힘판을 이용한 들기 작업시의 경사면 분석 (Analysis of Sloping Ground When Lifting with Force Platform)

  • 최근 들어 산업현장에서는 생산성의 향상, 노무비의 증가 및 노동력의 부족, 안전성 등을 이유로 자동생산시스템과 운반용 동력기계와 같은 기구를 도입하여 작업자 스스로가 자신의 근력을 이용한 인력운반(Manual Materials Handling : MMH) 작업이 줄어들고 있는 추세라고 하지만, 실제로 비탈진 경사면에 위치한 농장이나 과수원, 항만부두의 하역작업, 경사진 벌목장 작업, 광산의 막장에서의 작업등과 같이 주변환경이 복잡한 현장에서의 작업은 기계로 완전히 대체하기가 어려운 실정이다. 그러므로, 이러한 작업현장에서는 인간이 직접 손 운반작업(들기 작업)을 할 수밖에 없으며, 이와 같은 경사면에서의 손 운반작업(들기 작업)은 작업자에게 많은 재해의 위험성을 만들어 주며, 추락으로 인한 산업재해는 물론이고 미끄러짐 방지 같은 신체균형잡기 노력은 근골격 계통에 과도한 무리를 주게 되어 LBP의 원인이 되기도 한다. 하지만, 이러한 경사면에서의 손 운반작업(들기 작업)에 대한 연구에 대해서는 거의 없는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 force platform을 이용하여 경사면에서의 손 운반작업(들기 작업)을 통한 COP변화를 측정 ·분석하여 작업자들의 산업재해를 예방하고자 하며, 향후 이러한 기초 자료를 통하여 손 운반작업(들기 작업)뿐만 아니라 그 밖의 응용분야에 기여하고자 한다.

온라인 취미 플랫폼의 사용자 경험 연구 -미술 분야를 중심으로- (A study on the User Experience of Online Hobby Platform -Focused on the Art Field-)

  • 이 연구는 시공간의 제약을 줄이고 접근성을 낮추는 미술 분야를 중심으로 온라인 취미 클래스 플랫폼의 사용자 경험을 분석하고, 더 나은 사용 경험을 제안하는 데 중점을 두었다. 이를 위해 국내외 온라인 취미 클래스 플랫폼의 사례를 조사하고 국내 2,30대 대학생과 직장인들을 대상으로 사용자 경험을 측정하기 위한 설문을 진행하였다. 연구결과, 사용자 경험을 만족하는 요소와 현재 국내 서비스와의 간극을 발견하였고, 이를 좁히기 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 여가문화 시장에 온라인 취미 클래스 플랫폼을 더욱 활성화하기 위한 방안을 제안하였다는 데에 의의가 있다. 이 연구가 향후 온라인 취미활동 플랫폼의 사용자 경험에 대한 자료로 활용되고 나아가 실질적 활성화 방안을 논의하는 데에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.

모바일 머니퓰레이터의 작업을 위한 카메라 보정 및 포즈 추정 (Camera Calibration and Pose Estimation for Tasks of a Mobile Manipulator)

  • Workers have been replaced by mobile manipulators for factory automation in recent years. One of the typical tasks for automation is that a mobile manipulator moves to a target location and picks and places an object on the worktable. However, due to the pose estimation error of the mobile platform, the robot cannot reach the exact target position, which prevents the manipulator from being able to accurately pick and place the object on the worktable. In this study, we developed an automatic alignment system using a low-cost camera mounted on the end-effector of a collaborative robot. Camera calibration and pose estimation methods were also proposed for the automatic alignment system. This algorithm uses a markerboard composed of markers to calibrate the camera and then precisely estimate the camera pose. Experimental results demonstrate that the mobile manipulator can perform successful pick and place tasks on various conditions.

이동로봇을 이용한 원전 내부 감시점검에 관한 연구 (A Study of Nuclear Power Plant Inspection Tasks Using A Mobile Robot)

  • In this paper, we presents the remote inspection activity with a mobile robot at the calandria face areas of the PHWR (pressurized heavy water reactor) nuclear power plants during full power plant operation.. The tele-operated mobile robot has been developed for this task. A 4 wheeled mechanism with the dual reconfigurable crawler arm has been adopted for the ease access to the high radiation area of calandria face. A specially designed extendable long reach mast attached on the mobile platform and the thermal image monitoring system enable human eyes to look into the calandria face. Application of robot will keep human workers from high radiation exposure and enhance the reliability of nuclear power plants.

Study on Fall Protection from Scaffolds by Plastic Sheets

  • In Japan, protective measures to reduce falls from scaffolds have been strictly applied within industry safety guidelines, and such measures have significantly decreased fatal accidents due to falls from scaffolds. However, the rate of fatal accidents from falls is still high in the construction industries. In order to examine further countermeasures to reduce such falls, the Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare established a committee in our institute. That committee$\acute{i}$s work experimentally confirmed the effectiveness of using plastic sheets as a covering around scaffolds to protect against falls of construction materials (a method widely used in Japan). However, the workers fell from the space between the work platform and the plastic sheets very occasionally. Based on those results, the plastic sheets were improved for fall protection from the space, and the effect of the improved sheets was confirmed experimentally.

  • It is important to select the correct disinfectants and to use them appropriately in order to prevent the initial spread of highly infectious livestock disease, such as foot-and-mouth disease or highly pathogenic avian influenza. This study describes a smartphone application developed to enable livestock workers to observe information related to disinfectants for the prevention of livestock disease in the domestic market, regardless of time and location, through a Linux-based Android mobile platform. This application (Konkuk-Disinfectant Information Database) provides information on disinfectant names, components, license and use; it was designed to enable the user to share disinfectant information through social media.

Arrival at the Caspian Coast: Migration, Informality and Urban Transformation in Sumqayit, Azerbaijan

  • The city of Sumqayit in Azerbaijan was famous in the USSR for its chemical plants, which supplied the whole country with plastics, detergents, and fertilizers. While production increased in the post-WWII period, young people from remote Caucasian villages were attracted as workers to the industrial settlement on the shore of the Caspian Sea and worked together with specialists from all over the USSR. Migration did not stop when the USSR collapsed. To the contrary, mobility increased as Azerbaijani refugees from Armenia and IDPs from Karabakh fled to Sumqayit, which grew to become the second-largest city of Azerbaijan. Although a generation has passed since the ceasefire, IDPs still are separately administered. In the last 20 years, more and more internal migrants have chosen the Greater Baku Region as their destination, mostly finding jobs in the informal labor market. In the post-independence transformative period, informal housing has offered migrants a place to stay in the city. Sumqayit can be regarded as an arrival city, an established urban platform for migrants who prefer internal over transnational migration.

EOS 블록체인 기반의 작업자 안전관리 시스템 개발 (Development for Worker Safety Management System on the EOS Blockchain)

  • 밀폐된 작업현장에서는 현장의 환경데이터가 작업자의 안전에 큰 영향을 미치므로 작업 현장의 관리가 중요하다. 이에 오늘날의 산업현장은 공장 내 센서를 통해 데이터를 수집하고 분석하는 데이터 기반 공장 형태로 바뀌어 가고 있으며, 이를 안전하게 운영하기 위한 관리시스템을 필요로 한다. 일반적으로 안전관리시스템은 중앙 서버와 데이터베이스를 통해 데이터를 저장하고 관리하는 방식으로 데이터의 위변조 및 유실 가능성이 높아 신뢰성이 다소 부족하다. 본 논문에서는 3세대 블록체인 기술인 EOS 기반의 작업자 안전관리 시스템을 개발한다. 개발된 시스템은 EOS 블록체인을 이용하기 위한 스마트 컨트랙트와 블록체인 기반으로 동작하는 3가지의 분산 애플리케이션으로 구성된다. 사용자의 역할에 따라, 작업자 및 관리자 애플리케이션은 작업의 시작과 종료에 대한 요청과 그에 따른 승인 작업을 블록체인 트랜잭션으로 수행한다. 수행된 전체 트랜잭션 히스토리는 블록체인 네트워크에 참여한 모든 노드에 분산 저장되어 사실상 데이터 위변조가 불가능하다. 시스템 운영자 애플리케이션은 작업자와 관리자에게 기능 수행에 적합한 어카운트 권한을 부여하고 작업현장의 안전성을 확보하기 위한 IoT 데이터의 적절한 기준치를 설정한다. 현장센서 플랫폼에서 받은 IoT 데이터와 작업의 흐름에 따른 요청과 승인 정보는 EOS 스마트 컨트랙트에 명시적으로 저장되고 관리된다.

비대면 화상 플랫폼에서의 패션 이미지 표현 특성 -20~30대 한국 직장인 여성을 중심으로- (Fashion Image Expression on Video Conferencing Platforms -Focusing on Korean Female Office Workers in Their 20s and 30s-)

  • Over the past three years, even amidst viral threats, a notable shift towards online interactions has been observed. This trend persists the presence of significant viral concerns. Our study centered on female office workers in their twenties and thirties in Korea, seeking to comprehend how they enhance and present their external image in the digital era. We explored the use of digital devices and fashion choices that enable them to amplify their self-expression in video conferences. Using a mix of surveys and in-depth interviews, we employed snowball sampling to recruit twelve participants. These women were given the opportunity to shape their digital persona either to uphold their current image or to adapt it for interactions where they weren't face-to-face. Their desired images fell into three distinct categories: an authoritative professional image, a clean modern image, and a natural image. Depending on the context, the participants aimed to convey these images independently or in various combinations. Our findings suggest the need to develop strategies for acknowledging and projecting individual fashion identities in non-face-to-face interactions. Such strategies would empower individuals to better align their online personas with their desired self-image, whether it's professional, modern, clean, natural, or a combination thereof.

EU REACH 이행에 사용되는 노출평가 툴의 현황과 전망 (Present and Future Perspectives on Exposure Assessment Tools Used to Implement EU REACH)

  • Background: Human health and environment exposure assessments of chemicals are essential part for REACH and BPR as well as K-REACH and K-BPR. Several useful exposure assessment tools have been developed and updated to become extensively used during more than fifteen years of chemical registrations under REACH and their updates are still going on. Objectives: Evolution of regulatory tools for environment, workers and consumers exposure assessments under REACH is investigated focusing on why and how tools have been developed and updated for the future regulatory tools in Korea. Methods: REACH regulatory tools including EUSES, ECETOC TRA and CHESAR as well as built-in models SimpleTreat and SimpleBox were chosen with other frequently used Tier 1 and 2 tools. Available resources such as homepage information, background documents, related scientific reports, relevant journal publications, up-to-date lists of new version publications, release notes and user guides were reviewed extensively and summarized using easy-readable Tables and Figures. Results: SimpleTreat and SimpleBox are built-in models both for EUSES and ECETOC TRA (Environment). ECHA's CHESAR contains ECETOC TRA (Workers) and ECETOC TRA (Consumers) as well as EUSES and ECETOC TRA (Environment) for environment exposure assessment while results of Tier 2 Stoffenmanager and ConsExpoWeb can be imported. Evolution of CHESAR from version 1 (2010) to 3.8 (2023) has focused on the compatibility of frequent updates of IUCLID, importing functionality, editability, updated use maps, harmonised conditions of use as well as updates of the built-in tools evolved according to scientific development, refinements of the tool, increased conservatism and user-friendliness. CHESAR Platform 1.0 will soon be published to serve both for REACH and BPR. Conclusions: Updates of the tools can be successfully continued by transparency of the tools, participation of industry sectors for tool refinements and tool developers'/authorities' encouragements of partners/users to jointly innovate tools through scientific researches, tool validations and user feedback.
