폐가스 처리용 바이오필터에 미생물 군집 분석 기법의 적용 (Application of Methodology for Microbial Community Analysis to Gas-Phase Biofilters)

  • 폐가스 처리용 바이오필터의 핵심 요소 기술은 생촉매(미생물), 담체, 설계 운전 기술 및 진단 관리 기술이다. 특히, 바이오필터의 성능은 부하 조건과 바이오필터 내 미생물 군집 구조에 의해 영향을 받는다. 지금까지 바이오필터의 미생물 연구는 대부분 배양법을 기초로 하여 수행되어 왔으나, 최근에 보다 신속하고 정확하게 미생물 군집을 분석할 수 있는 방법들이 제시되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 생리적, 생화학적 및 분자생물학적 미생물 군집 분석 방법과 이를 활용한 바이오필터의 미생물 군집 특성을 조사한 연구사례를 소개하고, 미생물 군집 분석법의 바이오필터에 적용 가능성에 대해 고찰하였다. Community-level physiological profile 방법은 시료 중에 포함된 종속영양미생물의 탄소기질 이용능력을 기반으로 군집 특성을 조사하는 것이며, Phospholipid fatty acid analysis는 미생물 세포막 지방산을 분석하여 군집 특성을 조사하는 방법이다. 환경시료로부터 직접 추출한 DNA를 활용하는 분자생물학적 분석법에는 "partial community DNA analysis"와 "whole community DNA analysis"가 있다. 전자의 방법은 PCR 과정에 의해 증폭시킨 염기서열을 분석하는 것으로 ribosomal operon 유전자가 가장 많이 활용되었다. 이 방법은 다시 PCR fragment cloning 및 genetic fingerprinting으로 구분되며, genetic fingerprinting 방법으로는 denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis, terminal-restriction fragment length polymorphism, ribosomal intergenic spacer analysis 및 random amplified polymorphic DNA 방법으로 세분화된다. 추출된 전체 군집의 DNA를 분석하는 방법에는 total genomic cross-DNA hybridization, 총 추출 DNA의 열 변성/재결합 방법 및 밀도구배를 이용하여 추출한 DNA를 분획화하는 방법 등이 있다.

열처리에 의한 황금(Scutellaria baicalensis) 추출물의 생리활성 변화 (Changes in Physiological Activities of Scutellariae baicalensis by Heating)

  • 황금에 대한 수 추출물의 열 변환에 의한 생리활성 변화를 보기 위하여 HPLC를 통한 peak분석과 기능성 평가를 하였다. 열처리 전의 시료 (CW)와 열처리 후의 시료 (CHW)간의 peak분석에서 CW와 CHW의 비교 시 A와 B가 없어지고 열처리 후에 C라는 다른 물질의 peak가 형성됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 전체적인 기능성 평가에서 항산화성에서는 CW와 CHW 별 차이가 없었고, 항고혈압 활성은 CW가 높았다. 항암성에 있어서 폐암에서는 CW가 높았고, 위암, 간암, 후두암 등에는 CHW가 높게 나왔다. 그리고, 멜라닌 생성세포의 멜라닌 생성 억제는 CHW에서 약 80%로 매우 높게 나타났다. 결론적으로 열처리를 통한 시료 내 구성성분의 변환이 기능성 차이를 보여주며, 이는 새로운 열 변환 물질의 생성 때문으로 판단된다. 이들 변화된 물질은 황금의 주성분인 Baicalin 외의 물질이 열 변환 된 것으로, 생성된 물질에 대한 구조분석이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

Lack of Any Association of GST Genetic Polymorphisms with Susceptibility to Ovarian Cancer - a Meta-analysis

  • Objective: Epidemiology studies have reported conflicting results between glutathione S-transferase Mu-1 (GSTM1), glutathione S-transferase theta-1 (GSTT1) and glutathione S-transferase pi-1 (GSTP1) and ovarian cancer (OC) susceptibility. In this study, an updated meta-analysis was applied to determine whether the deletion of GSTM1, GSTT1 and GSTP1 has an influence on OC susceptibility. Methods: A published literature search was performed through PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Science Citation Index Expanded database for articles published in English. Pooled odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) were calculated using random or fixed effects models. Heterogeneity between studies was assessed using the Cochrane Q test and $I^2$ statistics. Sub-group analysis was conducted to explore the sources of heterogeneity. Sensitivity analysis was employed to evaluate the respective influence of each study on the overall estimate. Results: In total, 10 published studies were included in the final analysis. The combined analysis revealed that there was no significant association between GSTM1 null genotype and OC risk (OR=1.01, 95%CI: 0.91-1.12). Additionally, there was no significant association between GSTT1 genetic polymorphisms and OC risk (OR=0.98, 95% CI: 0.85-1.13). Similalry, no significant associations were found concerning the GSTP1 rs1695 locus and OC risk. Meanwhile, subgroup analysis did not show a significant increase in eligible studies with low heterogeneity. However, sensitivity analysis, publication bias and cumulative analysis demonstrated the reliability and stability of the current meta-analysis. Conclusions: These findings suggest that GSTs genetic polymorphisms may not contribute to OC susceptibility. Large epidemiological studies with the combination of GSTM1 null, GSTT1 null and GSTP1 Ile105Val polymorphisms and more specific histological subtypes of OC are needed to prove our findings.

  • 1. Objectives This paper was written in order ro understand the conception on YangQi and YinQi in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Specially that were focused on the discourse of the symptoms and diseases. 2. Methods We analysis YangQi and YinQi in Gabobon(甲午本) and Sinchukbon(辛丑本) of ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Suse Bowon${\lrcorner}$ 3. Results and Conclusions The symptomatic-pharmacology of Soeunin and Soyangin was base on the master of reserving life(保命之主). YangQi is ascending Qi and YinQi is descending Qi. that conception is Qi of the large and small organ. And that is appeared hot or cold Qi in body. The influential competition of YinYang is focused on primordial Qi(正氣) of small organ in Gabobon. And focused on small organ's the primordial Qi of the exterior disease and large that of the interior disease in Sinchukbon. YangQi is divided to physiological that and patholgical that at the discourse on the Soyangin’s interior disease in the Sinchukbon. Because YinQi is in proportion to physiological YangQi and inverse proportion to pathological YangQi, physiological that is similar to weak and strong of YinQi that is the master of reserving life. So ascending Yang of Soyangin is more correct as ascending physiological that. YinQi is not divided to physiologica that and patholgical that at the discourse on the Soeumin's interior disease in the Sinchukbon like Soyangin's that. But there is more reasonable that divid physiological YinQi and patholgical that. So descending Yin of Soeumin is more correct as descending physiological that.

  • We have examined and analyzed the status of policy, R&D investments, patents and market share of physiological signal measurement technologies for major countries including Korea, the United States, European Union and Japan. Korea is generally inferior to the others in terms of priority of industrial policy, R&D investment, number of patents, technological level and world market share. However, Korea could recover competitiveness, with intensive government supports for this technology.

  • This paper reviewed the relationship between job stress and human error, and the moderating effect of age and maintenance type on the relationship between job stress and human error in maintenance personnel. Based on the responses from 450 maintenance personnels, the results of multiple regression analysis showed that physiological and psychological stress responses have positively related with human error. In moderating effect test, age appeared to impact on the relationship between physiological/behavioral stress and human error.

  • It has been shown that some of physiological systems have nonlinear dynamics. The evidences of these nonlinear behaviors make us analyze physiological systems in the new viewpoint. And, nonlinear dynamics can be represented by chaotic behaviors, which is studied by several methods - correlation dimension, return map, power spectrum analysis, etc. This study is on the analysis of nonlinear characteristics of ECG. Data have been acquired from the 20 children (10 - 13 years old). and 30 students (20 -24 years old). We have calculated parameters HR, PR, VAT, TD, TRD from data. and estimated correlation dimension, return map, power spectrum. Results show the nonlinear characteristics of ECG.

  • 본 연구의 목표는 요즘 선호되는 감성광고의 효과적인 제작을 위하여 소비자 감정에 관한 생리적 반응을 신체 내부 및 외부적으로 분석하고, 이들의 언어적 및 비언어적 발화방법을 제시함으로써 소비자 위주의 감성광고 제작의 기초를 제공해 주는 데 있다. 이 연구에서는 감성광고의 일반론적 고찰과 아울러 소비자 감성에 대한 기호학적 분석의 틀을 제공하며, 이를 기초로 감성광고를 위한 소비자 생리반응의 언어적, 비언어적 발화양상들을 분석하게 된다. 이러한 작업들은 소비자 감성에 호소하는 효율적인 감성광고 제작의 틀을 제시할 것이다.

노인에게 적용한 타이치운동의 논문분석 (Analysis of the Effectiveness of Tai Chi Exercise in Elderly)

  • Purpose: This study aims to conduct a systematic review of the physical, psychosocial and physiological effects of Tai Chi exercise in elderly. Method: 37 articles from Medline search of foreign journals (1966-2006) were surveyed by the key words 'Tai Chi', 'Tai-chi program' and 'Tai-chi and elderly' limiting the range to age 65 or older, choosing clinical trial and randomized controlled trial research in English articles. Four articles were excluded due to methodological study, pilot study and review. The research was analyzed according to health status of the subjects, styles and forms of Tai Chi exercises, factors for physical, psychosocial and physiological measures. Result: A short forming Yang style was commonly used in chronic diseases and health for elderly. Variable outcome measures were used in Tai Chi studies relating to balance, muscle strength, walking and mobility, flexibility and cardiorespiratory function in physical measure, quality of life, depression, self-efficacy, health status, cognition and impact questionnaire in psychosocial measure, lipids, insulin resistance and hormone in physiological measure. Conclusion: Tai Chi exercise appears to have physical and psychosocial benefits and also appears to be safe for elderly and chronic diseases. It is suggested that future studies analyze statistical part of systematic reviews through meta analysis.
