  • It is well known that the structure of brain and consciousness of human have a phenomena of complex system. The human emotion have a many kind. The love is one of human emotion, which have been studied in sociology and psychology as a matter of great interested thing. In this paper, we consider a same and different time delay in love equation of Romeo and Juliet. We represent a behavior of love as a time series and phase portrait, and analyze the difference of behaviors between a same and different time delay.

  • Love which is one of the emotional of mankind, has been studied in sociology and psychology as a matter of great concern. Through such a research, the researchers have provided the basic mathematical model for love model, we cannot find nonlinear characteristics through the basic love model. Therefore, in this paper, in order to find nonlinear behaviors in the basic love model, we apply external force to the basic love model. Then we confirm the existence of nonlinear behaviors through time series and phase portrait. We also confirm that this nonlinear behaviors have the periodic doubling, chaotic phenomena and periodic process which are very similar to typical chaotic occurrence phenomena.

  • This paper presents a phase portrait analysis-based safety control algorithm for excavators, using adaptive sliding mode control. Since working postures and material types cause the excavator's rotational inertia to vary, the rotational inertia was estimated, and this estimation was used to design an adaptive sliding mode controller for collision avoidance of the excavator. In order to estimate the rotational inertia, the recursive least-squares estimation with multiple forgetting was applied with the information of the swing velocity of the excavator. For realistic evaluation, an actual working scenario-based performance evaluation was conducted. Based on the estimated rotational inertia and an analysis of estimation errors, sliding mode control inputs were computed. The actual working scenario-based performance evaluation of the designed safety algorithm was conducted, and the results showed that the developed safety control algorithm can efficiently avoid a collision with an object in consideration of rotational inertia variations.

  • During 50 years, the chaotic theory has begun to research with concerning in Mathematics and physics, and it has extended the fields to of engineering and social science. Recently, chaotic theory has progressed as a type of fusion research fused with natural science and social science. Such fused research includes problems for addiction, happiness of human, problem happened between family and love affairs between man and woman. In this paper, we consider the external environment based on love model which is one among fusion research, and when we consider colored noise in the external environment, we verify how the chaotic pattern is affected in the love model through time series and phase portrait.

  • We say that human have an animal of emotion. There are various kind in the emotion of human. One of among them, love has been studied in sociology and psychology as a matter of great concern. In this paper, we propose a novel love model with the delay time as response time for love. We also consider it in the Romeo and Juliet of love model to analyze their romantic behaviors. First we consider the Juliet only have a time delay, Romeo only have a time delay, and both Romeo and Juliet have a time delay. We represent their behaviors as time series and phase portrait, and we analyze their difference.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel dynamical love model of Romeo and Juliet, which has an external force with a fuzzy membership function. The external force used in the model has the characteristics of a Gaussian function. The chaotic behavior in the model is demonstrated using time series and phase portraits.

  • The pull-out frequency of a second-order phase lock loop (PLL) is an important parameter that quantifies the loop's ability to stay frequency locked under abrupt changes in the reference input frequency. In most cases, this must be determined numerically or approximated using asymptotic techniques, both of which require special knowledge, skills, and tools. An approximating formula is derived analytically for computing the pull-out frequency for a second-order Type II PLL that employs a sinusoidal characteristic phase detector. The pull-out frequency of such PLLs can be easily approximated to satisfactory accuracy with this formula using a modern scientific calculator.

  • The skin-tone in portrait photography is one of the most sensitive parts that need retouching by a photographer. To investigate the emotional reactions related to users' preferences for the skin-tone variations in portrait photography, two experiments were conducted. The first experiment included JND(Just Noticeable Difference) test to determine the general distribution of preferences with many photographs that varied in phases up to an extreme one, as a result, preferences for the brightest skin-tone and the red or magenta one were found. Based on the first experiment, we reduced the number of samples by adjusting their brightness to the brightest phase constantly. To intensify the second experiment, we reduced the number of the other colored samples to only one and made samples for five phases from green to magenta, namely the most preferred skin-tone in the first experiment. In the second experiment, the common preference for a neutral skin-tone and the partial difference between the two gender groups were found. In conclusion, the users' preference for a particular skin-tone was positively affected by emotions such as 'happiness' or 'comfortable'. With this investigation, we compiled some statistically meaningful facts to confirm that the preferences of the users depend positively on controlling the skin-tone in portrait photography.

  • In this note, we seek traveling wave solutions of a shallow water model in a one dimensional space by a simple but rigorous calculation. From the profile equation of traveling wave solutions, we need to investigate the phase portrait of a one dimensional ordinary differential equation $\tilde{u}^{\prime}=F(\tilde{u})$ connecting two end states of the traveling wave solution.
