An Analysis of Elementary School Students과 Personality, Scientific Attitude and Correlation Analysis of between Them (초등학생의 성격특성과 과학적 태도 분석과 이들의 상관관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze elementary school students' personality, scientific attitude and to find the correlation between elementary school students' personality and scientific attitude. To determine this, the distribution of sixth graders' personality and scientific attitude was examined and correlation between the lower categories of each one was analyzed. The test tools and the subject were decided through the two preliminary examination, personality test and scientific attitude test were investigated appling to a total of 354 sixth-grade students at eight elementary schools in this study. The test results were analyzed with averages, standard deviations, correlations, ANOVA using SPSS/PC/sup +/. The major results of analysis are as follows. First, the distribution of scientific attitude proved that the average of boys' curiosity was higher than that of girls' curiosity, but girls' average was higher than boys' average in criticalness property, cooperation property, preparation property, continuation property and patience property. The distribution of upper group and lower group in personality properties revealed that the ratio of upper group was higher than that of lower group in activity property, social property, but the ratio of lower group was higher than that of upper group in responsibility and reflective property. Second, the socio-populational variables affecting 6th graders' personality' and science attitude were a sex, a sibling order. The cognition variables affecting 6th graders' personality and science attitude were preference, extent of usability to practical life and interest of science. Third, analyzing the correlation between lower categories of personality and lower categories of science attitude revealed that activity property of personality rather highly correlated to willingness property, critical property at .399(p<.01), .351(p<.01) respectively. and that consideration property of personality highly correlated to curiosity, critical property at .451 (p<.01), .415(p<.01) respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Brand Personality to Marine Tourism Destination Images and Intention to Recommend. For this purpose, factor analysis was applied to 42 of J.Aaker's Brand Personality Scale and 5 personality dimensions were extracted. This analysis was also applied for cognitive and affective images and two of cognitive images and three of affective images were extracted. Multiple regression was done to estimate the relative effects of Brand Personality to both cognitive and affective images and intention to recommend. The results indicated brand personality influenced on both cognitive and affective images and intention to recommend directly and also found affective images was influenced by cognitive images. The results also suggested useful insight for future study. The Brand Personality Scale which developed for the product by Aaker might not be suitable for measuring the marine tourism destination brand personality and necessary to develop the new scale suitable for marine tourism destination personality, and be needed to study together with other moderating variance such as satisfaction and congruency with image to verifying the exact effect between different variables.

Unveiling the Mediating Role of Personality: Exploring the Nexus between Transformational Leadership and Work Stress in Public Organizations

  • This study investigates the interplay between transformational leadership, personality, and work stress in public organizations, focusing on public servants in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur. Data from 702 public servants in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, out of 800 distributed questionnaires, were analyzed. Rigorous analysis employed a structural equation model (SEM) with partial least squares (PLS-SEM) methodology. Our empirical analysis challenges the conventional belief of a positive correlation between transformational leadership and work stress in public organizations, revealing no direct link between transformational leadership and increased work stress in this context. Our study highlights a significant positive correlation between personality and work stress among public servants, emphasizing the role of individual personality characteristics in shaping work-related stress levels. Finally, personality emerged as a crucial mediator in the transformational leadership-work stress relationship, indicating that transformational leadership indirectly influences work stress through its impact on personality. This underscores the importance of considering personality as a mediating factor in understanding the transformational leadership-work stress dynamic in public organizations. In summary, our research provides insights into the relationship between transformational leadership, personality, and work stress in public organizations. These findings challenge conventional assumptions, emphasize individual differences in stress levels, and underscore the mediating role of personality in addressing work stress among public servants.

  • In this paper, we show the usefulness of an methodology using a neural network that it analyzes a relation between learning personality related variables of the Enneargram and learning personality types. The Enneargram is a tool to classify learning personality types. In other words, we analyzed patterns of learning personality types-actaul-spontaneous type, actual-routine type, conceptual-specific type, conceptual-global type - by using the fuzzy TAM network that are very useful tool for pattern analysis.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the personality change of rooks that would possibly result from kitchen environment. It's basically meant to determine the relationship of environment to personality, by investigating how cooks felt about their own personality before and after working as a cook and conducting a self-diagnostic personality test based on theories on kitchen environment and personality. The subjects in this study were the cooks who served af top-rated hotels in Seoul, and the survey was carried out from April 8 through 12, 2002. The collected data were encoded and analyzed with SPSS 10.0 program. To identify the characteristics of the subjects, frequency analysis was implemented, and reliability analysis, T-test and ANOVA were employee. To verify the reliability of the questionnaire items, Cronbach's Alpha that represented internal consistency was calculated, and factor analysis was fulfilled to minimize related variables about cuisine environment and eliminate irrelevant ones. The findings of this study were as below: Out of total 27 cuisine environment variables, 22 ones boiled down to six factors. Factor 1 was conflicts, and factor 2 was job performance. Factor 3 was work, and factor 4 was environment. Factor 5 was facilities, and factor 6 was social. To make better cuisine environment each and every part of kitchen environment that affects cook personality should be improved, and further, what causes employee turnover should be eliminated. In the future, there is a need for broader research effort that could cover more extensive region and a wider variety of subjects other than cooks at the top-rated hotels.

The Mediating Effect of Self-efficacy in the Relationship between Type D Personality and Health Promoting Behaviors of College Students (대학생의 D유형 성격과 건강증진행위 사이의 자기효능의 매개효과)

  • Purpose: This study examined the relationships among type D personality, self-efficacy, health promoting behaviors and mediating effects, as well as type D personality and health promoting behaviors of college students. Methods: From 10 May to 24 May 2013, a convenience sample of 223 subjects was recruited from a college in G city. Data analysis consisted of Pearson's correlation coefficient, followed by regression analysis. Results: The prevalence of type D personality was 21.4%. Type D individuals showed lower self-efficacy and interpersonal relationships than non-type D individuals. Type D personality (NA*SI) had signigicant negative correlations with self-efficacy and HPLP-II. Self-efficacy fully mediated the relationship between type D personality(NA*SI) and HPLP-II. Conclusion: One reason why type D individuals have maladaptive health behaviors is low self-efficacy.

Comparative Analysis of the Job Satisfaction by Personality Types of General Hospital Workers (의료기관 근로자의 성격유형별 직무만족 비교 분석)

  • Purposes: This study is comparative analysis of the job satisfaction by enneagram personality types of general hospital workers. Methodology: The data were collected from 312 workers of 3 general hospitals using standardized questionnaires. Personality types were examined using the enneagram, and job satisfaction was analyzed according to personality 9 types. Findings: In all personality types, it was found that communication had the most important influence on job satisfaction. In 1 type, reward system, working environment·welfare, and communication had a significant positive(+) effect on job satisfaction. In 7, 9 types, empowerment and communication had a significant positive influence on job satisfaction. Practical Implications: According to the personality type of the hospital workers, job satisfaction factors were found to be different. These results are expected to be important reference materials for human resources management in hospitals.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of store benevolence for impact on store loyalty of store environment and store personality. For this study, data were collected through questionnaires. The survey ran from March to May, 2011, the total of 330 respondents was used in analysis. The subjects consisted of adults living in the Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do region, and convenience sampling. For statistical analysis, SPSS 19.0 were used to verify the study model. The major results of the study show that store benevolence may play a linkage role of store environment, store personality on store loyalty. The store benevolence variable has the effect of partial mediation. The analysis of relationship between the variables of store environment (convenience, information service accessibility, accessibility, variation) and the store type show significant differences store environment (convenience, information service and the store type). The analysis of relationship between the variables of store personality(warm, fun, sophisticated, forward-looking) and the store type show significant differences store personality (warm, fun, sophisticated, forward-looking) and store type. The analysis of relationship between the variables of store environment(convenience, information service accessibility, accessibility, variation), and the demographic variables show significant differences in store environment (information service accessibility) regarding only age.   • This study verified the relationship between the personality traits and the job preference in the foodservice industry. Questionnaire was held with targeting to the persons who engage in the foodservice industry, especially restaurants located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Factor analysis, regression analysis, t-analysis and dispersion analysis were carried out as the methodology of this study to analyze the relation with the Big Five Theory of Personality, which includes agreeableness, conscientiousness, extraversion, openness to experience, and neuroticism and job preference. As a result, conscientiousness, openness to experience and neuroticism were founded as the meaningful factors of effect on the job preference. In order to promote the job preference in the foodservice industry, engagement of employees who have suitable personality traits should be considered as an important issue in result of this study.

The Analysis of Type D Personality Research as a Psychosocial Risk Factor in Cardiovascular Disease for Elders with a Chronic Disease (심혈관질환의 심리사회적 위험요인으로써의 D유형 성격에 관한 논문 분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper was to examine the relationship between type D personality and cardiovascular disease, and to suggest future research directions. Method: A literature search was conducted from the following nine databases: 1) MEDLINE, 2) CINAHL, 3) Pubmed Unrestricted, 4) PsycINFO, 5) KISS, 6) RICHIS, 7) RISS4U, and 8) Nanet. The combinations of the words, "type D personality", "personality", "heart", "cardiovascular", and "coronary" were used for keyword searches to find relevant articles. Twenty eight studies were identified. Result: Type D personality has been associated with increased morbidity and mortality in patients with established cardiovascular disease. Type D patients are also at increased risk for impaired quality of life, and seem to benefit less from medical and invasive treatment. Conclusion: There is substantial evidence for a relationship between type D personality and clinical outcomes related to cardiovascular disease. Randomized clinical trials are needed to further evaluate the value of controlling type D personality to improve survival and reduce morbidity in patients with cardiovascular disease. Accumulating evidence from this analysis indicates the urgent need to adopt a personality approach in order to optimize the identification of patients at risk for stress related cardiac events.
