Exploration of suitable rice cultivars for close mixed-planting with upland-adapted cereal crop

  • In semi-arid countries such as Namibia, the flooding unexpectedly happens in a rainy season, causing losses in the yield of upland-adapted cereal crop. In flooding conditions, rice roots sequentially form aerenchyma and a barrier to radial oxygen loss (ROL), and oxygen is released into the rhizosphere near the root tips. Iijima et al. (2016) and Awala et al. (2016) reported that close mixed-planting with rice can mitigate the flood stress of co-growing upland-adapted cereal crop by modifying their rhizosphere microenvironments via the oxygen released from the rice roots. Moreover, by using the model system of hydroponic culture, it was confirmed that oxygen from rice roots was transferred to co-growing upland-adapted cereal crop in close mixed planting system (Kawato et al., 2016). However, it is not sure whether the ability of oxygen release varies among rice cultivars, because Kawato et al. (2016) used only one japonica cultivar, Nipponbare (Oryza sativa). The objective of this study was to compare the ability of oxygen release in rhizosphere among rice cultivars. The experiment was conducted in a climate chamber in Kindai University. We used 10 rice cultivars from three different rice species (O. sativa (var. japonica (2), var. indica (3)), Oryza glaberrima Steud. (2) and their interspecific progenies (3)) to compare the ability of oxygen release from the roots. According to the method by Kawato et al. (2016), the dissolved oxygen concentration of phase I (with shoot) and phase II (without shoot) were measured by a fiber optic oxygen-sensing probe. The oxygen released from rice roots was calculated from the difference of the measurements between phase I and phase II. The result in this study indicated that all of the rice cultivars released oxygen from their roots, and the amount of released oxygen was significantly correlated with the above-ground biomass (r = 0.710). The ability of oxygen release (the amount of the oxygen release per fresh root weight) of indica cultivars (O. sativa) tended to be higher as compared with the other cultivars. On the other hand, that of African rice (O. glaberrima) and the interspecific progenies tended to be lower. These results suggested that the ability of oxygen release widely varies among rice cultivars, and some of indica cultivars (O. sativa) may be suitable for close mixed-planting to mitigate flood stress of upland-adapted cereal crop.

광릉 전나무 식재기록에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Planting Records of Needle Fir in Gwangneung)

  • 본 연구는 고문헌을 통하여 광릉 전나무 식재의 사적 근거를 밝히고자 "조선왕조실록(朝鮮王朝實錄)", "승정원일기(承政院日記)", "비변사등록(備邊司謄錄)", "일성록(日省錄)" 등의 식재기록을 분석하였다. 선행 연구와 산림생태조사 및 도복된 전나무 연륜을 통하여 현재 광릉 전나무의 수령을 추정하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 능제는 가장 보수적인 체제로 광릉 조성 과정 중 식재는 전례에 따라 이루어졌을 것이다. 건원릉을 시작으로 능침수목 식재기록을 통하여 소나무, 잣나무, 버드나무가 식재되었던 것을 확인하였다. 둘째, 조선후기 능침 작벌 문제가 심각해지자 정조 22년 무오년 수교가 반포되었으며, 이후 봄 가을로 정기 식재가 이루어졌다. 정조 23년 기록을 통하여 조성 및 관리 연한이 오래된 9개 능을 대상으로 식재 주수를 파악할 수 있었으며, 광릉에는 잣나무와 잡목이 식재되었다. 셋째, 무오년 수교가 고종 치세 31년간 지켜지고 있으며, 예조별단을 통해 구체적인 식재 수종, 식재 장소, 식재 주수를 확인할 수 있었다. 고종 22년부터 25년까지 4년간 광릉에는 지속적으로 전나무가 식재되었으며 잣나무를 식재한 곳은 광릉이 유일하였다. 넷째, 도복된 전나무 연륜을 통하여 수령 파악이 가능했으며, 현존 광릉 전나무 식재 시기는 철종 10년 이후부터 고종 연간으로 판단하였다.

밀 기계화 작업체계에 의한 노력 절감 효과 (Effect of Mechanical Working System on Labor-Saving in Wheat Cultivation)

  • 밀 재배면적 확대를 위해서는 노력절감을 통하여 생산비를 낮추고 농가 소득의 증가와 더불어 수입산 밀과의 경쟁력을 향상시키고자 밀 재배 작업의 단계별 체계적인 기계화로 노력절감 및 기계 이용효율 효과를 분석한 다음과 같다. 1. 밀 재배 작업 중 복토작업이 ha당 683분이 소요되어 작업소요시간이 가장 길었으며, 파종단계인 파종, 시비와 복토작업을 한번에 할 수 있는 동시작업기 이용, 제초제 살포는 승용살포기 이용으로 노력절감을 최소화 할 수 있었다. 2. 밀 파종에서 수확까지의 작업 소요시간은 ha당 부분 기계화 작업인 관행(인력)의 118시간 대비 트랙터부 착용 살포기로 밑거름 시비와 파종+트랙터부착용 배토기로 복토+승용관리기 제초제 살포+트랙터부착용 살포기로 웃거름 살포+콤바인 수확 작업체계(작업체계 I)에서 26시간으로 78% 절감되었으며, 작업체계 I에서 파종단계인 시비, 파종, 복토 작업을 트랙터부착용 동시작업기 활용 작업(작업체계 II)으로 18시간으로 85%가 절감되었다. 3. 밀의 생육, 수량구성요소 등 모두 인력에 비해 기계파종이 짧거나 적어서 수량도 떨어지는 경향을 보였다. 따라서 기계파종 방법에 따라 적합한 파종량 설정에 관한 연구가 요구되어 졌다. 4. 기계화에 따른 기계비용 부담을 감안하여 볼 때 손익분기점은 작업체계 I은 3.7ha, 작업체계 II는 4.2 ha로 판단되었으며, 농가 소득은 ha당 각각 778,110원, 849,930원이 향상되는 효과가 있었다.

Intercropping in Rubber Plantation Ontology for a Decision Support System

  • Planting intercropping in rubber plantations is another alternative for generating more income for farmers. However, farmers still lack the knowledge of choosing plants. In addition, information for decision making comes from many sources and is knowledge accumulated by the expert. Therefore, this research aims to create a decision support system for growing rubber trees for individual farmers. It aims to get the highest income and the lowest cost by using semantic web technology so that farmers can access knowledge at all times and reduce the risk of growing crops, and also support the decision supporting system (DSS) to be more intelligent. The integrated intercropping ontology and rule are a part of the decision-making process for selecting plants that is suitable for individual rubber plots. A list of suitable plants is important for decision variables in the allocation of planting areas for each type of plant for multiple purposes. This article presents designing and developing the intercropping ontology for DSS which defines a class based on the principle of intercropping in rubber plantations. It is grouped according to the characteristics and condition of the area of the farmer as a concept of the rubber plantation. It consists of the age of rubber tree, spacing between rows of rubber trees, and water sources for use in agriculture and soil group, including slope, drainage, depth of soil, etc. The use of ontology for recommended plants suitable for individual farmers makes a contribution to the knowledge management field. Besides being useful in DSS by offering options with accuracy, it also reduces the complexity of the problem by reducing decision variables and condition variables in the multi-objective optimization model of DSS.

부분균형모형을 이용한 전복 수급전망모형 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Abalone Outlook Model Using by Partial Equilibrium Model Approach Based on DEEM System)

  • The purpose of this study is to construct an outlook model that is consistent with the "Fisheries Outlook" monthly published by the Fisheries Outlook Center of the Korea Maritime Institute(KMI). In particular, it was designed as a partial equilibrium model limited to abalone items, but a model was constructed with a dynamic ecological equation model(DEEM) system taking into account biological breeding and shipping time. The results of this study are significant in that they can be used as basic data for model development of various items in the future. In this study, due to the limitation of monthly data, the market equilibrium price was calculated by using the recursive model construction method to be calculated directly as an inverse demand. A model was built in the form of a structural equation model that can explain economic causality rather than a conventional time series analysis model. The research results and implications are as follows. As a result of the estimation of the amount of young seashells planting, it was estimated that the coefficient of the amount of young seashells planting from the previous year was estimated to be 0.82 so that there was no significant difference in the amount of young seashells planting this year and last year. It is also meant to be nurtured for a long time after aquaculture license and limited aquaculture area(edge style) and implantation. The economic factor, the coefficient of price from last year was estimated at 0.47. In the case of breeding quantity, it was estimated that the longer the breeding period, the larger the coefficient of breeding quantity in the previous period. It was analyzed that the impact of shipments on the breeding volume increased. In the case of shipments, the coefficient of production price was estimated unelastically. As the period of rearing increased, the estimation coefficient decreased. Such result indicates that the expected price, which is an economic factor variable and that had less influence on the intention to shipments. In addition, the elasticity of the breeding quantity was estimated more unelastically as the breeding period increased. This is also correlated with the relative coefficient size of the expected price. The abalone supply and demand forecast model developed in this study is significant in that it reduces the prediction error than the existing model using the ecological equation modeling system and the economic causal model. However, there are limitations in establishing a system of simultaneous equations that can be linked to production and consumption between industries and items. This is left as a future research project.

관리조방적 옥상녹화에 적합한 자생초화류와 식재토양에 관한 연구 (The Study on Native Plants and Planting Soil for Extensive Rooftop Greening)

  • Green spaces in cities were insufficient and decreased as artificial structures increase. Accordingly, greening rooftop space contributed to urban ecosystems as green space. Especially, since 2002 Seoul supported rooftop greening and introduced 'Ecology-area rates'. Thus rooftop greening had the potentiality of extension. This prepared the extensive rooftop greenings within planting-base for extensive management rooftop greening system to be easily popularized. The extensive rooftop greening conducted from 1997-2005 reported that soil depth was 8cm and soil mixtures were 5 types. And plant were Crysanthemum zawaskii var. latilobum, Aster hayatae, Crysanthemum zawaskii herb. ssp. coreanum, Sedum sarmentosum, Sedum rotundifolium, Sedum oryzifolium, Sedum takemensis, Sedum middendorffianum, Sedum telerium var. purpureum, Sedum spectabile, Carypteris incana, Dianthus superbus, Hosta minor. As a result, for nine years after the modular type rooftop greening established, survival plants were Sedum takemensis, Sedum sarmentosum, Sedum spectabile, Sedum middendorffianum, Carypteris incana, Crysanthemum zawaskii var. latilobum, Sedum telerium var. purpureum, Sedum rotundifolium, Dianthus superbus. Also effect of greening was possibled soil depth 8cm. And growth of plants from 1997 to 2005 were fine on two soil mixtures of 'perlite+peatmoss+vermicompost+moisturizer' and 'perlite+moisturizer+bark(mulching)'. Invasive plants are Ixeris dentata Nakai, Ixeris chinensis var. strigosa, Youngia sonchifolia, Eragrostis ferruginea, Aster pilosus Willd., Ixeris japonica Nakai, Valpia myuros, and Setaria viridis. In conclusion, selection of suitable native plants was possible extensive management rooftop greening with effect of continuous greening. The extensive rooftop greening were lightweight and simple preparation without management and can popularize readily.

Mat묘의 육모조건이 이앙기의 소요전단력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Various Growing Conditions of the Mat-type Seedlings on the Cutting forces for ower Rice Transplanter.)

  • In order to obtain a standard reference for designing an adequate power rice transplanter, the cutting forces depending upon variety of seedling, sowing density, seedling age and soil moisture content of mat-type seedling were measured by the rice transplanter installed with force measuring device of dynamic strain gage system in the laboratory. The result of this study are summarized as follows : 1. Cutting velocity and acceleration transplanting hoe obtained from jinematic analysis of planting mechanism was 1.32m/sec and 81.5m/$sec^2$ when planting crank-shaft rpm was 160. 2. Little difference between cutting forces on 30-days old seelings of japonica and Indica type was observed, as the cutting forces determined were 2.0kg per hill for Japonica type and 2.1kg per hill for Indica type. 3. Cutting forces determined on 40-days old seedlings were 2.5kg, 2.3kg, 3.1kg and 2.9kg per hill for Milyang No.15, Tongil, Akibare and Milyang No.23 compared to the other varieties. 4. The cutting force was not greatly affected by the sowing densities , only five percent of differences were observed epending upon the sowing densities. 5. Cutting forces were 2.7kg and 2.0kg per hill on 40-days old seedlings and 30-days old seedlings respectively. About 38 percent of more forces was required in cutting 40-days old seedling than in cutting 30-days old seedlings. 6. More cutting forces were required as soil moisture content of mat-type seedling was decreased. 7. Root length after cutting by the planting hoe and their relationships with soil moisture content on 30-days old seedlings, are as follows ; $y=4.147-11.384x+ 28.854x^2$ where , $y$=root length after cutting. (cm) , $x$=soil ture content of mat type seedlings.(%, d.b.) 8. Cutting forces were varied with the width of cuttings ; those on 40-days old mat type seedlings were 2.7kg and 2.2kg per hill when cutting with 14 mm and 10mm of width respectively, about 32 percent of more forces was required when cuting with 14mm of width compared to 10mm of width.

결명(決明)의 파종기(播種期)와 피복재료(被覆材料)가 생육(生育) 및 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Planting Time and Mulching Materials on Growth Characteristics and Yield in Cassia tora L.)

  • 본(本) 시험(試驗)은 1992년 충남(忠南) 농촌진흥원(農村振興院) 특작(特作) 시험포장(試驗圃場)에서 수행된 결명(決明) 적기파종(適基播種) 구명(究明)과 피복재료(被覆材料) 선발(選拔) 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 대전 중부지역 결명 파종적기는 5윌 18일 파종이 가장 수량이 많았고, 6윌 하순도 10a당 273kg까지 생산이 가능하여 맥후작으로 이용할시 유리한 작물로 사료되었다. 2. 피복 재료 선발은 무피복대비 전구에서 수량성에 유의성이 인정되지 않았으나, 관행(무피복)보다 수량이 $20{\sim}53%$ 증수되었고 흑색 PE는 잡초제거 노력을 경감하여 생력화 할 수 있었다. 3. 결명은 조기파종시 결명 입고병이 조금 발생할뿐 파종기, 피복재료에 관계없이 농약사용없이 무공해 농산물이 생산 가능하였다.

완전제어형 식물 생산 시스템에서 배양액, 광도 및 재식거리에 따른 Common Ice Plant의 생육 특성 (Growth Characteristics of Common Ice Plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L.) on Nutrient Solution, Light Intensity and Planting Distance in Closed-type Plant Production System)

  • 본 연구는 인공광 이용형 식물공장에서 common ice plant를 재배하였을 때 생육에 대한 적합한 배양액 조성, 배양액 산도, 급액 간격, 광도 및 재식거리를 알아보고자 수행되었다. 식물공장 유형은 완전제어형 식물공장형태로 인공광원은 삼파장 형광등을 사용하였으며, 광주기는 12시간 일장주기였다. 수경재배시스템은 3단으로 구성된 박막수경시스템이었다. 식물공장내 온도, 상대습도와 이산화탄소 농도는 ON/OFF 제어하였다. 배양액은 일본원예시험장액과 식물체 분석으로 개발 배양액을 가지고 비교 실험 하였다. 배양액의 산도와 급액 간격 실험은 pH 6.0과 7.0 그리고, 5분 간격과 10분 간격으로 순환 할 경우 생육 차이를 알아보았다. 광도는 90과 $180{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ 2처리 하였다. 재식거리는 열간 간격을 15cm로 고정한 후, 열내 간격 10cm, 15cm, 20cm와 25cm 4처리로 처리하였다. 적당한 배양액의 조성은 N 7.65, P 0.65, K 4.0, Ca 1.6과 Mg $1.0mM{\cdot}L^{-1}$이었다. 지상부 생체중과 건물중은 pH 6과 7 그리고 5분 간격과 10분 간격 처리간의 유의적인 차이는 없었다. 지상부 생체중과 건물중은 광도 $180{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$에서 높았다. 재식거리가 증가할수록, 단위면적당 생체중과 건물중은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 식물 생산 시스템에서 common ice plant 생육에 적합한 배양액 관리(조성, pH와 급액간격)와 재배관리(광도와 재식밀도)를 알아본 결과, 생육에 적합한 배양액 조성으로 pH 6.0-7.0로, 급액 10분 간격으로 공급해 주는 것이 좋으며, 광도 $180{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$와 재식밀도 $15{\times}15cm$로 재배하는 것이 좋을 것으로 판단된다.

조류 도입에 의한 가로수 체계 선호도 분석 (Street trees system preference by birds introduction analysis)

  • This research to streets at Daegu, and view adjective how people react when draw a bird into interior in city utilize and examine becoming direction of street trees system. Findings on survey, citizens appear by average 2.87 in management degree of street trees and average 2.76 in various of species of trees, discontent thing more or less by average 2.91 in satisfaction of the beauty, and demonstrate high shame from satisfaction for season stuff to comparative high 3.24, generally, citizens appear by there are parts to improve by do dissatisfaction about street trees system at Daegu. Also, street trees 2 lines plantings for a bird is average 3.05, shows affirmative feedback about that shrub utilization for a bird see high numerical value by average 3.4 and people draw a bird to space of city. Therefore, construct street trees friendly to the nature and be considered to need to re-establish set street trees environment in citizens preference to recover city ecosystem. As result that examine reaction which treat in street trees planting programs to draw birds into city through view adjective, Likert scales about 2 lines plantings of street trees and additional planting of shrub show affirmative feedback by average 3.4 both ordinary people and specialist group, if people want to draw birds into city by various of method, various research should be accomplished.
