There is a rapid increase of child care centers due to the growth of women's social activities and a nuclear family. Child care center is an important part of community facilities for apartment housing complex. This study aims to collect the basic data required to develop the planning standards for the child care centers. This research limited the child care centers which is situated to permanent rental housing complex. Therefore, this research presents the basic design guidelines for the space composition planning of child care centers by grasping the special quality connected with the space composition of child care centers among the community facilities that is located in the permanent rental apartment housing complex.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of housing units assembled as complexes on residential satisfaction. Two analyses were performed to examine residential satisfaction of Multi-Family Housing Blocks (MFHB; complex) and Multi-Household Housing (MH; non-complex). The residents from both housing types were surveyed on nine categories of questions regarding residential satisfaction and one on overall satisfaction from their experiences. First, the t-test results between MFHB and MH suggest that MFHB has insufficient effect in terms of improvement over MH, as their satisfaction differences are either insignificant or uncontrollable. Second, the common factors affecting Overall Satisfaction of MFHB and MH are Maintenance and Residential Environments.

This study selects 45 housing complexes in Munheung, Ilgok and Sangmu districts of housing side development zones of Gwangju Metropolitan City and conducts the experiment the visual characteristics of these housing complexes through visual-perceptive information with their residents. As a result of experiment for the evaluation and structurization by visual-perceptive information of view image, there were affirmative evaluations in the whole experimental subjects except variables as 'innovative' and 'new' According to cluster types, while simple reiterative types showed affirmative responses except such items as 'dull', 'common' and 'uniform'. Variational types were affirmative in the whole items. It extracted four evaluation factors including variety, stability, harmony and symbolism. From the above research, it is understood that since the current housing site development has been made after developing housing site by public agencies and sold them to construction companies, housing complexes of different types were built within the same district. Therefore, it cannot be connected to the view of the whole district even if it considered view in planning housing complex. then when future housing side development or housing complex are planned, it is required that view guideline in the dimension of the district should be prepared and housing site development district or housing complex must be able to contribute to urban view by introducing master architect system.

Purpose: Long-life housing causes unavoidable cost increase while providing higher durability, flexibility, and repair easiness compare to those of normal apartment. The effectiveness should be evaluated considering the level of passing mandatory Long-life housing Certification System when supplying specific size of apartment complex. Thus, it is essential to identify the estimated costs and the obtainable grade by applying the optional element technologies selectively during the design phase. This study aimed to suggest the technology influence matrix(TIM) to support decision-making of element technologies in planning stage of long-life housing. Method: The technology influence matrix was established based on the property information about applicable element technologies for long-life housing such as construction methods, interface types, cost data, and certification-related characteristics. The usefulness of TIM was verified through case study, in which TIM was applied to the exclusive housing unit and the influences from four areas of quantity, cost, certification, and schedule were identified and calculated. Result: TIMs covering four areas representing the essential planning factors were developed, and are expected to contribute to sound decision-making in planning long-life housing.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the outdoor space of the recent built apartment complex in Ulsan and to provide the basic information for planning and apartment outdoor space. Multiple methods were utilized such as questionnaire, observation, behavior-mapping, and photography. The sample consisted of 382 residents living in four apartment complex in Ulsan. data were analyzed by frequency and percentage using SPSS PC+. The observation was performed in seven outdoor space, i.e., green area, road area, exercise area, play area, parking area, and approach area. According to the findings of this study, residents did not actively involve in outdoor activities and seldom use the outdoor space. Various changes and erosions were observed as a trace, especially near fence and grass area because of unplanned location of entrances. Finally this study suggested several planning guidelines for outdoor space in apartment complex.

Urbanization has caused population influx into cities, creating housing problems, and housing developmental plans have often resulted in high-rise and high-density housing complexes. Such development have seldom incorporated the environmental factors associated with the complexes and the surroundings, just being busy in increasing the volume of the housing supplies, and as a result, various environmental problems, such as disruption of the air flow, reduction of sunlight exposure amount, and temperature rise, have occurred, deteriorating the living environments. Accordingly, the objectives of this paper are to find out the causes of the problems in the contemporary complex development plans from the urban environmental viewpoint through the investigative analysis of microclimate environment in those complexes, and, further, to present a residential complex planning technique and developmental direction so as to remedy the problems described above. Then a 3-D microclimate model 'Envi-Met' was employed to analyze and predict on the related issues, per the selected planning factors.

The purpose of this study is just for parking shall identify the status of the lack of rental apartments to relieve parking shortages. Next performed, and subsequent utilization of space just outside the parking space expansion plan is to present an alternative. Analysis of the study only 30 of the direction of the plan and set standards according to the nature of each complex. Planned urban planning aspects and architectural aspects of a parking space that can expand and classify the types of features will be discussed. Suggestions on how to take advantage of the parking space that can expand only in state owned lands in the urban planning aspects. The Architectural Planning of the side lot line change in the space and change the use of the Common Service Facilities or just to change the internal road system, by changing the way of parking, secure parking space. This way of working to improve the environment of the complex, at least. Actually just the space of improvement to be made with the opinion of the residents and the surrounding areas of the business association, must be preceded by a feasibility study.

This study focused on the analysis of residential satisfaction and environment awareness depending on the environment-friendly level on the outdoor space of the housing complexes. The purpose of this study is to present basic materials of the environment-friendly outdoor space planning of housing complexes. The major findings of the study are as follows. First, the results of the comparative analysis of the satisfaction of the outdoor space of apartment complexes show that the complexes with the most application of environment-friendly elements had higher residential satisfaction. But there was no meaningful statistical difference between the complexes with the higher level of application of the environment-friendly elements and the complexes with medium level of application. Secondly, according to a comparative analysis, the overall residential satisfaction of the apartment complexes was the same as the residential satisfaction of the outdoor space. Thirdly, the results of the correlative analysis of residential satisfaction and environmental awareness showed that the satisfaction of the apartment complexes decreases as the awareness of the environment-friendly apartment complex increases. The results of this study can be used as basic materials for environment-friendly outdoor space planning of apartment complexes.

Community is on the group of people who live in same area and share same life style. The purpose of this study is to suggest Improvement of the Community Facilities for the Community activation and Management in Public Rental Housing. It focuses on the planning methods through observation and survey with residents of Public Rental Housing. The result of the study are summarized as follows: Frist, the community demand will increase significantly in the near future for development of Public Rental Housing. Thus, it should be accomplished by Preparing Practical Planning direction, Second, this study suggest that improvement direction for system, planning and application of the Community Facilities for the Community activation and Management in Public Rental Housing.
