  • The present writers have raised some basic questions related to writing. Do the theses produced in the library and information science field tell our story\ulcorner Are they field-oriented\ulcorner Are they easy to be read and to be a n.0, pplied by the librarians\ulcorner Problems in writing include research theme, research method and writing style. The present writers have a n.0, pplied phenomenological a n.0, pproach to these problems, using the observation of 'Co-workers Team' and interpretation of the 'Term Paper Collection'(vol.1-vol.5). Co-workers Team members consist of professors and graduate students in the Department of Library, Archives and Information Studies of the Pusan National University. We have made some proposals in this paper: First, we should not talk about American story. We should talk about our own story, and go back to basic themes. This proposal is related to the innovation of research theme. Second, qualitative research method should be introduced extensively in library and information science. Third, the strict 'thesis-oriented' and 'text-oriented' writing style should be overcome. The prevalent writing style in our field is so uniform that they are not capable of describing the intricate problems like "our living library".ary".uot;.

  • This study investigated the main concerns and strategies in Indonesian large family businesses to undertake intergenerational succession effectively. The research data was obtained to shed light on the incumbents' mindsets, key preferences, and experiences during the succession process. Access to incumbents of large family businesses that are conglomerates is scant. The preceding survey research was conducted to sensitize with the intricacy of the intergenerational succession process in large family businesses before entailing interpretative phenomenology analysis of qualitative data from interviews, observations, and field notes by approaching family members in five conglomerate groups that have major impacts on the economy. The findings explicate the incumbents' preferred criteria in choosing their successors as well as their perceived concerns revolving around the appointment. Additionally, the incumbents' succession approaches such as apprentice learning by successors, adaptability to external forces by successors, nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit in successors, governance establishment in the firms, business interest stimulation in successors, role modeling by incumbents, and collaboration between family and key non-family members are elicited during the intergenerational succession process. This study concluded with noteworthy implications for incumbents and successors in large family businesses, especially providing explicit criteria and strategies to appoint suitable successors, and suggesting potential avenues for future research.

  • The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of the experiences of nurses in graduate school who fill multiple professional roles. The research's participants were women in the nursing profession studying towards postgraduate degrees. Their experiences were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method of qualitative research. The results showed that participants feel constantly short of time, pressure from the demands of their study, guilt owing to inability to fulfill family commitments, struggles related to the conflicts of multiple roles, and the feeling of satisfaction from accomplishing professional goals. This paper suggests that if nurses undergoing graduate study have an organized support system to help them perform the roles, they will find an identity in the nursing profession and will take care of their patients more professionally as a result. Such support depends in part on health administrators' greater understanding of the nurses' circumstances.
