Purpose In online delivery platforms, platform workers are required to perform both platform labor, which is compensated with immediate wages, and shadow work which is a kind of unpaid job to support the platform labor. Thus, the objective of this study is to empirically examine how platform workers' platform labor and shadow work affect their job burnout and their turnover intention in the online delivery platform context. Design/methodology/approach This study developed a research model by employing platform labor and shadow work to influence job burnout and turnover intention. This study also tested the model by partial least square techniques after collecting 169 cross-sectional data from food delivery riders in Korea. Findings This study found that both platform labor and shadow work affected platform workers' job burnout. In addition, the results showed that shadow work influenced their turnover intention while platform labor did not affect the turnover intention. Based on the results, this study contributed to relevant researchers who are interested in platform contexts by offering measurable constructs on platform labor and shadow work. In addition, this study could provide practitioners with practical implications on managing platform workers.

Work platform is temporary material that many workers use in construction field, but many workers construct and use the work platform without considering safety standards, workers who have not the knowledge of safety standards construct the work platform in weakness and use the work platform in unstable, According to the statistics in 2009, 1230 people were injured at the work platform. Among them, victims by falling account for about 77% and mostly lead to fatal injuries. we have studied and survey about the safety or danger of the work platform(set limits to duble scaffold) in construction field and about how many workers observe safety standards of the work platform. According to the result of this survey, 24%~100%(average : 68%) of the work platform in survey is not observe the safety standards.

본 연구는 웹 기반형(web-based) 플랫폼 노동자의 임금 결정에 관한 연구이다. 이를 위해 2018년 9월 전 세계적 플랫폼 노동시장 중 하나인 Freelancer.com에서 웹 크롤링(web-crawling)한 총 3,575명의 구직자 정보를 사용하였으며, 전통적 노동시장에서 유의하였던 학력, 경력과 더불어 플랫폼 노동시장에서 새롭게 사용 가능해진 이전 고용주에 의한 평가가 플랫폼 노동자의 임금상승에 유의한 영향을 주는지 OLS 및 QR 분석방법을 사용하여 추정하였다. OLS 분석결과 플랫폼 노동자의 임금은 과거 유의하였던 학력, 경력뿐 아니라 이전 고용주에 의한 평가(리뷰 수)에 의해서도 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 다만, QR 분석결과 플랫폼 노동자의 임금수준이 상승함에 따라 교육보다는 경력이 리뷰 수보다는 추천 수가 플랫폼 노동자의 임금상승에 더욱 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

연구목적: 본 연구에서는 배달 플랫폼 종사자들을 위험으로부터 보호하기 위해 안전관리 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 연구방법: 배달 플랫폼 종사자들을 보호하기 위해 국내와 국외에서 실시하고 있는 안전 관련 법제도 및 사례를 찾아 분석하였고, 배달 플랫폼 종사자들을 대상으로 설문을 진행하여 도출된 통계 결과와 국내·외 법제도 및 사례들을 분석하고 비교하여 안전관리 개선방안을 제시하였다. 연구결과: 국내에서는 배달 플랫폼 종사자의 안전을 위해 실시하고 있는 법의 내용에서 기상악화에 대한 안전대책이 명확하게 제시되지 않았고 설문조사 결과 안전교육 또한 완벽하게 이루어지지 않고 있는 것으로 확인되었으며 배달 도중 앱이나 프로그램을 통해 호출을 받아 대다수가 사고를 경험한 것으로 확인되었다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 배달 플랫폼 종사자들을 위한 안전관리 개선 방안을 제시할 수 있었지만 이륜차와 관련된 상세한 설문 항목은 조사하지 않았기 때문에 배달 플랫폼 종사자들이 주 운송수단으로 사용하고 있는 이륜차로 인해 발생할 수 있는 다양한 사고 결과를 확인할 수 없어 이륜차를 사용하여 배달할 경우 발생할 수 있는 사고에 대한 안전관리 개선방안은 제시할 수 없었다.

Background: The present study aimed to analyze several aspects of the working conditions and health status of platform workers in the Republic of Korea, such as ergonomic and emotional hazards. We also compared the health status of the platform workers with that of the general population. Methods: A total of 1,000 platform workers participated in this survey from August 7 to August 17, 2022. The participants included 400 designated drivers, 400 food-delivery drivers, and 200 housekeeping managers. A face-to-face survey with a structured questionnaire was conducted by researchers who had received specific instructions. The focus of the survey extended to the work environment, encompassing factors such as workplace violence, as well as physical, chemical, and ergonomic hazards. Health-related data for the previous year were also collected, covering a range of issues such as hearing problems, skin problems, musculoskeletal symptoms, headaches, injuries, mental health issues, and digestive problems. Subsequently, we compared the health symptom data of the responders with those of the general population in the Republic of Korea. Results: Platform workers, including designated drivers, food-delivery drivers, and housekeeping managers, existed in the blind spot of social insurance, facing frequent exposure to physical and chemical hazards, ergonomic risk factors, and direct or indirect violence. The prevalence of health problems, including musculoskeletal symptoms, general fatigue, and depressive symptoms, in each occupational group was statistically higher than that in the general population after standardization for age and gender. Conclusion: The results revealed unfavorable working environment and inferior occupational health of platform workers compared with those of the general population.

According to the statistics of occupational injuries in 2013, the work platforms were main objects causing fall injuries in construction sites. But many scaffold and platform workers use and install the work platforms and the fixed and mobile scaffolding without considering about safety and health standards. We had done a nationwide survey about how the platform workers obey safety and health standards. As the result of this survey, in order to ensure the safety of the work platforms, we founded that the platform workers must obey the safety and health standards when using and installing the work platforms. To improve the safety and health conscious of the workers, it needs to educate a worker on safety and health standards for work platforms. Also, to effectively prevent constructin injuries for the work platforms, it is rextricted for workers to use only safety certified work platforms. And, before installing and using work platforms, it needs to make a work plan for work platforms and obey it.

Safety accidents are of concern during construction projects, even given the recent innovations in digital technologies. These projects remain focused on overcoming specific and limited applications on construction sites. For this reason, the development of an inclusive safety management system has become crucial. This study aims to build a Big Data platform to inform decisions on how to proactively eliminate worker hazards on construction sites. The platform consists of about 100,000 real records and a real-time monitored database featuring various safety indices, such as workers' altitudes, heart rates, and fatigability during construction, which are determined through various wearable devices. The data types are customized and integrated by a research team in accordance with the characteristics of a specific project using hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP). The results can be helpful as efficient tools to ensure successful safety management in complex construction situations. This study is expected to provide three significant contributions to the field, including real-time fatigability analysis and tracking of workers on-site; providing early GPS-based warnings to workers who might be accessing dangerous spaces or places; and monitoring the workers' health indices, based on details from 100,000 cases.

In this study, delivery workers were regarded as workers and industrial accident and serious accident prevention were studied. As a result of the study, first, it was confirmed that awareness of safety guidelines has an effect on disaster prevention and is related to reducing serious accidents. Second, among the forms of organizational culture, rational culture was shown to have a positive impact on serious accidents. Third, the moderating effect of organizational culture Rational culture, a sub-concept, was found to have a moderating effect on serious accidents. Fourth, according to the opinions of workers for disaster prevention of delivery workers, it was classified into policy part, environmental part, and worker's duty part, and the necessity of strengthening safety education and strong regulation was suggested in the policy part.

정보통신기술의 발전이 일의 형태와 의미 자체를 질적으로 바꿔놓고 있다. 이러한 변화는 산업경제의 사업장 노동자를 전형으로 구축되었던 기존의 사회보장제도에 대한 재조정을 촉구한다. 하지만 디지털 플랫폼 내에서의 경제활동이 산업노동과 어떤 차이가 있으며, 이에 따라 어떤 사회문제가 발생할 수 있는지, 이를 어떻게 대처해야 할지에 대한 논의는 아직 부족한 편이다. 이에 본 연구는 대표적인 플랫폼 경제활동자에 속하는 크리에이터, 공유경제 자원제공자, 앱노동자의 실태를 개괄하고, 이들의 경제활동이 산업노동과 다른 측면을 시간적 차원(유연성), 공간적 차원(가상성), 속성적 차원(연결성)으로 나누어 분석했다. 나아가 이 3가지 특성이 파생시키는 사회적 위험과 이에 대비한 사회적 안전망을 정책선례들을 들어 서술했다. 본 연구가 시론적이나마 미래의 노동방식에 적합한 사회보장제도의 방향을 모색하는 데 일조하길 바란다.

The number of accidents due to slipping, falling and awkward postures are estimated to account for over forty percent of annual industrial accidents in Korea. To prevent such accidents, stability-maintaining capabilities of workers should be understood before any other approach. This research was aimed to analyze capabilities of the workers with the help of yours male students maintaining standing postures on a tiltable stability platform. The experimental result showed that tilting direction, height of pivoting point, and permissible degree of swaying made significant effects on stability-maintaining duration. Besides, humans are more capable of maintaining their standing body postures on a platform tiltable fore and aft rather than or one tiltable sideways. The number of falling or tripping supported this phenomenon. A mechanical and physical discussion on the stability was added.
