  • The robot has recently emerged as a factor in the daily lives of humans, taking the form of a mechanical pet or similar source of entertainment. A robot system that is designed to co-exist with humans, i.e., a coexistence-type robot system, is important to be "it exists in various environments with the person, and robot system by which the interaction of a physical, informational emotion with the person etc. was valued". When studying the impact of intimacy in the human/robot relationship, we have to examine the problems that can arise as a result of physical intimacy(coordination on safety in the hardware side and a soft side). Furthermore, We should also consider the informational aspects of intimacy (recognition technology, and information transport and sharing). This paper reports the interim results of the research of a system configuration that enhances the physical intimacy relationship in the symbiosis of the human and the robot.

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate children's prosocial behavior by age and sex and to examine the relationship between children's prosocial moral reasoning and prosocial behavior by costs and types of tasks. The subjects were 300 3th-and 6th-graders enrolled in elementary schools in Seoul. The revised form of Prosocial Moral Dilemmas including costs and types of tasks was used. The tasks of prosocial behaviors included time-cost tasks, money-cost tasks and physical strength-cost tasks. For data analysis, the paired t-test, two-way ANOVA, and Pearson's Correlations were used. Major findings were as follows; (1)There was age difference in children's prosocial behavior. 6th-graders performed at a higher level than 3th-graders. Sex differences weren't significant. In low- and high-cost tasks and in time-, money-, and physical strength-cost tasks, there were (2) Scores on high-cost behavior tasks were higher than on low-cost tasks. (3) Children's prosocial moral reasoning was positively related to prosocial behavior; in low- and high-cost tasks, and in time-, money-, and physical strength-cost tasks.

  • This study deals with 'Sachlichkeit' , as essence of materiality that architectural building materials process, which forms the physical basis for actual building. There have beennu merous researches that deals with various elements that compose architecture, but the emphasis seemed to be concentrated on the meta-physical discussion concerning formal concept. An issue on sachlichkeit as materiality does not necessary mean to mention production process of architecture, rather it is aim of this study to seek possibility to find elements that generate architectural form, through interpreting meaning of materials as substructure generator to make architectural possible. Architectural act can be defined as a process where physical material in life is composed into architecture by the hands of architect. Material used in life is composed into architecture by the hands of architect. Material used in this process basically has neutral characteristic, so 'Sachlichkeit'solely depends on the intentions of architects. This study interprets the intention of architects through the frame of modern-basis proposed by Hilberseimer, and a result architecture is defined as an object projected by architect's subjectivity.

  • To serve the growing demand of the bidirectional information exchange, we propose a single relay selection (RS) scheme for physical-layer network coding (PNC) in a bidirectional cooperative network consisting of two sources and multiple relays. This RS scheme selects a single best relay by maximizing the bottleneck of the capacity region of both information flows in the bidirectional network. We show that the proposed RS rule minimizes the outage probability and that it can be used as a performance benchmark for any RS rules with PNC. We derive a closed-form exact expression of the outage probability for the proposed RS rule and show that it achieves full diversity gain. Finally, numerical results demonstrate the validity of our analysis.

  • The main purpose of this article is to make a handy Deep Friction Massager by using DFM in based on Dr. Cyriax's manual medicine. Also this study's aimed to heal soft tissue lesions - low back pain, neck pain, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, frozen shoulder, myofibrosis etc. - which has resolved adhesion scar tissue problem in soft tissue. The results of this study were as followings ; 1. Deep friction massager has a effect not only massage but also healing, because it is broken the physiologic bridge of scar tissue in soft tissue. 2. It is possible to reduce the fatigue and effort of therapists during the deep friction massage. 3. Deep friction massager is made of handy form, so it is very convenient of using and application to patients.

  • The use of electricity to evoke s skeletal muscle response is FES, which is a form of functional electrical stimulation. In the case of the damaged spinal cord, the technique can supply stimulation to the lower moter neurons and their muscle fiber, which have been disconnected from control of the higher nervous system. Recent advances in electronics, particularly miniaturization, have made possible the design of much improved systems of electrodes and stimulaters for FES. Clinical research has followed two main lines: the use of FES in the upper extremities for producing functional hand rehabilitation in quadriplegics and in the lower extremities for producing standing and gait in paraplegics.

  • The dimensions of the human body vary by age, sex, and race. The internal structure and outer dimensions of a body exposed to an electromagnetic field is important for accurate dosimetry. The average physical size of Korean adult males between the ages 18 to 24 was investigated, and a male volunteer was selected whose physical condition is within the physical standards, ${\pm}5%$. Magnetic resonance images and partially computerized tomography images of the volunteer were acquired. The intervals between the transverse images were 1 mm for the head and 3 mm for the rest of the body. About 30 different tissues were manually classified by an anatomist on the raw images, and the segmented images were implemented in the form of a text file appropriate for numerical formulation.

  • In this paper, we investigate physical layer security for multiple decode-and-forward (DF) relaying underlay cognitive radio networks (CRNs) with fixed transmit power at the secondary network against passive eavesdropping attacks. We propose a simple relay selection scheme to improve wireless transmission security based on the instantaneous channel information of all legitimate users and the statistical information about the eavesdropper channels. The closed-form expressions of the probability of non-zero secrecy capacity and the secrecy outage probability (SOP) are derived over independent and non-identically distributed Rayleigh fading environments. Furthermore, we conduct the asymptotic analysis to evaluate the secrecy diversity order performance and prove that full diversity is achieved by using the proposed relay selection. Finally, numerical results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis and depict that primary interference constrain has a significant impact on the secure performance and a proper transmit power for the second transmitters is preferred to be energy-efficient and improve the secure performance.

  • The purpose of this study was to validate the Korean version of the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) using Rasch analysis. The data was obtained from the assessments of 59 children with cerebral palsy in Korea and were applied to Rasch's rating scale model to estimate the difficulty and goodness-of-fit of each item. Rasch modeling helped us to identify 76 items from the original 88-item GMFM that form an unidimensional hierarchical scale to rearrange 76 items in order of difficulty. Reliability coefficients of the 88-item and 76-item GMFM were .99 and .99, respectively. In this preliminary report, the Korean version of GMFM seems to have significant validity and reliability. These results may be useful in assessment of gross motor functions in children with cerebral palsy.

  • Nonlinear partial differential equations are more suitable to model many physical phenomena in science and engineering. In this paper, we consider three nonlinear partial differential equations such as Novikov equation, an equation for surface water waves and the Geng-Xue coupled equation which serves as a model for the unidirectional propagation of the shallow water waves over a at bottom. The main objective in this paper is to apply the generalized Riccati equation mapping method for obtaining more exact traveling wave solutions of Novikov equation, an equation for surface water waves and the Geng-Xue coupled equation. More precisely, the obtained solutions are expressed in terms of the hyperbolic, the trigonometric and the rational functional form. Solutions obtained are potentially significant for the explanation of better insight of physical aspects of the considered nonlinear physical models.
