzed that the risk of app performance, personal information privacy, and driving safety data did not have a negative effect on the intention to use the vehicle app service.

  • As a way to solve the side effects of urban development, a smart city with information and communication technology converges in the city is being built. For this, a smart city platform should support the development and integration of smart city services. Therefore, the underlying technology and the functional and non-functional requirements that the smart platform must support were analyzed. As a result of this, we classified the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data and cyber-physical systems into four categories as the underlying technologies supported by the smart city platform, and derived the functional and non-functional requirements that can be implemented and the reference model of the smart city platform. The reference model of the smart city platform is used for decision-making on investment in infrastructure technology and the development scope of services according to functional or non-functional requirements to solve specific city problems for city managers. It provides platform developers with guidelines to identify and determine the functional and non-functional requirements and implementation technologies of software platforms for building smart cities.

  • This paper reports the development of a platform for tracking and analysis of animal locomotion. The platform is composed of a commercial webcam, a metal stand for the webcam, and a plastic bathtub as a cage. Using it, researchers can track and analyze an animal's movement within the plastic bathtub's dimensions of $100cm{\times}100cm{\times}55cm$ in a cost-effective manner. After recording the locomotion of an animal with $1920{\times}1080$ resolution at a rate of 30 frames per second, finding the position of the animal in each frame and analyzing the ambulation pattern were executed with custom software. To evaluate the performance of the platform, movements of imprinting control region mice and transgenic mice were recorded and analyzed. The analysis successfully compared velocity, moving pattern, and total moving distance for the two mouse groups. In addition, the developed platform can be used not only in simple motion analysis but also in various experimental conditions, such as a water maze, by easy customization of the platform. Such a simple and cost-effective platform yields a powerful tool for animal ambulatory analysis.

  • In this paper, we proposed the development of a smart factory intergrated technology education platform using smart factory based CPPS (Cyber Physical Production System) and VR (Vitrual Reality) technology and educational methods using the platform. A platform has been developed to learn how to integrate 3D digital twin and BOP (Bill of Process)-based manufacturing processes. In addition, Digital Twin established a smart factory-based integrated education platform by linking mechanical systems, digital twins, and virtual reality through the OPC-UA server. Based on this platform, the smart factory integration platform is proposed to have individual elements of the smart factory integration platform through BOP-based digital twin simulation, OPC-UA integration, MES system, SCADA system, and VR interworking.

  • South Korea is at an important juncture in its history to decide whether to continue its investment to become a first-mover of artificial intelligence (A.I.) platform technology or stay as a fast follower. This paper compares South Korea's A.I. platform capacity to that of the United States, China and the European Union by reviewing publicly opened documents and reports on AI platform strategies and policies using the three elements of the national innovation capacity: common innovation infrastructure, cluster-specific conditions, and quality of linkages. This paper found three major areas the South Korean government can focus on in the A.I. platform industry. First, South Korea needs to increase its investment in the A.I. field and expand its public-private collaboration activities. Second, unlike the U.S. and the U.K., South Korea lacks data protection policies. Third, South Korea needs to build a high-performance system and environment to experiment with artificial intelligence technology and big data.

  • Capacity building for bioinformatics could be achieved with the systematic training of research staff and higher degree students in the current best practices for analysis of data from 'omic-type experiments. It is anticipated that the KOICA-University of the Philippines Los Baños - International Rice Research Insitute Agricultural Genomics Research Center activities will focus on the use of next generation sequencing technology for genome sequencing and annotation, genome variant discovery for use in GWAS and QTL mapping, and transcriptome analysis of organisms important to agriculture and food security. Such activities require that researchers have high levels of knowledge and skills in bioinformatics in order to gain insights from the results of the experiments performed. In this talk the bioinformatic tools/solutions and online training materials already available will be presented, as well the upcoming resources under development in support of the project.

  • USM(Unit Service Management System) is the development tool and methodology to handling the event process in a U-City integrated platform by using the minimum unit services. USM can be one of the SOA development methodology. Minimum unit service has a minimum business logic that can be executed with input and output parameters. Minimum unit service consists of three parts : service profile, service input and output parameters and service execution information. USM provides two types of the execution method. One is module execution and the other is web service execution. The development of the event sinario by the USM development methodology can reduce the cost and duration of the u-service development by raising the rate of reusing minimum unit service.

  • We look at the business model development of a fan community platform 'Weverse' from two-sided platform (TSP) to multi-sided platform (MSP) and investigate its platform business model. From the Rocket Model's theoretical perspective, the results reveal that Weverse firstly focuses on inviting artists as many as possible starting from BTS, then attracts new artists' fans naturally. For success of this TSP, it forms MSP, 'Weverse Shop' to meet two sides' relevant needs timely and filtered. In third stage of connection, various partnerships are attempted in terms of open platform strategies. For instance, by combining 'VLive' and Weverse, Naver's fan platform business is transferred to Weverse. For core transaction through direct and indirect monetization, several cobranding activities are tried. Lastly, regarding optimization, newly born Weverse being launched in the first half of 2022 is supposed to create further synergies with Naver's R&D capabilities in data, AI, and other technologies like metaverse platform 'ZEPETO' which already sells clothing items of Weverse artists.
