콘크리트 파괴거동특성의 실험적 연구I-이축응력시험 (Experimental Study on Failure Behavior of Plain Concrete - Biaxial Stress Test)

  • Two different strength types of plain concrete plate specimens (200$\times$200$\times$60mm) were tested under different biaxial load combinations. The specimens were subjected to biaxial combinations covering the three regions of compression-compression, compression-tension, and tension-tension. The loading platens with Teflon pads were used to reduce a confining effect in boundary surface between the concrete specimen and the solid platen. The principal deformations in the specimens were recorded, and the failure modes along with each stress ratio were examined. Based on the strength data, the failure envelops were developed for each type of plain concrete. The biaxial stress-strain responses of concrete plate specimens for three biaxial loading regions were also plotted. The test data indicated that the strength of concrete under biaxial compression ($f_2 / f_1$$_1$=-1/-1) is about 17 percent larger than under uniaxial compression.

  • This paper describes the method of evaluating the elastic modulus of soil medium by using the Retangular Plate Loading Test. The foundaton is considered to be the elastic half-space. The stiffness matrix of elastic half space is drived using Boussinesq's analytical soulution. A numerical examples are presented to verify the validity of this procedure. Also, the numerical results are compared with those of the existing study results. The procedure proposed in this theses can be applied to the design of concrete paving resting on the elastic foundation

  • This paper summarizes full-scale test results on CFT column to flat plate connections subjected to gravity loading. CFT construction has gained wide acceptance in a relatively short time in domestic building practice due to its various structural and construction advantages. Constructing the floor as flat plate is often regarded as being essential for both cost savings and rapid construction. However, efficient details for CFT column to flat plate connections have not been proposed yet, and their development is urgently needed. Based on some strategies that include maximizing economical field construction, several connecting schemes were proposed and tested in this study. Test results showed the proposed connection details can exhibit strength and stiffness comparable to or greater than those of R/C flat plate counterpart.

Fillet Welding Joint의 파괴기구(破壞機構)와 강도(强度)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Study on Deformation and Strength of Fillet Welds)

  • The distribution of stress and strain in elastic stages is investigated by the experiments of two dimensional photoelastic coating and Moire fringe method. Center block type and cover plate type of fillet welds are used as specimens in the test. The results are as follows. 1) Center block type gets less uniform stress distribution than cover plate type. And its stress concentration factor, especially at root, is larger than that at toe. 2) When main plate and cover plate closely contact and it cause friction, stress concentration decreases more than that in case of slit. That is because stress can be transmitted on the contact surface. 3) When slit is made, the outside of fillet gets more stress than the inside of it. 4) While the plastic strain distribution of center block type reaches the maximum at root and differs very slightly from that under lower loading, the plastic strain distribution of cover plate type is inclined to get the maximum at the outside of fillet rather than at root. 5) When the plastic strain value of cover plate type is compared with that of center block type at toe and root, the relations between the former and the latter shows root<toe and root>toe. 6) Because stress distribution becomes changed according to loading, fracture angle cannot be estimated by the peaks of elastic stress distribution. 7) The strain distribution just before fracture can be found by Moire fringe method.

강판으로 접합된 프리스트레스트 콘크리트보의 구조성능 평가를 위한 실험연구 (An Experimental Research to Evaluate Structural Capacity of Pre-stressed Concrete Beam connected with Embedded Steel Plate)

  • 본 연구에서는 2,000 kN 용량의 actuator를 이용, 12 m 경간의 실물 크기로 제작된 프리스트레스트 콘크리트 보의 구조성능 평가를 위한 실험을 수행하였다. 보의 양 단에는 접합을 위한 강판을 매립하였으며 시험체는 별도로 제작된 철골 보에 고력볼트접합 방식으로 세팅되었다. 프리스트레스트 콘크리트와 슬래브 콘크리트의 설계기준강도는 각각 50 MPa와 24 MPa이며, 인장 철근으로 사용된 2-HD25 철근은 매립강판의 구성요소 중 하나인 수직강판에 용접하였다. 실험은 변위제어법에 의하여 수행되었으며 10 mm의 변위를 증가시키며 loading과 unloading을 반복적으로 가력하였다. 실험결과를 살펴보면, 탄성거동구간에서는 약 88.34%, 비탄성거동구간에서는 약 86.97% 그리고 소성거동구간에서는 약 66.83%의 프리스트레싱에 의한 변위복원능력을 나타냄을 알 수 있었다.

  • The general concept of reinforced roadbed in the high-speed railway is to cope with the soft ground for the bearing capacity and settlement of foundation soil. The cyclic plate load tests were performed to determine the behavior of reinforced ground with multiple layers of geogrid underlying by soft soil. Five series of test were conducted with varying the soil profile conditions including the ground level, type of soil, and the thickness of each soil layer. Based on these plate load tests, laboratory model tests under cyclic loading were conducted to know the effect of geogrid reinforcement in particular for the high-speed rail roadbed. The permanent settlement and the behavior of earth pressure in reinforced roadbed subjected to a combination of static and dynamic loading are presented.

An experiment on compressive profile of the unstiffened steel plate-concrete structures under compression loading

  • This study intends to examine the characteristics of compressive behavior and conducts comparative analysis between normal compressive strength under existing equations (LRFD, ACI 318, EC 4) and experimental the maximum compressive strength from the compression experiment for the unstiffened steel plate-concrete structures. The six specimens were made to evaluate the constraining factor (${\xi}$) and width ratio (${\beta}$) effects subjected to the compressive monotonic loading. Based on this experiments, the following conclusions could be made: first, compressive behaviors of the specimens from the finite element analysis closely agreed with the ones from the actual experiments; second, the higher the width ratio (${\beta}$) was, the lower the ductility index (DI) was; and third, the test results showed the maximum compressive strength with a margin by 7% compared to the existing codes.

  • This study propose cutting body portion-high strength bolts to improve deformation capacity of High strength bolts, which are the mechanical fasteners used for End-plate connection. And, we report that loading test results of steel beam-to-column connection using high deformation capacity-high strength bolts in accordance with SAC2000 loading program. As a result, the initial stiffness and the maximum strength of the connection using high deformation capacity-high strength bolts, are approximately the same in comparison with those of the end-plate connection using the existing high strength bolts. But the deformation capacity of the connection is more than twice as much as those.

L 형상 용접 프레임의 피로 실험 및 시뮬레이션 (Fatigue Test and Simulation on the Steel Welded L-Shaped Frame)

  • A fatigue test on the steel welded L-shaped frame was conducted. The frame was consisted with carbon steel tube and reinforced bracket. The four type reinforced brackets were fabricated. They were two rectangular plate reinforced bracket, two sided pentagon plate reinforced bracket, triangular plate reinforced bracket and fully reinforced bracket. The fatigue test of frame was conducted with axial tension loading. The fatigue simulation of the steel welded L-shaped frame was also performed by the finite element method with code FEMFAT. The frame of fully reinforced bracket had the highest fatigue life and reinforced quality factor.
