동력차용 브레이크슈의 제동성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on the braking performance of a brake shoe for power car)

  • In this paper, we investigated the braking performance of a composite brake shoe for power car. Laboratory bench test and field tests were carried out to characterize the braking performance by the parameters such as friction coefficient, wear rate, braking temperature and stopping distance. Density distribution was found to have a significant influence on the wear rate. The composite brake shoe with even density distribution showed better braking performance. The braking performance of a composite brake shoe was also compared with that of a cast iron brake shoe which is currently being used. The result indicated the performance of the composite brake shoe is better than the cast iron brake shoe.

  • Trichloroethylene, which is one of the representative DNAPL, has been found in underground water sources as a result of the manufactural use, and disposal of the chemical. In this research, in situ air sparging method was chosen to reduce the TCE concentration from the source zone. The concentration reduction in the source zone resulting from air sparging is simulated using the modified STOMP Water-Air operational mode in a two dimensional axisymmetric domain and bench scale test is conducted to analyze the performance of air sparging. The results of laboratory tests are compared with numerical simulations.

  • 방사성 폐기물 소각기술 개발 자립의 일환으로 한국에너지연구소에서는 실험용 방사성폐기물 소각공정을 설치하여 운전중에 있다. 이 공정은 소각경험의 습득 및 소각 특성 시험, 여과기의 성능시험 등을 위하여 설치되었다. 종이와 폴리에틸렌 모의폐기물을 소각하여 공정의 경제성과 운전성을 나타내는 감용비과 제염계수를 결정하였다. 제염계수로부터 소각설비의 허용 비방사능치를 얻어내고 설비의 감용비를 산출하는 방법을 기술하였다. 실험용 소각공정에서의 가연성 폐기물에 함유된 핵종에 대한 인수기준치를 상기방법을 이용하여 제시하여 보았다.

  • 최근, 승용차는 물론 대형차에서도 하이브리드시스템 등의 전기동력방식을 도입하려는 연구개발이 활발하다. 기존의 내연기관을 대체하는 전기구동모터를 이용하여 차량을 구동하는 전기동력방식을 채용하는 것이 한층 더 효율적이며 가속성능, 승차감 등의 면에서도 유리한 점이 많다. 그러나 모터는 엔진과 전혀 다른 특징을 갖기 때문에 동력성능과 에너지효율에 관한 적합한 평가수법을 검토할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 전기구동버스에 대한 구동모터 시스템을 다이나모미터 상에서 운전하여, 노선버스의 운행패턴을 반영한 모의운전을 실시, 가속성능 및 에너지변환효율, 회생효과의 평가방법 등을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 실 주행 패턴운전에 대한 모터일률, 전력량 등의 계측으로부터 모터 변환효율은 90% 전후, 회생전력량은 요구전력량의 40% 이상으로 평가되었다.

  • 세계적으로 가입자망의 고도화 및 광대역화가 경쟁적으로 추진되고, 이에 따른 신규 서비스도 활성화되고 있는 추세이다. 국내 광통신 산업의 저변 확대와 육성 발전, 차세대 장비 개발, 광가입자망 기반 고품질 서비스 및 플랫폼 개발의 일환으로, ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute)에서는 자체적으로 FTTH(Fiber-To-the-Home) 표준 BMT(Bench Mark Test) 테스트베드와 네트워크 운영센터 및 IPTV 서비스 장비로 FTTH 서비스센터를 구축하고, 통신망사업자를 통하여 규모 있는 상용 광가입자망을 구축하고 연동하였다. 본 논문에서는 ETRI의 FTTH 서비스센터와 통신사업자의 상용 광가입자망 구축에 사용되는 FTTH E-PON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) 시스템에 대해 QoS(Qualiy of Service) 기반의 TPS(Triple Play Service)와 QoE(Quality of Experience) 측면에서 시험한 성능 평가 결과를 기술하였다.

디젤엔진용 전자식 EGR 밸브의 성능 특성 (Performance Characteristics of an Electronically Controlled EGR Valve for Diesel Engines)

  • 최근 디젤 차량의 NOx와 PM의 동시 저감을 위해 EGR 밸브와 EGR 쿨러로 구성된 modulated EGR 시스템이 디젤엔진에 장착되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 modulated EGR 시스템의 성능 평가를 위한 test bench를 설계, 제작한 후 2.0 L 디젤엔진용 전자식 EGR 밸브를 시험하였다. 또한 전자식 EGR 밸브의 성능을 밸브양정의 거동, 밸브 개폐시의 응답성, 밸브 통과 유량을 통하여 평가하였다. PWM 신호의 듀티율에 따른 밸브 양정의 거동은 비선형적이었으며, 밸브 개방과 폐쇄의 경로가 상이한 히스테리시스 현상을 나타냈다. 밸브 개방시 응답성은 통상의 기준을 만족하여 적절하였다. 끝으로 밸브 통과 유량은 듀티율 $40{\sim}60%$에서 듀티율과 밸브 전후의 차압에 의해 결정되나, 듀티율 60%이상에서는 차압에만 의존하였다.

자동차 공조기용 R12 및 R134a 대체 냉매의 성능평가 (Performance of Alternative Refrigerants for R12 and R134a in Automobile Air-Conditioners)

  • In this study, natural refrigerants and their mixtures that can supplement and replace R12 and R134a in automobile air-conditioners are studied. R134a is currently used as the refrigerant in new motor vehicle air conditioners, replacing the ozone depleting refrigerant R12. Although R134a has no ozone depletion potential, it has a relatively large global warming potential, approximately 1300 times that of $CO_2$ over a 100 year time horizon. For this reason, performance of natural refrigerants and their mixtures containing R152a, RE170 (Dimethylether, DME) and R600a (Isobutane) are measured under 2 different temperature conditions. They were tested in a refrigerating bench tester with an open type compressor. The test bench provided about 4 kW capacity and water and water/glycol mixture were employed as the secondary heat transfer fluids. Test results show that the coefficient of performance (COP) of these refrigerants is up to 21.55% higher than that of R12 in all temperature conditions. Overall, these fluids provide good performance with reasonable energy savings without any environmental problem and thus can be used as long term alternatives for automobile air-conditioners.

  • In this study, performance of 2 pure hydrocarbons R290 and R1270 was measured in an attempt to substitute R22 under 3 different temperature conditions. They were tested in a refrigerating bench tester with a hermetic rotary compressor. The test bench provided about 3.5 kW capacity and water and water/glycol mixture were employed as the secondary heat transfer fluids. All tests were conducted under the same external conditions resulting in the average saturation temperatures of $7/45^{\circ}C$ and $-7/41^{\circ}C$ and $-21/28^{\circ}C$ in the evaporator and condenser, respectively. Test results show that the coefficient of performance (COP) of these refrigerants is up to 11.54% higher than that of R22 in all temperature conditions. Compressor discharge temperatures were reduced by $14{\sim}31^{\circ}C$ with these fluids. There was no problem with mineral oil since the mixtures were mainly composed of hydrocarbons. The amount of charge was reduced up to 58% as compared to R22. Overall, these fluids provide good performance with reasonable energy savings without any environmental problem and thus can be used as long term alternatives for residential air-conditioning and heat pumping application.

  • The brake-by-wire technology is a new automotive chassis system that allows standard braking operations by electronic components with lighter weights and faster response. The brake-by-wire units such as EMB (Electro-Mechanical Brake) are controlled by electronic sensors and actuators and, thus, the fault diagnosis is essential for implementation. In this study, a model-based fault diagnosis system is developed for the sensors based on the analytical redundancy method. The fault detection algorithm is verified in simulations for various faulty cases. A test bench is built including the EMB unit and the performance of the proposed fault diagnosis system is evaluated through the experiment.
