  • This paper summarizes the results of these efforts by offering a photovoltaic system structure in 50kW large scale applications installed in Chosun University dormitory roof and simulation tool. This describes configuration of utility interactive photovoltaic system which generated power supply for dormitory. In this paper represent 50kW utility PV system examination result.

후면전극형 태양전지의 열해석에 관한 연구 (Thermal Analysis for High Efficiency of Point Contact Solar Cell)

  • This paper was carried about thermal analysis for high efficiency point contact solar cell. Therefore, we carried about 2-D device and process simulator according to design and process parameters. As a result of simulations, power transfer efficiency have decreased more increasing temperature. Especially, power transfer efficiency of room temperature have been showed 25%. The other hand, power transfer efficiency of 350 K kalvin temperature have been showed 20%. Therefore, we will considered design with thermal dissipation of device.

  • 급속하게 발전하는 태양광발전산업에 맞추어 태양광발전시스템의 시험단계에 필요한 태양전지의 전압-전류 특성을 가지는 태양전지 시뮬레이터는 필수적이다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 기존의 방법과 달리 태양전지모듈의 표준시험 조건의 출력데이터와 주요 온도별, 광량별 데이터, 관계변수만을 가지고 온도와 광량의 변화에 따른 새로운 전류, 전압곡선 추출방법을 간단한 수식을 통해 해석하고, 하드웨어를 구성하여 다양한 조건에서 태양전지의 I-V Curve를 시뮬레이션 한다. 15kW급 태양전지 시뮬레이터의 시작품을 제작하여 실험을 통해 제안된 방법의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • In this paper, photovoltaic module integrated converter (MIC) based on active clamp current-fed half-bridge converter is proposed. The converter stage operates in zero-voltage condition using active clamp technique. The theoretical study and circuit design for proposed inverter are confirmed with PSIM simulator.

Synthesis of Highly Concentrated ZnO Nanorod Sol by Sol-gel Method and their Applications for Inverted Organic Solar Cells

  • The effects of the zinc oxide (ZnO) preparing process on the performance of inverted organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs) were explored. The morphology and size of ZnO nanoparticles were controlled, leading to more efficient charge collection from device and higher electron mobility compared with nanospheres. Nanosized ZnO particles were synthesized by using zinc acetate dihydrate and potassium hydroxide in methanol. Also, water was added into the reaction medium to control the morphology of ZnO nanocrystals from spherical particles to rods, and $NH_4OH$ was used to prevent the gelation of dispersion. Solution-processed ZnO thin films were deposited onto the ITO/glass substrate by using spin coating process and then ZnO films were used as an electron transport layer in inverted organic photovoltaic cells. The analyses were carried out by using TEM, FE-SEM, AFM, DLS, UV-Vis spectroscopy, current density-voltage characteristics and solar simulator.

  • Silicon feed stock shortage have acted as major restraints for growth of photovoltaic industry. Concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) system will reduce the use of silicon PV materials. This paper presents the application possibility of mono-crystalline silicon solar cell, which has increased in market share, for PV concentrator. We measured the power of solar cell using sun simulator and I-V curve tracer and compared the results. The comparison of results showed that the concentrated solar cell generated the power more approximately 7 times than without concentration in spite of non-heat sink. If CPV technology included heat sink combines already developed PV tracking system, it will have a merit economically.

  • We tried to find the possibility of mono-crystalline silicon solar cell for photovoltaic concentrating system which is major cost portion for PV system using fresnel lens. With solar simulator and I-V curve tracer, we analyzed maximum output characteristics and measured the temperature of concentrated area using infrared camera. Because of temperature increase, there was no merit when concentrating. But at low radiant power, it showed more efficient operation. The combination of heat-sink technology and tracking system to our concentrating PV system would give better performance results.

  • Based on the detailed analysis of output characteristics of PV array and residential load usage pattern, a design method to calculate optimal battery capacity for stand-alone PV generation systems is proposed. And also, according to power flow Actual irradiation and temperature data are analyzed to compose a PV array simulator and also six representative home appliances are electrically modeled for load simulator, along with 24hours usage pattern. The surplus and insufficient power can be calculated from the proposed simulation platform, so that selection of an optimal battery capacity can be possible. The theoretical analysis and design process will be explained, along with informative simulation results.

  • As the maximum power operating point (MPOP) of photovoltaic (PV) power systems changes with changing atmospheric conditions, the efficiency of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is important in PV power systems. Many MPPT techniques have been considered in the past, but techniques using microprocessors with appropriate MPPT algorithms are favored because of their flexibility and compatibility with different PV arrays. Although the efficiency of these MPPT algorithms is usually high, it drops noticeably in case of rapidly changing atmospheric conditions. In this paper, we proposed a new MPPT control method called improved perturb and observe method (ImP&O), anda simple voltage and current characteristic equation of a PV array for PV array simulator. Experimental results verify the accuracy and excellent performance of the proposed MPPT method. ImP&O algorithm is very simple, and has successful tracked the MPOP, even in case of rapidly changing atmospheric conditions.

  • A solar array simulator is a special power supply that regulates the output voltage and current to simulate the characteristics of a photovoltaic panel. The operating point of the panel is difficult to control with a single controller because of the non-linearity of the output curve, which is determined by the amount of irradiation, temperature, and panel material. In the conventional method, the output curve is divided into sections through the current and the voltage mode controls. It reduces the overall performance of the system due to the interchanging control mode. By using the single mode controller, the noise interference of the measured value and the stability of the control around the maximum power point were demonstrated. To solve these issues, this study proposes a new unified controller. The stability of the controller was analyzed along with operating principles, and performance improvement was experimentally verified.
