Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the post-traumatic stress experiences of firefighters and paramedics. Methods: The participants were 20 fire fighters and paramedics who belong to the Busan Fire Department. Data were collected through in-depth, unstructured audio-taped interviews by the investigator over a six-month period. The participants were asked to describe their post-traumatic stress. The data were analyzed according to Giorgi's method for phenomenological analysis. Results: The interview data were organized by theme into 7 categories that emerged from the analysis. Participants faced various post-traumatic stresses working as fire fighters or paramedics. The categories were suffering from disastrous situations, feeling of fear and helplessness in the face of death, re-experiencing vividly the past traumatic situation, avoiding painful reminders of the trauma, emotional numbing as time passes, suffering from emotional arousal and increased anxiety, and struggling to cope with the post-traumatic stress. Conclusion: This study provides a better understanding of post-traumatic stress experiences from fire fighters and paramedics and the knowledge gained from this study will help in developing appropriate post-traumatic stress management programs.
The purpose of this study was to understand children's viewpoints on their fathers from a phenomenological perspective. Sixty nine elementary school children (2nd and 5th grade) were asked to write poems about their fathers. Through the poems, they described their feelings towards their fathers in their own words. Results indicated that the most prominent and popular description for the father was in terms of the provider of the family. Because of the excessive emphasis on the provider role, fathers are very busy and tired, and can not Participate actively in their children's daily life. As a result, many fathers are in an on-looker position in their homes, and their children are spoiled. On the other hand, children described their fathers as warm, kind- hearted, respectable and great images that gave everything to their children. They liked and sincerely appreciated these aspects of their fathers. Because of the gap between the ideal image of the father and the actual provider image of the father, children experience conflict and a psychological deficit of a father. We believe that this problem will be improved through the fathers' own awareness of their role which pays more attention to our children's wellbeing and a reform of the existing social system.
Purpose: This study was to understand the life experiences of adolescents who were the object of group bullying. Method: Data collection and analysis was done by the Colaizzi method. Data were collected by interviewing the participants and by further follow-up observations. Ten adolescents participated in the study. At that time five of them had already overcome the situation, three were still in a difficult situation and the other two participants were in a temporary absence from school. Results: In the analysis 109 significant statements, 31 themes, 12 clusters of themes and 5 categories emerged. The 5 categories are as follows ; feeling inferiority, not being cared for, loneliness, suffering pain and building a relationship and resignation. The 12 clusters of themes are as follows ; dejection, not being sturdy, mal-function of the family, indifference of the society, loneliness, vexation, suffering, grievance, positive intervention of a support system, exertion, harmonizing and abandonment. Conclusions: The results of this study will help professionals to understand these adolescents. Approaching them from the point of view of the whole man, can also be a practical methode for teaching.
Chloride penetration into concrete is a hot issue of concern all over the world, notwithstanding, very few attempts have been conducted to explore the effect of cracks on choride penetration. Cracks provoke to lose a main function of watertightness of concrete and lead to reduce the service life of concrete. For this reason, it is necessary to define a critical crack width to prevent a quick chloride penetration through crack. In this study, experiment is focused on establishing a critical crack width in terms of chloride penetration. Concrete specimens with different crack widths I crack lengths have been subjected to rapid chloride migration testing. In a side of analytical solution, a simple approach to quantify the chloride diffusion coefficient of only crack zone excluding sound concrete was proposed. The result clearly showed a critical crack width of 0.03 mm. Based on the experimental results, a phenomenological model was proposed to explain the meaning of critical crack width in practical engineering. In this model, cracked concrete zone was divided into three zones. These zones corresponded to a wide crack, a zone with micro-cracks and an uncracked zone.
Cultural heritage passing down to posterity is a global concern. But there are many culture heritage that not remained to now disappeared by various disasters. It is told that disaster is learnt from disaster. The most fundamental task in disaster prevention is to collect and analyze cases of accidents so as not to repeat a disaster. In other words, an analysis of various disaster-related materials and their countermeasures in the Joseon period is an actual condition-based phenomenological methodology used to prevent disasters at cultural properties today. In this context, it is important to collect histories of disasters in the Joseon period, to extract disaster-related historical data and to categorize the data to build a disaster literature database. This study has produced [Database of Disasters in the Joseon Era], a collection of articles on fire outbreaks based on The Annals and The Daily Records belonging to the Memory of the World. On the basis of this chronology, human and property damages caused by fires in Joseon have been examined, identified by districts, as well as disaster technologies, have been analyzed. It has also built disaster vulnerability maps in the Joseon Dynasty Era.

This study had the purpose to restore imaginary environment involved to symbolic thinking system of Eastern culture discontinued by scientific and reasonable rationalism of Western. To restore imaginary environment, this study selected example places such as Seoul, Beijing, Kyoto which were ancient cities of Korea, China, Japan each and used hermeneutics and phenomenological access method to draw out the element of imaginary environment by analyzing historical and cultural view of example cities. Through comparison and re-interpretation of historical and cultural view of three countries[Korea, China, Japan] in Northeast Asia, as the result of drawing imaginary environment involved within it, it was structured that the spirit and the factor of natural environment of places involved to each cities were reflected as the factor of civilized environment, organized that each element was united, and more sanctified the spirit of place step by step. This study has the meaning as first trial which comparatively analyzed city spaces of existent place of human life by new concept called imaginary environment. It may has the meaning that verifying the universality of imaginary environment involved to historical and cultural view of three Northeast Asian countries, however, there was limitation to examine specificity up to detailed elements of each city.

The characteristics of light in the paintings of Rembrandt van Rijn, Johaness Vermeer and Edward Hopper are very different. While Rembrandt and Vermeer lived in the 17th century, Hopper lived in the 20th century. Although this time gap, comparative study on their light-space relationship is important because there are spatial similarities as well as light differences. Most three painters' works depict interior spaces with one person inside. The interior space is filled with different light and shadow. In the Rembrandt's paintings, only part of the figure is lit in the ambiguous darkness. In the Vermeer's paintings, the soft indirect light is filled in the domestic space and the boundary between the figure and space is blurred. In the Hopper's paintings, the direct sunlight invades the interior and the figure confronts with strong daylight. These light differences were caused by the artists' intentions as well as the environmental situations. 4 case paintings of each artist were analyzed by phenomenological aspects and computerized light brightness test. Scale models were built to re-construct the three different light characteristics. The model experimentation will have potential to develop 2 dimensional art analysis into 3 dimensional space design by means of light. However it was very difficult to construct the three lights, the experimentation shows they have unique characteristics that can be applied to spatial design studies.
This study investigated Renaissance and Baroque architectural characteristics found in contemporary public buildings in Seoul, which are National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Seoul Branch(MMCA) and Dongdaemun Design Plaza(DDP). Among H. $W{\ddot{o}}lfflin^{\prime}s$ five categories for Renaissance-Baroque art study, four categories (Clearness/Unclearness, Plane/Recession, Closed form/Open form, Multiplicity/Unity) are applied for the analysis as the architectural issues of Transparency/Concealment, Exhibited/Experienced Depth, Formal/Figural, and Composed harmony/Generated Unity. As a result, MMCA showed the characteristics of the extreme of Modern classic such as transparency, homogenization of space, formalism, and composition of multiple elements. Meanwhile, the study could find various Baroque characteristics from DDP such as separation of indoor and outdoor, phenomenological depth, rule breaking, and generation of figure. The study finally argued that DDP would not be an anti-modern, but try to inherit and overcome the modern architecture to explore different possibilities, and that the similar relationship between Renaissance and Baroque art could be found in these two cases.
In this paper, a finite viscoelastic continuum model for rubber and its finite element analysis are presented. This finite viscoelatic model based on continuum mechanics is an extended model of Johnson and Wuigley's 1-D model. In this extended model, continuum based kinematic measures are rigorously defied and by using this kinematic measures, elastic stage law and flow rule are introduced. In kinematics, three configuration are introduced. In kinematics, three configuration are introduced. They are reference, current and virtual visco configurations. In elastic state law, it is assumed that at a certain time, there exists an elastic potential which describes the recoverable elastic energy. From this elastic potential, elastic state law is derived. The proposed flow rule is based on phenomenological observation. The flow rule gives precise relaxation response. In finite element approximation, mixed Lagrangian description is used, where total and similar method of updated Lagrangian descriptions are used together. This approach reduces the numerical job and gives simple nonlinear syatem of equations. To satisfy the incompressible condition, penalty-type modified Mooney-Rivlin energy function is adopted. By this method nearly incompressible condition is obtain the virtual visco configuration. For verification, uniaxial stretch tests are simulated for various stretch rates. The simulated results show good agreement with experiments. As a practical experiments. As a preactical example, pressurized rubber plate is simulated. The result shows finite viscoelastic effects clearly.
