  • The paper presents a novel phase locked loop(PLL) control method for robust three-phase thyristor dual converters under sag, notch, and phase loss conditions. This method is applied to three line to line voltages of grid to derive three phase angle errors from three separated single-phase PLLs. They can substitute for abnormal phase to guarantee the synchronization in the various grid fault conditions. The performance of novel PLL with moving average method is verified through simulations.

  • This paper presents a new control method of single-phase active power filter (APF) for the compensation of harmonic current components in nonlinear loads. To facilitate the possibility of complex calculation for harmonic current detection of the single phase, a single-phase system that has two phases was constructed by including an imaginary second-phase giving time delay to the load current. The imaginary phase, which lagged the load current T/4 (Here T is the fundamental cycle) is used in the conventional method. But in this proposed method, the new signal as the second phase is delayed by the filter. Because this control method is applied to a single-phase system, an instantaneous calculation was developed by using the rotating reference frames synchronized to source-frequency rather than by applying instantaneous reactive power theory that uses the conventional fixed reference frames. The control scheme of single-phase APF for the current source with R-L loads is applied to a laboratory prototype to verify the proposed control method.

  • This study proposes a method to reduce the phase error of the received signal to detect the object bearing. The phase shift of the received signal occurs due to the multipath of the signal by natural structure or artificial structures. When detecting the direction of the object using radio waves, the phase of the received signal cannot be accurately detected because of the phase bearing error in the object detection direction. The object detection direction estimation depends on the phase difference, antenna installation distance, signal source wavelength, frequency band and bearing angle. This study reduces the error of the phase bearing by using the phase delay of the relative phase difference for the signals incident on the two antennas. Through simulation, we analyzed the object direction detection performance of the proposed method and the existing method. Three targets are detected from the [-15°, 0°, 15°] direction. The existing method detects the target at [-13°, 3°, 17°], and the proposed method detects the at [-15°, 0°, 15°]. As a result of the simulation, the target detection direction of the proposed method is improved by 2 degrees compared to the existing method.

  • The current control methods of Y-connected 7 Phase BLDC motor are sine wave current control and square wave control. The sine wave current control method needs dq axis transformation of $7{\times}7$ matrix for current control and very complex. Also this method is not suitable for multi Phase BLDC motor of trapezoidal back emf wave. Therefore, in Y connected multi phase BLDC motor, the square wave current control methods are required. Generally, in the 3Phase BLDC system, Average current control method is used for current control. The average current is obtained that the summation of absolute value of each phase current magnitude is divided by the number of conduction phase. However, if average current control method is applied to multi-phase system, there is a problem that each phase currents are different. This problem affects unbalance of each phase torque and fluctuation of total torque. This paper proposed each phase current control method of Y connected 7Phase BLDC system. Proposed method is used for PI controller of each phase for each phase current control. This method can perfect square wave current control. Also, configuration of the method is easier than DQ axis transformation. Proposed method is verified through simulation and experiments.

  • In this paper, space voltage vector pulsewidth modulation for 2-phase inverter is proposed. When this method is appled to 2-phase induction motor, the phase difference of voltage between phase A and B is fixed at $90^{\circ}$and amplitude of voltage of phase Ais same with that of phase B. This method have advantages over low-power servo system because this is simple method comparing to 3-phase space vector method which requires d-q transform.

  • Even I the Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) method that measure the strain of object within wavelength of light is less visibility than Holographic Interferometry(HI) method, the merits of application, convenience and time-save have made the method practical in industry. However, the existing ESPI methods that are based on dual-exposure, real-time and time-average method have difficulties for accurate measurement, due to irregular intensity and shake of phase. Recently, in order to solve this problem, phase shifting method have been proposed. In this method, the path of reference light in interference is shifted to make improvement in distinction and precision. But this method includes too many noise, caused by the problem of relationship between object and phase. Therefore, a method to reduce noise muse be introduced. In this paper, least square fitting method is proposed. As results, the phase-map is influenced by precise phase shifting and current of notes and speckle pattern obtained by phase shifting method is improved on the existing method driven from time-average method.

  • Speckle interferometry with phase-shifting method has been applied to measurement of micro-scale displacement through optical signal processing. Four-step phase-shifting method by PZT is used to measure out-of-plane displacement in spot-welded cantilever and results of optical experiments are comparable to those of FEM. Phase-shifting method using Fourier transform by PZT is applied to measurement of in-plane displacement on rectangular steel plate with a circular hole. The results of optical experiment agree well with theoretical calculation. New phase-shifting method in speckle interferometry has been implemented with a quarter wave plate. In-plane displacement of specimen is measured by the new phase-shifting method. Results of optical experiment show that the quarter wave plate can be used for phase-shifting method that is cheap and easy to use in speckle interferometry.

  • A preconditioned numerical method for gas-liquid to-phase flow is applied to solve cavitating flow. The present method employs a density based finite-difference method of dual time-stepping integration procedure and Roe's flux difference splitting approximation with MUSCL-TVD scheme. A homogeneous equilibrium cavitation model is used. The method permits simple treatment of the whole gas-liquid two-phase flow field including wave propagation, large density changes and incompressible flow characteristics at low Mach number. By this method, two-dimensional internal flows through a venturi tuve and decelerating cascades are computed and discussed.

  • Shadow moire topography has been used as a noncontact method for measuring the 3-D shapes of objects. The moire fringes are results from the superposition of a master grating and its shadow projected on the surface of an object. But in case of the classical shadow moire method, in general, the resolution is a few tenths of millimeter. It is difficult to use a phase -shifting method in shadow moire because it is impossible to obtain uniform phase shifts on the whole field. But in this study , We introduce a phase-shifting method to improve the resolution of the classical shadow moire method. This method is based on the fact that if the depth of object is much less than the distance between the observer and the master grating, the phase shifts are almost uniform on the whole field area. Finally, we applied this new phase-shifting method to the measurement of the 3-D shape of a coin.

  • A compensation strategy for the phase-difference control method, which has been reported as a new driving method of a 2-phase inverter-fed induction motor, is proposed. The phase-difference control method extends the control range of the speed and eliminates the harmonic contents of the output voltage of the 2-phase inverter-fed induction motor. However, the phase-difference angle becomes narrower, motor efficiency deceases more and pulsating torque increases more. As the counterplan for these shortcomings of the phase-difference control method, a hybrid control method which combines the phase-difference control with the voltage control is proposed. The algorithm to realize a hybrid method is presented. As an example, a model composed of 5 regions has been analyzed by computer simulation in terms of motor performance and the results have been compared with experimental results.
