  • In this paper, we propose a intelligent controller design method for the water level control of the power plant drum in the form of nonminimum phase system. The proposed method is based on T. Takagi and M. Sugeno's fuzzy model. And we illustrate the improved characteristics as the simulation results, comparing with the conventional the PID and LQ controller design method

  • For the purpose of the good tracking to variable load demands of the thermal power plant, a decentralized multilevel control(DMC) scheme is presented. It is applied to the drum type boiler-turbine system which is simplified from Boryung T/P #1,2 model[4]. A linearized model is decomposed into three subsystems by means of linear transformation. Then the DMC based on such subsystem is designed. Simulation using Matlab-Simulink shows that the proposed algorithm works very well to the large step change of power demand.

  • In this paper, we are going to design an iterative learning controller with the robust properties for initial error. For this purpose, the PID-type learning law will be considered and the design guide-line will be presented for the selection of the learning gain. Also, we are going to suggest a condition for the convergence of control input for a plant with input delay. Several simulation results are presented, which shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

  • In this paper, we present a robust controller design method that can not only deal with the constant time delay plant but also an uncertain time delay one. For a constant time delay plant. The proposed DTC can independently adjust the set response and the disturbance response without any stability constraint. And in the uncertain time delay case, one can process the control design step with uncertainty norm bound. To verify real effectiveness, theoretical analysis and simulation results are given.

  • A robust monitor AGC(Automatic Gauge Control) system for a hot strip mill plant of POSCO Is designed by minimizing the H.inf. norm of a so called mixed sensitivity function. In order to solve the mininizatlon problem, a polynomial approach proposed by Kwakernaak[5] is used. The controller performance is tested by a computer simulation under various circumstances.

  • A computer code to simulate the letdown system was developed to analyze the hydrodynamic transients. It was found that valve plug characteristics have a significant effect on the system stability, and that the plant specific valve control system setpoints should be determined based on the characteristics of procured valves by using a simulation code, before performing the plant startup test. The letdown system instability was evaluated for the feedback to the design of future plants.

  • This paper presents an analysis of the man-machine control system. A man-machine system depends on the performance of a human operator for proper operation. The analysis method is based upon the assumption that human operator will act in a near optimal controller. Optimal control theory and its associated state space representation is used as the basis for the analytic procedure. The computer simulation for a given plant shows that plant parameters have limited range by the human operator.

  • In this study, the construction process of a two-panel space station and its control problem are discussed. The appliability of direct model reference adaptive control technique with plant augmentation is investigated. Regulator control problem with high initial transient has been simulated Result show that high rate of convergence has been observed for all the simulation.

Analysis of the LMS Algorithm Family for Uncorelated Gaussian Data

  • In this paper, convergence properties of the LMS, LMF, and LVCMS algorithms are investigated under the assumption of the uncorrelated Gaussian input data. By treating these algorithms as special cases of more general algorithm family, unified results on these algorithms are obtained. First the upper bound on the step size parameter is obtained. Second, an expression for misadjustment is obtained. These theoretical results confirm earlier LMS works. Further, the results explain why the LMS and LVCMS algorithms are experiencing difficulties with plant noise having heavier tailed densities. Simulation results agree with theoretical expectation closely for various plant noise statistics.
