The purposes of this study were to find out an evaluation scale that could predict wear comfort and to investigate the effect of the skin-contacting fiber type on the subjective sensation and microclimate. Sensorial evaluation was basically followed by the Human Perception Analysis (HPA) interviewing 144 consumers. Sixteen female subjects were participated in the sleeve wear test with and without wearing vapor permeable water repellent outerwear. Experimental sleeves were constructed using the same double knit by turning inside out to control other material effects except the skin-contacting fiber type, hence each different side of double knit, cotton side and the cotton/polypropylene blend side, was next to skin in each trial of the experiment. As results, it was noted that the term representing a combined feeling of thermal and wetness sensation, and muggy appeared to be a powerful language to measure perceptual responses of human subject among five dimensions of evaluation. although the ordinary users did not use the term very often. As for the comfort properties of double knits, it seemed that subjects slightly more preferred polypropylene/cotton blend to cotton as the skin-contacting fiber type when they wore outerwear and their skin were covered with sweat, although the result was rot statistically significant and need to be confirmed under higher work load.

Social entrepreneurship is increasingly gaining interest in developing countries for the great benefits of society. In Vietnam, the concept of social entrepreneurship is still quite new. Entrepreneurial intention is regarded as a useful and practial approach for understanding actual entrepreneurial behavior. The purpose of this paper is to develop an integrated model based on planned behavior to examine the direct and indirect effect of perceived access to finance on social entrepreneurial intention. The confirm factor analysis to study the latent constructs underlying determinants of planned behavioral theory, perceived access to finance and social entrepreneurial intention. Then, it applies the technique of structural equation modeling to explore relationships among latent constructs. There is no direct relationship between perceived access to finance and social entrepreneurial intention. Perceived access to finance only indirectly increases entrepreneurial intention through attitude towards behavior and perceived behavioral. This study focuses on the perceptual factor of financial access that affects entrepreneurial intentions. The study does not cover other in-depth issues of social entrepreneurship such as decision making, leadership, personality traits, social capital, and human capital. To establish an environment with a strong social entrepreneurial intention, a focus on developing perceived access to finance is an extremely important factor. This study also suggests that attitude towards behavior and perceived behavioral have a strong impact to social entrepreneurship.
Image saliency detection is the basis of perceptual image processing, which is significant to subsequent image processing methods. Most saliency detection methods can detect only a single object with a high-contrast background, but they have no effect on the extraction of a salient object from images with complex low-contrast backgrounds. With the prior knowledge, this paper proposes a method for detecting salient objects by combining the boundary contrast map and the geodesics-like maps. This method can highlight the foreground uniformly and extract the salient objects efficiently in images with low-contrast backgrounds. The classical receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve, which compares the salient map with the ground truth map, does not reflect the human perception. An ROC curve with distance (distance receiver operating characteristic, DROC) is proposed in this paper, which takes the ROC curve closer to the human subjective perception. Experiments on three benchmark datasets and three low-contrast image datasets, with four evaluation methods including DROC, show that on comparing the eight state-of-the-art approaches, the proposed approach performs well.
The purpose of the present research was to study developmental trends in and relationships between recall, organizational strategy, and metamemory in young children. The subjects were 84 children, 14 boys and 14 girls at each age level, 4, 6, and 8. Two tasks (memory task & metamemory task) were used to assess children's recall, organizational strategy, and metamemory based on Sodian et al.(1986). All subjects were randomly assigned either to the play-and-remember condition or to the sort-and-remember condition. The two tasks were administered to children individually with the memory task followed by the metamemory task. The data were analysed by the statistical methods of two-way ANOVA, Student-Newman-Keuls post hoc test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Kendall's Tau. Children's recall (free, conceptually-cued, and perceptually-cued) level increased with age. There were significant experimental condition differences in free recall and conceptually-cued recall, but not in perceptually-cued recall. Children's organizational strategy showed differential developmental trends by experimental condition. Use of conceptual strategy at both encoding and retrieval increased with age in both experimental conditions. Use of perceptual strategy (PS) at encoding showed an inverted-U age effect in the play-and-remember condition, but PS decreased linearly with age in the sort-and-remember condition. There were significant age differences in metamemory, and there were significant correlations between recall and organizational strategy.
The atmosphere of foodservice facility is considered to be the total environment to which customers are exposed. Atmosphere is sometimes described as everything that makes an impression on people. On the other hand, mood is best described as the response of an individual to the various components that make up the atmosphere. Most people experience some type of reaction to the atmosphere that may be desirable or undesirable. If the individual response to the foofservice facility is favorable, the atmosphere has served to put that person into a good mood. In the highly competitive commercial restaurant field, the planning of the atmosphere for new facilities is going to be more important. The coming generation of potential customers is growing up in an environment that associates dining out with more than just good food. This study is characterized by the right atmosphere offerings. Thus, this study discusses the physical components affecting perception of atmosphere. Many of these components will be discussed in detail to show their relationship to the design of dining areas. This study identified the many physical components of atmosphere that can be manipulated and arrive at a combination that will give the desired sensations. With these backgrounds as a guide, this study presented alternatives which should not only provide atmosphere but should reach a satisfactory level of creating atmosphere from a practical standpoint. these is to maximise the perceptual effect, train the employees, and be reflected and be reflected the advertising and public relations.
This study evaluated the effect of the therapeutic methods between vocal function exercise(VFE), which has been used for the patients with presbyphonia in the precedent studies and laryngeal calibration technique($SKLCT^{(R)}$), which is designed by the author. We identified 58 patients who was been diagnosed as presbylaryngis by laryngoscopic examinations. 21 patients were underwent voice therapy using $SKLCT^{(R)}$, 20 patients were taken VFE, and the control group of 17 patients were not taken any voice therapy. All subjects received the therapy, ranging from seven to nine sessions, and were evaluated the voice change on pretherapy and posttherapy. The grade of hoarseness, roughness, and breathiness voice were reduced on perceptual judgments after $SKLCT^{(R)}$, but only grade of hoarseness was reduced after the VFE. Jitter, Shimmer, NHR were reduced and MPT were increased after the $SKLCT^{(R)}$(p<.05), while Jitter and SFF were reduced after the VFE. Frequency and intensity range were increased significantly on the posttest performance after taking voice therapy by the $SKLCT^{(R)}$, on the other hand only intensity range was increased after VFE. Especially, we can find the significant change that glottic gap and supraglottic compressions was reduced in most of patients after the $SKLCT^{(R)}$, but there's no changes in the group of VFE and control group. In the study, we can suggest that the $SKLCT^{(R)}$ may be useful in improving the voice qualities and laryngeal function of presbyphonia.
This study investigated whether the adjacency principle. demonstrated in a perceived visual space, can be applied to auditory space. In order to demonstrate an auditory adjacency principle, multiple sound sources were varied in direction and distance in an acoustically absorbant space. Specifically, a NEAR sound source was located 10° to the left of the listener's midline at a distance of 2 meters; a FAR sound source was located 10° to the right at a distance of 5 meters. These sources served as perceptual reference points with respect to the localization of three test sounds, all at a distance of 3 meters. Two of three test sounds were directionally closer to the NEAR and FAR reference sounds, respectively. The other was between the reference sources directionally. The listener was asked to judge the perceived distances and the loudness of the three test sounds and the two reference sounds. The results indicated that the apparent distances of the test sounds were most determined by the disparity of distance between each test sound and the reference sound most directionally adjacent to it. Therefore, the findings offer evidence that the adjacency principle can be applied to the auditory space.
This thesis focuses on a study of design science, which is of a disciplinary character. And the purpose of such a study is to suggest a new direction to develop aesthetics through an empirical research into environmental psychol-ogy, human behavior, design thought, and the visual qual-ity of environment. The author of this study, since recognizing the necessi-ty of understanding environmental aesthetics as well as the necessity of aesthetics, has done an elementary study of empirical aesthetes, and then obtained some facts as follows: First, it is possible to analyse the visual characteristics immanent in the interrelations between human and envi-ronment by means of applying both the information the-ory of formal perception and expressional value and the perceptual theory of ecology to environmental aesthetics. Second, formal aesthetics is a science about the form and structure and in the meantime, symbolic aesthetics is a science about the environmental patterns giving pleas-ure to mankind and its associative meanings. Accordingly it is same as providing some aesthetic value to the ob-ject of environment design to apply some empirical data of visual quality to environmental design. Through such a process, users are provided or delivered with diverse, visual effect. In conclusion, environmental aesthetics is worthwhile to study, and its purpose is that it, as a framework of use-ful knowledge to the creation of the environment superi-or in quality, be applied to design.

Conventional rate control (RC) schemes for H.264 video coding usually regulate output bit rate to match channel bandwidth by adjusting quantization parameter (QP) at fixed full frame rate, and the passive frame skipping to avoid buffer overflow usually occurs when scene changes or high motions exist in video sequences especially at low bit rate, which degrades spatial-temporal quality and causes jerky effect. In this paper, an active content adaptive frame skipping scheme is proposed instead of passive methods, which skips subjectively trivial frames by structural similarity (SSIM) measurement between the original frame and the interpolated frame via motion vector (MV) copy scheme. The saved bits from skipped frames are allocated to coded key ones to enhance their spatial quality, and the skipped frames are well recovered based on MV copy scheme from adjacent key ones at the decoder side to maintain constant frame rate. Experimental results show that the proposed active SSIM-based frameskip scheme acquires better and more consistent spatial-temporal quality both in objective (PSNR) and subjective (SSIM) sense with low complexity compared to classic fixed frame rate control method JVT-G012 and prior objective metric based frameskip method.

Background and Objectives : Functional aphonia is characterized by incomplete closure of the vocal folds. Semi-occluded vocal tract exercise (SOVTE) allows smoothly vocal folds collision without damage to the vocal folds tissues to produce normal vocal intensity. The purpose of this study is to report the effect of SOVTE in patients with functional aphonia. Materials and Method : Seven patients diagnosed with functional aphonia were treated with 1-3 voice therapy sessions using voiced lip-trill, humming, Lax Vox in SOVTE. To assess the effectiveness of semi-occluded vocal tract exercise, cepstral analysis and auditory perceptual assessment were performed before and after voice therapy. Results : F0 (fundamental frequency), CPP (cepstral peak prominence) and L/H ratio (low/high spectral ratio) were significantly increased, while CPP Standard deviation, L/H ratio Standard deviation were decreased. In addition, 'Grade', 'Breathiness' and 'Asthenia' were significantly decreased in the GRBAS scale after SOVTE (p<0.05). Conclusion : In our study, SOVTE seemed to be effective to elicit voice quickly and promote vocal folds vibration without muscular effort in patients with functional aphonia.
