  • The purpose of this study is to examine how relatively young old men become old people after retirement and how they view their forthcoming old age. We interviewed the aspects of lives of the 10 relatively young old men to attain the purpose. According to the interviews, it was difficult to get a job after retirement in our society even though they wanted to do. This paper focuses on how the process of lowering their expectation to work happened, how they viewed their forthcoming old age during the process. One of the results showed that whenever they had failed to attain a job, they had been asked to lower their expectation of work. It seemed that their expectation to work became weak. But the process of exclusion of social role took away not only their expectation to work but also their plan for the future. As a result, the gap between an individual who wanted to be younger and the society which made them older made to decrease the degree of satisfaction.

  • The aim of this study is to examine how time-use and activities are affected by work hours. To achieve this, we focused on the weekday time-use of full-time workers in Seoul Metropolitan Area(SMA). The long 'work hours' are under active discussions since it is related to the quality of life. However, many Social researcher thought that problem of Korean working hours is linked to quality of life in the abstract. Because activity connects time-use and quality of life, the key point is activity under time constraints. Therefore, travel patterns should be understood by time-use and activity patterns. This study composes trip-chains from travel data of 2010 Household Travel Survey(HTS). Grouping trip-chains by activity patterns, we could make sure that a few of activities after work is affected by a short free time. This study has potential implications for the policy of work hours and traffic problems in the evening, and will provide new geographical perspective related to measuring quality of life.

  • Flipped learning is necessary for modern education but quite difficult to implement. In pedagogical science, the question remains to what extent the practical work of the teacher in combination with the technologies of flipped learning will improve the quality of higher education. The aim of this article is to study the effectiveness and feasibility of using flipped learning technologies, assessing their perception by students (advantages and problems), identified an algorithm for introducing flipped learning technology in higher education institutions. Research methods. The main method is an experiment. An evaluation of the effectiveness of the study was conducted using a questionnaire and observation method. Statistical methods were used to evaluate the results of the experiment. The research hypothesis is that flipped learning allows the teacher to spend more time on an individual approach, to understand the real needs of students, and provide effective feedback, thereby improving the quality of learning and motivation of students, especially while studying complex material. The results of the study are to prove the effectiveness of the technology of flipped education in the study of complex disciplines, courses, topics. The use of flipped learning strategies improves the self-regulation of the educational process, group work skills, improves students' ability to learn, overcome difficulties. The technology of flipped learning in the presence of modern technical means and constant work on improving the level of digital literacy is an effective means for students to master complex topics and problematic issues that require additional consideration and discussion. The perspective of further research is the consideration of integrated approaches to the application of flipped learning technologies to the principles of STEAM-education, multilingual and multicultural programs, etc. It is also worth continuing to develop a set of methods aimed at enhancing the student's learning activities, the formation of group work skills, direct participation in creating the foundations of higher education.

  • The shift in the perspective on learning as participation draws attention to learners' identity work. This manuscript foregrounds the ongoing and fluid processes of identity, and focuses on the structure surrounding learners where identity work occurs and the expression of individual agency. From the perspective of learning as participation, we introduce Holland et al. (1998) identity-in-practice theory, as the theoretical lens that dialectically describes structure, agency and identity. The concepts representing this theory are 'figured world', 'positionality' and 'authoring self'. The figured world is a web of meaning encompassing the continuous construct/reconstruct through human actions and also exerts as the social force that shapes human actions. 'Positionality' on the other hand, means an understanding of one's social position in the world. The notion of 'authoring self', is a dimension that synthesizes the above two concepts, which describes the improvisation of one's self through the orchestration and collaboration of various social voices. Next, we analyzed and described various cases of this theory that we found within the scope of science education. However, due to the nature of this theory, which takes a sociocultural approach, international research studies cannot be simply applied to the Korean context. Therefore, we sought to expand the applicability of this theory as a methodological tool, by discussing the directions in which this theory can be used in a domestic context. It is intended that the introduction of this theory, which emphasizes multi-layered, continuous and cumulative identity work, will be used as a resource to further expand the horizon of science education reform that is required for the times.

  • One of perspective direction of microfabrication is direct laser writing technology that allows to create metal, semiconductive and dielectric micropatterns on substrate surface. In this work, a two step method, the combination of seed forming process, in which metallic Al seed was selectively generated on AlN ceramic substrate by direct writing technique using a pulsed Nd : YAG laser and subsequent electroless Ni plating on the activated Al seed, was presented. The effects of laser parameters such as pulse energy, scanning speed and pulse frequency on shape of Alseed and conductor line after electroless Ni plating were investigated. The nature of the laser activated surface is analyzed from XPS data. The line width of this metallic Al and Ni is analyzed using SEM. As a results, Al seed line with 24㎛ width and 100㎛ isolated line space is obtained. Finally, laser direct writing can be applied in the field between thin and thick film technique in electronic industry.

  • In this paper, we review recently emerging smart applications, and analyzed policy implications in light of digital convergence perspective. While extant literatures on smart applications mainly dealt with consumer behaviors based in technology acceptance model or innovation adoption, the research on digital management policy is rather limited. We intend to fill this research gap. As such, we first organize two categories of smart work and smart commerce, and investigate the representative service models, four service models were reviewed for each category respectively. Next, the three policy related constructs are extracted, which are QoL(Quality of Life), public impacts in both the positive and negative ways. Finally, empirical analysis following the Delphi principle was conducted to investigate the policy implications. The results offer useful insights for the further research in digital convergence related policy areas.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore teachers' workload and its sources from teachers' perspective. Toward the purpose, interviews with and essays written by teachers were analyzed to interpret the meaning of teachers' workload and examine the relationship between their workload and social forces. The results indicated that teachers' workload could be fully understood when amount, intensity and nature of teachers' work were considered together. Among them the nature of work centered on non-educational affairs was perceived most serious problem by the teachers. However, most of the teachers felt helpless at their situation largely made by socio-structural factors including neoliberalism, bureaucracy and authoritarianism. Such a submissive reaction of teachers interacted with the forces to contribute to sustain their predicament.

  • Organic and inorganic hybrid nanocomposites based on poly(ethylene 2,6-naphthalate) (PEN) and silica nanoparticles were prepared by a melt blending process. In particular, polymer nanocomposites consisting mostly of cheap conventional polyesters with very small quantities of inorganic nanoparticles are of great interest from an industrial perspective. The crystallization behavior of PEN/silica hybrid nanocomposites depended significantly on silica content and crystallization temperature. The activation energy of crystallization for PEN/silica hybrid nanocomposites was decreased by incorporating a small quantity of silica nanoparticles. Double melting behavior was observed in PEN/silica hybrid nanocomposites, and the equilibrium melting temperature decreased with increasing silica content. The fold surface free energy of PEN/silica hybrid nanocomposites decreased with increasing silica content. The work of chain folding (q) for PEN was estimated as $7.28{\times}10^{-20}J$ per molecular chain fold, while the q values for the PEN/silica 0.9 hybrid nanocomposite was $3.71{\times}10^{-20}J$, implying that the incorporation of silica nanoparticles lowers the work required to fold the polymer chains.

  • This paper explains the design and implementation of the ESA(Error Sharing Agent). ESA is a system that is suitable for detecting, sharing and recovering software error based on multimedia CSCW(Computer Supportes Cooperated Work). This system consists of an ED, ES, and ER. ED detects an error by hooking techniques. ES is an agent which is an error sharing system for distributed multimedia collaboration environment With error sharing system, a group cooperating users can share error applications. From the perspective of multimedia collaborative environment, an error application becomes another interactive presentation error is shared with participants engaged in a cooperative work. We propose how an error application can be treated as 'media' in a multimedia collaborative environment.
