A control algorithm for a 100 kW wind turbine is designed in this study. The wind turbine is operating as a variable speed variable pitch (VSVP) status. Also, this wind turbine is a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) Type. For the medium capacity wind turbine considered in this study, it was found that the optimum tip speed ratios to achieve the maximum power coefficients varied with wind speeds. Therefore a commercial blade element momentum theory and multi-body dynamics based program was implemented to consider the variation of aerodynamic coefficients with respect to Reynolds numbers and to find out the power and thrust coefficients with respect tip speed ratio and blade pitch angles. In the end a basic power controller was designed for below rated, transition and above rated regions, and a load reduction algorithm was designed to reduce tower vibration by the nacelle motion. As a result, damage equivalent Load (DEL) of tower fore-aft has been reduced by 32%. From dynamic simulations in the commercial program, the controller was found to work properly as designed. Experimental validation of the control algorithm will be done in the future.

The purpose of this study was to examine spiral way movement of a trunk exerts on the movement ability. The details established to achieve for this article. This examination confirmed the weight, weight/height2 index, ratio of lumbar to pelvic, musculoskeletal quantity, push up for 2 minute, pitch a ball and voluntary isometric contraction with flexion and extension of knee joint of the subjects with spiral direct movement. Healthy eighteen subjects who understand fully the significance of procedure, consented to a plan, without neuromuscular disease were participated in two groups of experiment. The group were a spiral movement(9), rectilinear movement(9). Trunk movement tested 2 sessions of a spiral movement and rectilinear movement with a push up for 2 minute, 5days per a week, for the 4 weeks. This experiment tested 3 times with a sufficient rest for fatigue limitation. An analysis of the results used a paired samples t-test for difference from before and after experiment. The following results were obtained; At an internal change of the body, the musculoskeletal quantity was increased significantly to spiral movement group, but the weight was increased significantly, the musculoskeletal quantity was not significant to rectilinear movement. The movement ability evaluation for a external change was increased significantly in a push up for 2 minute, pitch a ball, isometric contraction with extension of knee joint of a spiral movement group, but a push up for 2 minute was increased significantly in a push up for 2 minute on the abdominal muscle training of a rectilinear movement group. As compared with a rectilinear movement, a spiral movement was more effect by cooperation with nerve and musculoskeletal system and an increase in movement ability was caused by learning acknowledgment, muscular reeducation. These results lead us to the conclusion that a spiral movement of trunk was more effect than a rectilinear movement, the coordination of nerve and musculoskeletal system was of importance of Multi-direction movement. Therefore, A further studies concerning the therapeutic exercise intervention and active-dynamic analysis could enhance the development of the most effect on the trunk.

This study was carried out with two goals. One was the development of a model of a wind turbine blade airfoil and the other was the application of this folding blade. In general, in large-sized (MW) wind turbines, damage is prevented because of the use of a pitch control system. On the other hand, pitch control is not performed in small wind turbines since equipment costs and maintenance costs are high, and therefore, the blade will cause serious damage. The wind turbine proposed in this study does not require maintenance, and the blades do not break during high winds because they are folded in accordance with changes in the wind speed. But generators are not cut-out, while maintaining a constant angle will continue to produce. The focus of this study, the wind turbine is continued by folding blade system in strong winds and gusts without stopping production.
A one-dimensional thermal-hydraulic analysis computer program is developed for thermal sizing of a copper bonded steam generator. It is assumed that the conduction heat transfer of copper region between the hot side and the cold side tube is one-dimensional and its thermal resistance is derived as a function of a tube pitch. The flow regions of the water/steam side are divided into four regions: subcooled, saturated, film boiling, and super-heated. The number of tube selected ranges from 250 to 3500 and the pitch to tube diameter (P/D) ratios are 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 for the parametric study calculation. The calculation results showed that when the number of tube was 2500, the length of the heating tube was about 12 m and the outside diameter of the steam generator was about 3 m. If the P/D ratio increases, the thermal resistance of copper component also increases, however the length of the heating tube is not so much increased.

Background and Objectives : The managements of unilateral vocal cord palsy include type Ⅰ thyroplasty and arytenoid adduction. One type operation has been shown no satisfactory effect. We evaluated preoperative and postoperative speech of unilateral vocal cord palsy patients who received combined operation of type Ⅰ thyroplasty and arytenoid adduction to help for the management plan of unilateral vocal cord palsy patients. Materials and Methods : We reviewed the postoperative results and complication of 17 surgically treated patients of unilateral vocal cord palsy at Severance hospital from Nov. 1996 to Dec. 1997 retrospectively. They were received combined operation of type Ⅰ thyroplasty and arytenoid adduction. Their pre and post-operative speech were analyzed with MDVP(Multi-Dimension-Voice analysis Program) of CSL(Computerized Speech Lab). Results : After the operation, MPT(Maximal Phonation Time) was increased and MFR(Mean Flow Rate) was decreased in all patients. NHR(Noise to Harmonic Ratio) and VTI(Voice Turbulence Index) were decreased : liner, RAP(Relative Average Perturbation Quotient), PPQ(Pitch Period Perturbation Quotient), sPPQ(smoothed Pitch Period Perturbation Quotient), vFo(fundamental frequency Variation) were decreased : Shimmer, APQ(Amplitude Perturbation Quotient), sAPQ(Smoothed Amplitude Perturbation Qoutient), vAm(Peak Amplitude Variation) were decreased in all the patients. Conclusions : In unilateral vocal cord pals), combined operation of type Ⅰ thyroplasty and arytenoid adduction could obtain satisfactory postoperative voice. MDVP has many parameters and good method for evaluation of voice surgery.
Naphtha cracking bottom oil was reformed with heat treatment and then spun at $310^{\circ}C$. These pitch-based carbon fibers were carbonized at $1000^{\circ}C$ after oxidation at $280^{\circ}C$, for 90 min. These fibers were chemically activated with molar ratio of KOH/CF (1 : 1) at different temperatures ($250{\sim}900^{\circ}C$) for 1 hr. The process of activation was characterized with DTA, TGA, BET surface area and pore size distribution. The activation of fibers by KOH was performed by several process. One is the reduction process that carbon fiber was reacted with $K_2O$ produced from dehydration process above $400^{\circ}C$. The other is the process that $K_2CO_3$ was directly reacted with carbon fiber. At $800^{\circ}C$, the activation was performed by catalyzed mechanism that $K_2O$ was obtained from the reaction of metal potassium with $CO_2$, then was changed to $K_2CO_3$. At $870^{\circ}C$, the activation was also observed that activation mechanism was promoted by metal catalyst with $CO_2$ from decomposition of $K_2CO_3$. The specific surface area of prepared activated carbon fibers was dependent on the activation mechanism. The specific surface area was in the range of $1519{\sim}2000\;cm^3/g$ and was the largest prepared at $870^{\circ}C$. The pores developed were mostly micropores which was very narrow and uniform. The total pore volume was $0.58{\sim}0.77\;cm^3/g$.

In this study, an innovative and smart glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) hybrid bar was developed for stronger durability of concrete structures. As comparing with the conventional GFRP bar, the smart GFRP Hybrid bar can promise to enhance the modulus of elasticity so that it makes the cracking reduced than the case when the conventional GFRP bar is used. Besides, the GFRP Hybrid bar can effectively resist the corrosion of conventional steel bar by the GFRP outer surface on the steel bar. In order to verify the bond performance of the GFRP hybrid bar for structural reinforcement, uniaxial pull-out test was conducted. The variables were the bar diameter and the number of strands and pitch of the fiber ribs. Tensile tests showed a excellent increase in the modulus of elasticity, 152.1 GPa, as compared to that of the pure GFRP bar (50 GPa). The stress-strain curve was bi-linear, so that the ductile performance could be obtained. For the bond test, the entire GFRP hybrid bar test specimens failed in concrete splitting due to higher shear strength resulting in concrete crushing as a function of bar deformation. Investigation revealed that an increase in the number of strands of fiber ribs enhanced the bond strength, and the pitch guaranteed the bond strength of 19.1 mm diameter hybrid bar with 15.9 mm diameter of core section of deformed steel the ACI 440 1R-15 equation is regarded as more suitable for predicting the bond strength of GFRP hybrid bars, whereas the CSA S806-12 prediction is considered too conservative and is largely influenced by the bar diameter. For further study, various geometrical and material properties such as concrete cover, cross-sectional ratio, and surface treatment should be considered.

BSCT 320${\times}$240 IRFPA detector module is implemented, which is a key component in uncooled thermal imaging systems. The detector module consists of two parts, infrared sensitive pixel array and read-out integrated circuit(ROIC). The BSCT 320${\times}$240 pixels are made by laser scribe process and 10-${\mu}m$ micro-bump to satisfy 50-${\mu}m$ pitch and 95-% fill-factor. The ROIC has been designed to electrically address the pixels sequentailly and to improve signal-to-noise ratio with single transistor amplifier, HPF, tunable LPF and clamp circuit. The fabricated hybrid chip of detector and ROIC has been mounted on the TEC built-in ceramic package for more stable operation and tested for lots of electrical and optical properties. The IRFA sample has shown successful properties and met with good results of fill-factor, detectivity and responsivity.

Thrust vector control system is control device which is mounted exit of the nozzle to generate pitch, yaw and roll directional force by deflecting flow direction of the supersonic jet from the nozzle. By obtaining control force, jetvane which is exposed in jet flow is working thermal and aerodynamic load. Axial thrust loss and side thrust is affected by shock patterns and interactions between jetvanes according to jetvane geometry and turning angle. In this study, we designed 6 types of jetvane to evaluate pitch, yaw and roll characteristics of ietvane in supersonic flow, and perform the cold flow test in range of turning angles of jetvanes between $0^{\cire}$ and $25^{\cire}$ by $5^{\cire}$ respectively. Also, calculation is going side by side to analyse flow interaction. Results show that there is no interactions between jetvanes upto turning angle 20$^{\circ}$, chord and lead length ratio is very important parameter to aerodynamic performance and maximum thrust loss is appeard to 17% of axial thrust in roll directional control.
Assuming that the performance of holographic storage media is ideal, we estimate the area storage density of disk-type holographic memories, when the method of either angle multiplexing, or rotational multiplexing, or both are used. The area storage density is strongly dependent on the f numbers (ratio of focal length to diameter) of both the Fourier transform lens in the signal arm, denoted by $F/#_2$, and the angle range over which the reference beam is incident (or, the equivalent f number corresponding to the angle range denoted by $F/#_1$). The area storage density is largely independent of the pixel pitch of the spatial light modulator when the Fourier plane holograms are recorded, while it is sensitive to the pixel pitch when the image plane holograms are recorded. In general, to obtain high area storage density, the Fourier or at least near Fourier plane holograms rather than the image plane holograms should be recorded. In addition, when the thickness of the recording materials are less than approximately $500\mu\extrm{m}$, rotational multiplexing gives higher area storage densities than angle multiplexing does. To increase the storage density further, however, it is desirable to use both of the two multiplexing methods in combination.nation.
