Magnetization Transfer (MT) imaging generates contrast dependent on the phenomenon of magnetization exchange between free water proton and restricted proton in macromolecules. In biological materials in knee, MT or cross-relaxation is commonly modeled using two spin pools identified by their different T2 relaxation times. Two models for cross-relaxation emphasize the role of proton chemical exchange between protons of water and exchangeable protons on macromolecules, as well as through dipole-dipole interaction between the water and macromolecule protons. The most essential tool in medical image manipulation is the ability to adjust the contrast and intensity. Thus, it is desirable to adjust the contrast and intensity of an image interactively in the real time. The proton density (PD) and T2-weighted SE MR images allow the depiction of knee structures and can demonstrate defects and gross morphologic changes. The PD- and T2-weighted images also show the cartilage internal pathology due to the more intermediate signal of the knee joint in these sequences. Suppression of fat extends the dynamic range of tissue contrast, removes chemical shift artifacts, and decreases motion-related ghost artifacts. Like fat saturation, phase sensitive methods are also based on the difference in precession frequencies of water and fat. In this study, phase sensitive methods look at the phase difference that is accumulated in time as a result of Larmor frequency differences rather than using this difference directly. Although how MT work was given with clinical evidence that leads to quantitative model for MT in tissues, the mathematical formalism used to describe the MT effect applies to explaining to evaluate knee disorder, such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear and meniscal tear. Calculation of the effect of the effect of the MT saturation is given in the magnetization transfer ratio (MTR) which is a quantitative measure of the relative decrease in signal intensity due to the MT pulse.

The elastoplastic response of functionally graded material (FGM) beams resting on a nonlinear elastic foundation to an eccentric axial load is investigated by using the finite element method. The FGM is assumed to be formed from ceramic and metal phases with their volume fraction vary in the thickness direction by a power-law function. A bilinear elastoplastic behavior is assumed for the metallic phase, and the effective elastoplastic properties of the FGM are evaluated by Tamura-Tomota-Ozawa (TTO) model. Based on the classical beam theory, a nonlinear finite beam element taking the shift in the neutral axis position into account is formulated and employed in the investigation. An incremental-iterative procedure in combination with the arc-length control method is employed in computing the equilibrium paths of the beams. The validation of the formulated element is confirmed by comparing the equilibrium paths obtained by using the present element and the one available in the literature. The numerical results show that the elastoplastic post-buckling of the FGM beams is unstable, and the post-buckling strength is higher for the beams associated with a higher ceramic content. Different from homogeneous beams, yielding in the FGM beam occurs in the layer near the ceramic layer before in the layer near metal surface. A parametric study is carried out to highlight the effect of the material distribution, foundation support and eccentric ratio on the elastoplastic response of the beams.

The stability and efficiency of structural control systems depend on the accuracy of mathematical model of the system to be controlled. In this study, state equation models of a small scale test structure and an AMD(active mass damper) are obtained separately using OKID(observer/Kalman filter identification) which is a time domain system identification method. The test structure with each floor acceleration as outputs is identified for two inputs - the ground acceleration and the acceleration of the moving mass of AMD relative to the installation floor - individually and the two identified state equation models are integrated into one by model reduction method. The AMD is identified with the motor control signal as an input and the relative acceleration of the moving mass as an output, and it is shown that the identified model has large damping ratio and phase shift. The transfer functions and the time histories reconstructed from the identified models of the test model and the AMD match well with those measured from the experiment.

In this paper, we have proposed a method which can make it possible to stably transmit and receive data like the ARC-164 radio frequency hopping environment as a S/W packet modem with PSK modulation. This is a method that the S/W packet modem with PSK digital modulation and the use of PC sound cards change over from data to voice signals and then transmit/receive data. We confirmed not only that it is possible to solve the slow speed communication with the use of sending data through multi-channels and PSK modulation that has the ability to methodically improve transmission rates, but also that it is possible to send the state of frequency hopping stably. In conclusion, we've confirmed both tactical values that though the transmission rate may be a tad slow, a state of frequency hopping of more than 94% confidence plus voice and data can be sent via radio at the same time. In this paper, the proposed S/W packet modem is only an implemented S/W component, so when we apply it to aircraft that we don't consider EMC problems with, then we have the advantage of a wider use of conventional UHF/VHF/HF radio that is possible to voice communication. If we recognize these operational requirements, we can apply for a lot of field equipment efficiently.
ELM, a characteristic line based method, was applied to advection-dispersion equation, and the results obtained were compared with those of Eulerian schemes(Stone-Brian and QUICKEST). The calculation methods consisted of Lagrangian interpolation scheme and cubic spline interpolation scheme for the advection calculation, and the Crank-Nicholson scheme for the dispersion calculation. The results of numerical methods were as follows: (1) for Gaussian hill: ELM, using Lagrangian interpolation scheme, gave the most accurate computational result, ELM, using cubic spline interpolation scheme, and QUICKEST scheme gave numerical damping for Peclet number 50. Stone-Brian scheme gave phase shift introduced in the numerical solution for Peclet number 10 and 50. (2) for advanced front: All schemes gave accurate computational results for Peclet number 1 and 4. ELM, Lagrangian interpolation scheme, and Stone,Brian scheme gave dissipation error and ELM, using cubic spline interpolation scheme, and QUICKEST scheme gave numerical oscillation for Peclet number 50.
Recent years, explosive welding structures have been widely used in many engineering fields. The bonding state detection of explosive welding structures is significant to prevent unscheduled failures and even catastrophic accidents. However, this task still faces challenges due to the complexity of the bonding interface. In this paper, a new method called dual-tree complex wavelet transform based permutation entropy (DTCWT-PE) is proposed to detect bonding state of such structures. Benefiting from the complex analytical wavelet function, the dual-tree complex wavelet transform (DTCWT) has better shift invariance and reduced spectral aliasing compared with the traditional wavelet transform. All those characters are good for characterizing the vibration response signals. Furthermore, as a statistical measure, permutation entropy (PE) quantifies the complexity of non-stationary signals through phase space reconstruction, and thus it can be used as a viable tool to detect the change of bonding state. In order to more accurate identification and detection of bonding state, PE values derived from DTCWT coefficients are proposed to extract the state information from the vibration response signal of explosive welding structure, and then the extracted PE values serve as input vectors of support vector machine (SVM) to identify the bonding state of the structure. The experiments on bonding state detection of explosive welding pipes are presented to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, the design of a current integrator for low-voltage, low-power, and high frequency applications using complementary high swing cascode current-mirror is presented. The proposed integrator decreases output current errors due to non-zero input resistance and non-infinite output resistance of the simple current integrator. As a design example, the 3rd order Butterworth lowpass filter is designed by a leapfrog method. Also, we apply the predistortion design method to reduce the magnitude distortion which occurs at a cutoff frequency by the undesirable phase shift of a lossless current integrator. The designed current-mode filter is simulated and examined by SPICE using 0.8$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS n-well process parameters. The simulation results show 20MHz cutoff frequency and 615㎼ power dissipation with a 2V power supply. And the cutoff frequency of the filters can be easily changed by the DC bias current.

Recently, due to the increasing interests in deep sea development, all possible efforts to the development of underwater unmanned working vehicles such as AUV(Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) or underwater robot are exerted. This paper proposes a new efficient acoustic-based underwater image data communication system, which ensures a certain level of maximum throughput regardless of the propagation delay of ultrasonic and allowsfast data transmission through the multiple ultrasonic communication channel. Proposed system consists of an acoustic transducer which operates at 136kHz center frequency and it's 10kHz bandwidth, pre-amplifier, $\pi/4 QPSK$(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) modulation/demodu-lation method, image compressing method using JPEG technique and modified Stop & Wait protocol. The experimental result of the system make it possible to transfer the underwater image as a high throughput at the basin test. The results of test are also verified which allows to desirable transmission performance compared with the existing developed system and the possibility to put the practical use of survey and investigation in the water.
Mn-added Barium hexaaluminates were manufactured by homogeneous precipitation method using Urea. The effects of water wash and dry temperature were analyzed by thermal weight analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, and scanning electron microscopy. Catalysts that went through the filtration step only produced pure hexaaluminate images compared to those that went through the water wash step. During the drying process, it seems that the remaining urea helps dehydration of the precursor and affects the phase shift of gibbsite to boehmite, which is easy to convert to pure hexaaluminate. The catalyst WO200 gave the best performance in the methane combustion reaction, and NOx was not emitted in the reaction for all catalysts. Hexaaluminates were found to affect reducing the highest CO emissions.

A high-quality audio/voice codec using the MDCT/IMDCT process can perfectly restore the current frame through an overlap-add process with the previous frame. In the overlap-add process, an algorithm delay equal to the frame length occurs. In this paper, we propose a MDCT/IMDCT process that reduces algorithm delay by using a variable phase shift in MDCT/IMDCT process. In this paper, a low-delay audio/speech codec was proposed by applying the low delay MDCT/IMDCT algorithm to the ITU-T standard codec G.729.1 codec. The algorithm delay in the MDCT/IMDCT process can be reduced from 20 ms to 1.25 ms. The performance of the decoded output signal of the audio/speech codec to which low-delay MDCT/IMDCT is applied is evaluated through the PESQ test, which is an objective quality test method. Despite of the reduction in transmission delay, it was confirmed that there is no difference in sound quality from the conventional method.
