The purpose of this study was to analyze the affection of plan configuration on human emotion using Virtual Reality. A total of four different plan configuration was selected according to the prior study and built using Virtual Reality. The EEG was measured and then calculated using FFT to measure human emotion in different plan configurations. The measurements were shown to lead there was a significant statistical difference in four types of brainwaves between the plan types(p<0.05). This indicates that there is a possibility of plan configuration may exacerbate psychological disorder among single-person household and suggests that it is possible to counteract those stress among single-person household by changing the plan configuration in the earlier designing stage.

Since offline contact becomes a strong differentiator as online market expands, the shopping mall calls for more complex and diverse tenant combinations and deployment plan strategies. There is, however, few practical research and causal verification of Tenant Mix, i.e., the combination and placement of tenant and users' behavior, has been conducted which is a key factor in spatial configuration. In practice, Tenant Mix is limited in prediction of consumption behavior of customers by the MD planners's experience and depends only on qualitative arbitrary plan. The purpose of this study is to find out the interrelationship between the spatial configuration and the users' behavior of Tenant Mix in shopping mall, and to present an objective basis in MD planning. According to the analysis, it was possible to know that there are differences in the relationship between the spatial configuration and the users' behavior dependent on the Tenant Mix, which is the space planning of shopping mall. It was also possible to find out the characteristics and differences in the users' behavior which is dependent on the spatial configuration for each tenant. Through this study, it was possible to know the impact of space organization on the users' behavior and the interrelationship between the use's behavior and spatial configuration by tenant together with their characteristics. We prove that the current MD planning has limitation due to lack of objective research on the combination and arrangement of space in the commercial space and only done empirically. This analysis can show the practical plan of combination and placement of tenant which is emphasized in complex and larger shopping malls, and contribute to the revitalization of shopping mall by better use of tenant.

This paper deals with the spatial configuration of the unit floor plan based on the apartment building type. It is generally agreed that various apartment building types were organized by diverse apartment unit floor plan. The reason behind this diversity, apartment unit plan are affected by the environmental condition and the diverse spatial composition of the unit floor plan. Apartment building types were classified by the similarity of the justified-graph type. This types classified into two category; One core type which were classified by the shape of the core, and multiple core type which were compounded by more than two core. These categories divided into 5 types, and 2 types. Each types were compared in view of the mean depth, relative asymmetry, integration value. Consequently, these types could be classified in the number of the unit floor plan. It is profitable to 3 unit types which was analyzed in view of an indicator of the spatial configuration. Therefore, 3 unit types is favorable to the composition of the apartment building types.

This study aims at evaluating the spatial configuration of general hospitals in terms of Visitors' movement pattern. In doing so, the study deals with three hospitals which are recently built and are generally considered to show recent trends in their spatial configuration. First, the Space Syntax method is used in order to systematically describe and analyse the spatial configurations, and thus to find out the spatial characteristics of each hospital in terms of movement pattern. Second, the spatial characteristics reflected on the 1st floor plan are compared with the planning concepts considered at early stage of the design. It can be said that the concept of hospital street and the spatial hierarchy should be carefully taken into account and tested the spatial configuration by the completed floor plan in order to satisfy the planning concepts.

The activities of managing and controlling the configuration of a system component over its life cycle are critical tasks in developing a high safety system as well as general system development. These configuration management activities should be defined through the management plan at the beginning of the life cycle, and should be performed continuously and systematically until the end of the project after the system or product development is completed. In this study, the configuration management process applied in the development of high safety railway signaling system was introduced and an efficient application proposals of it was proposed. In particular, configuration management through the establishment of a configuration management system based on computer tools is one of the important activities of maintaining the configuration integrity of the system or product.

The objective of this research is to study the method to produce biotope map by using GIS. Surveying and analyzing the situation of biotope map in the country, it was found that biotope map should be produced to be utilized in establishing urban plan and environment preservation plan. Considering the history of materials, preparation method and type of use, the types of original materials can be classified into 3 types, namely, data based on configuration map, the existing thematic map and materials of surveying natural ecology. Biotope map is composed of configuration thematic map that shows the shape and position of surface, urban thematic map that is the standard of unit biotope shape and urban ecology map that shows the urban ecologic situation. Extracted and processed from the original material, each thematic map is produced as biotope map that shows the type of biotope. It is expected that biotope map can be utilized in the area of urban plan including establishment of basic urban plan and urban management plan as well as environment planning area including evaluation of environment influence, establishment of environment preservation plan, consolidated environment management for natural environment and life environment.

Configuration is a set of building block processes, a series of selection and combining parts or components which composes a whole thing. A whole thing could be such a configurable object as manufacturing product, network system, financial portfolio, system development plan, project team, etc. Configuration problem could happen during any phase of product life cycle: design, production, sales, installation, and maintenance. Configuration has long been one of cost and time consuming work, because only high salaried technical experts on product and components can do configuration. Rework for error adjustments of configurations at later process causes far much cost and time, so accurate configuration is required. Under the on-line electronic commerce environment, configuration problem solving becomes more important, because component-based sales should be done automatically on the merchant web site. Automated product search, order placement, order fulfillment and payment make that manual configuration is no longer feasible. Automated configuration means that all the constraints among components should be checked and confirmed by configuration engine automatically. In addition, technical constraints and customer preferences like price range and a specific function required should be considered. This paper gives an brief overview of configuration problems: characteristics, representation paradigms, and solving algorithms and introduce CRSP(Constraint and Rule Satisfaction Problem) method. CRSP method adopts both constraint and rule for configuration domain knowledge representation. A survey and analysis on web sites adopting configuration functions are provided. Future directions of configuration for EC is discussed in the three aspects: methodology itself, companies adopting configuration function, and electronic commerce industry.

This study had a aim to present a detailed investigation of the difference between the preoccupied and occupied space in the apartment house. In this connection, this study was to analyse the space configuration of the residential space with and without furniture for 3LDK plan in the apartment housing by the comparative method. The space configuration analysis which represents results a numeral and graphical ways is based on the relation between the space and the social changes. The results of this study were as follows; There were a various width of change of the integration value which represented the space configure between the residential space with and without furniture according to the sample plans. It means that the residential space redefine by residence, though the architect design the perfect plan to be considered user.

In the spatial configuration of a unit plan, two rules exist: one that governs the arrangement of spaces, and one that controls the design process of generating a unit plan. This study defines space grammar as an integration of the two rules that give birth to a given spatial configuration and as the process of the generation of unit plans. To understand the distinctive features of Indonesian row houses, this study analyzes the unit plans of row houses in new towns of the metropolitan cities of Indonesia, derives a common space grammar from the unit plans, and interprets the sociocultural background that has produced this space grammar. This study employs Seo's (2007a; 2007b) graph-theoretic methodology to analyze the spatial configurations of unit plans along with a topographical approach to systematically illustrate the design process. The guest space was found as the most unique space of Indonesian houses, which cannot be found in other Southeast Asian houses. Kitchen was clearly seperated from the dining and living spaces, following traditional custom. Dining space was found to serve as a circulation center, connecting the entrance, the lving area and the kitchen. This study locates the basic orders of primary space and the design principles that dictate the unique spatial configurations of Indonesian row houses. This study reveals the basic space grammar that underpins the forms of Indonesian row houses, explaining the sociocultural and geo-climatic factors affecting this space grammar and proposing unique characteristics of Indonesian contemporary houses.
