It is widely accepted that the coverage with high user densities in mobile multimedia environments can only be achieved with small cell such as micro- and pico-cell. If handover events occur during the transmission of multimedia, the efficient resource reservation and handover methods are necessary in order to maintain the same QoS of transmitted multimedia traffic because the QoS may be defected by some delay and information loss. In this paper, we propose a resource allocation method in the next generation mobile communication systems, in which the resource allocation process has a tight relation with call admission, call load, and packet scheduling. The simulation results show that our proposed method provides a excellent performance.

Handover is very important to support the mobility of user because wireless ATM networks have smaller cell size such as micro/pico cell for broadband mobile multimedia service In this paper, we propose dynamic path reservation handover scheme for fast inter-MSC (Mobile Switching Center) handovers To reduce the handover delay for connection re-routing, the proposed scheme reserves virtual channels from nearest common node to neighbor MSC in advance Especially, our handover scheme predicts the number of inter-MSC handover calls at each period by the prediction algorithm and reserve virtual channels The simulation and analysis results show that our scheme reduce handover complexity and has higher reservation channel utilization, compared with DVCT scheme.

Small cells such as pico or femto cells are promising as a solution to cope with higher traffic explosion and the large number of users. However, the users within small cells are likely to suffer severe inter-cell interference (ICI) from neighboring base stations (BSs). To tackle this, several papers suggest BS transmit power on/off control algorithms which increase edge user throughput. However, these algorithms require centralized coordinator and have high computational complexity. This paper makes a contribution towards presenting fully distributed and low complex joint BS on/off control and user scheduling algorithm (FDA) by selecting on/off pattern of BSs. Throughput the extensive simulations, we verify the performance of our algorithm as follows: (i) Our FDA provides better throughput performance of cell edge users by 170% than the algorithm without the ICI management. (ii) Our FDA catches up with the performance of optimal algorithm by 88-96% in geometric average throughput and sufficiently small gap in edge user throughput.

It is widely accepted that the coverage with high user densities in mobile multimedia environments can only be achieved with small cell such as micro- and pico-cell. The smaller cell size causes frequent handovers between cells and a decrease in the permissible handover processing delay. This may result in the handover failure, in addition to the loss of some packets during the handover. In these cases, re-transmission is needed in order to compensate errors, which triggers a rapid degradation of throughput. In this paper, we propose a new handover scheme in the next generation mobile communication systems, in which the handover setup process is done in advance before a handover request by predicting the handover cell based on mobile terminal's current position and moving direction. Simulation is focused on the handover failure rate and packet loss rate. The simulation results show that our proposed method provides a better performance than the conventional method.

Smaller cell size in the micro-cell or pico-cell structure brings about more frequent hand-overs between cells, and higher speed movement of the mobile terminal makes short the permissible time interval for executing these hand-over procedures. In this situation the hand-over failure may occur or some packets may be lost during the hand-over. Moreover a rapid degradation of throughput is triggered by packet re-transmission for compensating such errors. The QoS (Quality of Services) of mobile multimedia applications with higher bits rate requirements and higher speed mobility are severely affected by even shot service interruption. This paper proposes a new hand-over scheme to provide seamless services in the next generation mobile communication systems. Simulation is done to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme based on its hand-over failure rate and packet loss rate.
PURPOSE. This study was performed to evaluate the osteogenic potential of 3mol% yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals (3Y-TZP) and niobium oxide containing Y-TZPs with specific ratios, new (Y,Nb)-TZPs, namely YN4533 and YN4533/Al20 discs. MATERIALS AND METHODS. 3Y-TZP, YN4533 and YN4533/Al20 discs (15 mm diameter and 1 mm thickness) were prepared and their average surface roughness ($R_a$) and surface topography were analyzed using 3-D confocal laser microscope (CLSM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Mouse pre-osteoblast MC3T3-E1 cells were seeded onto all zirconia discs and evaluated with regard to cell attachment and morphology by (CLSM), cell proliferation by PicoGreen assay, and cell differentiation by Reverse-Transcription PCR and Quantitative Real-Time PCR, and alkaline phosphatase (Alp) staining. RESULTS. The cellular morphology of MC3T3-E1 pre-osteoblasts was more stretched on a smooth surface than on a rough surface, regardless of the material. Cellular proliferation was higher on smooth surfaces, but there were no significant differences between 3Y-TZP, YN4533, and YN4533/Al20. Osteoblast differentiation patterns on YN4533 and YN4533/Al20 were similar to or slightly higher than seen in 3Y-TZP. Although there were no significant differences in bone marker gene expression (alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin), Alp staining indicated better osteoblast differentiation on YN4533 and YN4533/Al20 compared to 3Y-TZP. CONCLUSION. Based on these results, niobium oxide containing Y-TZPs have comparable osteogenic potential to 3Y-TZP and are expected to be suitable alternative ceramics dental implant materials to titanium for aesthetically important areas.

In this paper, We have proposed an Heterodyne technique to generate millimeter-wave signal. Microwave signals in cellular broadband mobile communication networks and distributed networks can favorably be generated and distributed by optical techniques. In principle, these techniques have already been investigated for optical control of phase-array antennas, characterization of photo-detector and phase locking of millimeter-wave oscillators and now being applied to wireless communications. The generation and transmission of millimeter-wave radio signals by optical means is of interest for future pico-cell broadband mobile communication system, especially for systems operating at frequencies of 300GHz.

이를 해결하기 위해서 MRSVP(Mobile Resource reservation protocol)와 같은 무선 자원예약 프로토콜이 제안되어지고 있다(4).
