  • The aim of this study is to investigate college students' opinion on participation in media education. The research question is as follows: first, what is the college students' perceptions who participated in media education? Second, what are the differences among the perceptions of college students who participated in media education? To answer these research questions, we used Q-methodology, which is more useful in organizing subjectivity types and opinions of students, both in explaining and sorting of data by characteristic and personal opinion. As a result, two types were found; type 1 is the active participation type that focuses on the active participation in media education as a productive tool and teaching method, as well as diminishing the current controls and restrictions on its use in education. On the other hand, type 2 is the growing adaptive type and is positive for the future development of media education in a transitional role, while they think that current media education for college students is not qualitative yet, a productive tool and the quality of the information message is lacking, and so on.

  • This study was conducted to empirically analyze the relationship between business and digital capabilities of small businesses on business satisfaction. To this end, business capabilities were subdivided into industry expertise and customer management expertise. Digital capabilities were subdivided into SNS activity, ease of ICT usability, and business utilization of ICT. At the same time, we examined how the moderating effect of performance of personal media education. A survey was conducted to empirically analyze this, and 200 sample who received personal media education were analyzed. SPSS 24.0 and Macro Process 4.0 were used for statistical analysis. As a result of the empirical analysis of this study, industry expertise, customer management expertise, SNS activity, and business utilization of ICT, all had a positive (+) significant effect on business satisfaction. On the other hand, the significant influence relationship on the ease of ICT usability was not tested. Industry expertise and business utilization of ICT were found to be variables that had a great influence. It was analyzed that personal media education performance plays a moderating role between SNS activity, business utilization of ICT and business satisfaction. The results of this study are meaningful in that they empirically analyze that these capabilities affect business satisfaction even for small businesses at a time when the importance of digital capabilities increases.

Twenty three video tapes related to the sex education were analysed. The data were sampled on the basis of the sex education instructions for primary and secondary schools published by the Seoul Office of Education in 1996 and the list of sex education information composed by the Planned Parenthood Federation of Korea with the following requirements. 1) The education materials are oriented to the middle and high school students as well a juveniles and are being used in public health centers and schools. 2) The education materials are not confined to the single subject such as AIDS or contraception. Because this study is focused on the analysis of image media, an analysis method widely and effectively used in public media study was chosen. The frequency analysis and percentage treatment were done by an SAS program. The results of the study are as follows : 1. An analysis of the material structure type showed that the frequency of the following subjects in 15 video tapes, composed as drama and cartoon, had this decreasing orde : sex behavior, sex relation ships, sex health, human development, personal technique, and society and culture. 2. The eight tapes of explanation and counseling showed a different sequence from that of the drama and cartoon material, primarily treating human development with 5419 seconds (47.9%) of type. The following were also considered in decreasing order: at 2000seconds (17.6%) sex behavior, at 1366 seconds (12.1%) sex health, at 1240 seconds (11.0%) society and culture, at 667 seconds (6.0%) relation ships, and at 611 seconds (5.4%) personal technique. 3. In a thematic analysis those education materials dealing with human development show this frequency sequence: anatomic physiology, reproduction, and adolescence. In relation, ships the sequence is dates, love, marriage and vows, and family. For personal technique, it is expressed as asking for help, and an empnasis on moral values. For sex behavior, they focus on abstinence, the co-responsibility of sex behavior, the sexual response of the human, and sexual nightmares. For the sex health area, the focus is contraception with abortion and reproductive health following that. In society and culture diversity is considered. 4. An analysis of the differences in production and content between 1980s and 1990s was also done. For materials produced in the 1980s the frequency of the subjects follows this order: sex behavior, human development, relation ships, sex health, personal technique, and society and culture with sub subjects such as abstinence, dating, adolescence, anatomic physiology, reproduction, calls for help, and the sexual response of a human being. For materials produced in the 1990s, highest frequency was sex behavior, the same as the 1980s. The rest of the material follows this decreasing order: relationships, human development, sex health, society and culture, and personal technique with sub subjects such as dating, co-resposibility in sex behavior, abstinence, and love frequently considered.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of instructional multi-media in Home Economics Education perceived by teachers. The data for this research were attained from 139 middle & high school teachers of Home Economics. The data were analyzed by frequency of distribution, mean, stand deviation. t-test and analysis of variance, scheffe test with SPSSWin 7.5 program. The results of this study are as follows: The effects of instructional multi-media were composed of four dimensions in this study; need, frequency of use, pros and cons. 1. From these four dimensions, the need has the highest and the frequency of use has the lowest score. 2. The effects of instructional multi-media are significantly related to personal & environmental characteristics. 1)Need of the instructional multi-media effects is significantly different according to age, experience of computer education and possession of a computer at home. Low and high age groups are higher in the need of the instructional multi-media effects score than middle group age and the more experience of computer education and possession of a computer at home are higher in that score. 2) Frequency of use is significantly different according to LAN system in school. The higher score of frequency of use is in a LAN system’s school. 3) Pros of the instructional multi-media effects is significantly different according to the level of education, experience of computer education and the type of school. Undergraduate high school teachers and the lower o experience of computer education are higher in the pros of the instructional multi-media effects score. 4) Cons of the instructional multi-media effects is significantly different according to the level of education. Graduate teachers are higher in the cons of the instructional multi-media effects score.

  • The importance of information media in personal lives has increased rapidly, indicating the average ages of users are becoming younger. School-age children, despite the inconsequential differences, are reported to have used the internet for their free time, information search, communications, and education. Recent researches are focused on various variables affecting internet-addictions since these problems have become a major issue in education due to prolonged use of the internet or mobile. The regulations as a preventative measure and the setting of standard are also considered as major issues of research. In terms of policy, there should be revisions on laws and regulations about the internet and mobile in order to protect school-age children from vicious environments. For the education's part, there should be appropriate amount of education, for children and their parents, on how to use computers and the internet properly and how to prevent internet-addiction.

  • Multicultural education is not about learning about a specific ethnic group, but rather developing the ability to cross the border of one's own culture and have conversations with people of other cultures. I think the purpose is to promote empathy and consideration. This study emphasizes the importance of developing multi-dimensional educational programs for all members of society for multicultural social integration, and it is necessary to lead personal, social and civic action movements to create a fair society through media-based multicultural literacy education. said that In order to achieve harmony and integration in a multicultural society, it is the most important to acknowledge cultural diversity and to discard cultural prejudices and inequalities for symbiosis between the mainstream culture and the minority culture. In particular, the United States and Germany, which have successfully led multicultural social integration, are comprehensive in all areas, including interculturalism based on peaceful coexistence and respect, labor market issues, vocational education issues, housing and health issues, and communication issues through media literacy. He led a multicultural national integration system with approaches and methods. Therefore, our multicultural education policy should also pursue a new paradigm that presupposes a change in the public's awareness of a multicultural society.
