The purpose of this study is to examine the psychometric properties of the Korean Children's Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire (K-CRSQ). In order to investigate the reliability and validity of the K-CRSQ, the data were collected from 286 elementary students. The results are as follow : Internal consistency and test -retest reliability of the K-CRSQ were .83~.89, .72~.79, respectively. To test the convergent and discriminant validity, participants were separated into two samples and administered the K-CRSQ and ten validity indices. The correlation of K-CRSQ and validity indices scores suggested that the convergent and discriminant validity are high. High rejection sensitivity group revealed high score on intentional attribution, depression, anxiety, and aggression. In contrast, low rejection sensitivity group revealed high score on self-esteem, perceived competence, and social support. The results were compared with previous studies and the implication and limitation were discussed.
Background: Measuring effects of cancer on family caregivers is important to develop methods which can improve their quality of life (QOL). Nevertheless, up to now, only a few tools have been developed to be used in this group. Among those, the Caregiver Quality of Life Index-Cancer Scale (CQOLC) has met minimum psychometric criteria in different populations in spite of conflicting results. The present study was conducted to evaluate reliability and validity of CQOLC among Turkish cancer family caregivers. Materials and Methods: The CQOLC was administered to 120 caregivers, along with Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Medical Outcomes Study MOS 36- Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Internal consistency and test-retest stability were used to investigate reliability. Construct validity was examined by using known group method, convergent, and divergent validity. For the known group method, we hypothesized that CQOLC scores would differ between depressed and non-depressed subjects. We investigated convergent validity by correlating scores for CQOLC with scores for other similar measures including SF-36 and STAI. The MSPSS was completed at the same time as CQOLC to provide divergent validity. Results: The values for internal consistency and test-retest correlation were 0.88 and 0.96, respectively. The CQOLC discriminated those who were depressed from those who were not. Convergent validity supported strong correlations between CQOLC scores and two main component scores (PCS, MCS) in SF-36 although there was a weak correlation between CQOLC and STAI scores. Regarding divergent validity, the correlation between CQOLC and MSPSS was in the low range, as expected. Conclusions: The Turkish CQOLC is a reliable and valid tool and it can be utilized to determine QOL of family caregivers.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the predictors of acculturative stress among Chinese students in Korea. Methods: Between October and December 2009, two hundred one Chinese students from three universities located in Cungnam province, were included in the current study using a questionnaire survey. Data analysis was done using SPSS/WIN 17.0 program. Results: The average score of acculturative stress was $38.50{\pm}6.97$. There were significant differences in acculturative stress according to educational level, economic status, type of residence, speaking skill in Korean, listening skill in Korean, grade point average, satisfaction for studying abroad, and perceived health status. The acculturative stress was significantly correlated with depression, resilience and social support. The strongest predictor of acculturative stress among Chinese students was depression. Conclusions: The findings suggest that developing programs to improve psychological health may provide a buffer against acculturative stress experienced by migrating Chinese students. Furthermore, more studies are needed to explore variables that influence on the international students' acculturation in Korea.
This study aims to provide basic data for hospital organizational management by analyzing perception of organizational culture of general hospital employees and its effect on organizational trust activities. A total of 437 employees from the 5 general hospitals in G city were surveyed with anonymous self-administered questionnaires and the result was analyzed by t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. As a result, there were differences in the perception of organizational trust culture depending on sex, age, education, and income. The perception of organizational trust culture had a significantly positive correlation with organizational trust activities. The factors such as consideration, social responsibility, morality, and competence had a significantly positive effect on organizational trust activities. This study would help to improve the organizational trust that is perceived by hospital employees by improving organizational trust culture with policy and institutional support.

This study was conducted to collect the baseline data of physical health status and nursing needs of the elderly for developing an educational program for nursing professionals. The data was collected from 287 people who were 65 years old or older belonging to a selected 8 out of the 39 welfare centers in Pusan during the period from February 25 to November 30, 1996. Socio-demographic characteristics, frequency of hospitalization, and the prevalence of chronic illnesses were measured to assess the physical health status of the center's elderly admitted to the hospital during the period of data collection. The 5-point Likert-type scale composed of 20 items was used. The data was analyzed with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences Program (SPSS PC+). The results were summarized as follows : 1. The proportion of elderly subjects with chronic illnesses was 73.6%. Among 6 types of chronic illnesses, hypertension was the most prevalent(23.7%), cardiovascular disease was the second(18.1%), gastrointestinal disease the third(17.1%), musculosskeletal disease the fourth(12.9%), liver and biliary disease the fifth(12.5%), and diabetes the sixth. 2. The average score of the subjects' health status was 3.649 on the 5-point Likert scale. Among the 6 factors related to physical health, personal hygiene was the strongest factor(4.612) ; elimination was the second(4.491) ; sensation the third(4.369), outside activity the fourth(3.675), digestion the fifth(3.331), and sexual life the sixth. 3. Gender, marital status, religion, educational level, family structure, living arrangements, and perceived health status were significantly related to the elderly's physical health status. 4. Among the nursing needs of the elderly, emotional support and care was the strongest need(74.2%) ; physical therapy was the second(73.2%) ; education about diease control the third(64.8%) ; medication the fourth(63.8%) ; and the range of motion exercise the fourth(61.0%).
Background: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship nursing personal and workplace system factors (work disability) and work ability index scores in Ontario, Canada. Methods: A total of 111 registered nurses were randomly selected from the total number of registered nurses on staff in the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum areas of four northeastern Ontario hospitals. Using a stratified random design approach, 51 participants were randomly selected in four northeastern Ontario cities. Results: A total of 51 (45.9% response rate) online questionnaires were returned and another 60 (54.1% response rate) were completed using the paper format. The obstetric workforce in northeastern Ontario was predominately female (94.6%) with a mean age of 41.9 (standard deviation = 10.2). In the personal systems model, three variables: marital status (p = 0.025), respondent ethnicity (p = 0.026), and mean number of patients per shift (p = 0.049) were significantly contributed to the variance in work ability scores. In the workplace system model, job and career satisfaction (p = 0.026) had a positive influence on work ability scores, while work absenteeism (p = 0.023) demonstrated an inverse relationship with work ability scores. In the combined model, all the predictors were significantly related to work ability scores. Conclusion: Work ability is closely related to job and career satisfaction, and perceived control at work among obstetric nursing. In order to improve work ability, nurses need to work in environments that support them and allow them to be engaged in the decision-making processes.

Background: Working conditions and psychosocial work factors have acquired an important role explaining the well-being and performance of professional drivers, including those working in the field of public transport. This study aimed to examine the association between job strain and the operational performance of public transport drivers and to compare the expositions with psychosocial risk at work of three different types of transport workers: taxi drivers, city bus drivers, and interurban bus drivers. Method: A sample of 780 professional drivers was drawn from three transport companies in Bogota (Colombia). The participants answered the Job Content Questionnaire and a set of sociodemographic and driving performance questions, including age, professional driving experience, work schedules, and accidents and penalties suffered in the last 2 years. Results: Analyses showed significant associations between measures of socio-labor variables and key performance indicators such road traffic accidents and penalties. Furthermore, multiple linear regression analysis contributed to explain significantly suffered accidents from key variables of the Job Demand-Control model, essentially from job strain. In addition, throughout post-hoc analyses, significant differences were found in terms of perceived social support, job strain, and job insecurity. Conclusion: Work stress is an issue that compromises the safety of professional drivers. This research provides evidence supporting a significant effect of job strain on the professional driver's performance. Moreover, the statistically significant differences between taxi drivers, city bus drivers, and interurban bus drivers in their expositions to work-related stress suggest the need for tailored occupational safety interventions on each occupational group.

New drug discovery and development research enable clinical treatment that saves human life and improves the quality of life, but the possibility of success with new drugs is significantly low despite a long time of 14 to 16 years and a large investment of 2 to 3 trillion won in traditional methods. As artificial intelligence is expected to radically change the new drug development paradigm, artificial intelligence new drug discovery and development projects are underway in various forms of collaboration, such as joint research between global pharmaceutical companies and IT companies, and government-private consortiums. This study uses the TOE framework and the Value-based Adoption Model, and the technical, organizational, and environmental factors that should be considered for the acceptance of AI technology at the level of the new drug research organization are the value of artificial intelligence technology. By analyzing the explanatory power of the relationship between perception and intention to use, it is intended to derive practical implications. Therefore, in this work, we present a research model in which technical, organizational, and environmental factors affecting the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies are mediated by strategic value recognition that takes into account all factors of benefit and sacrifice. Empirical analysis shows that usefulness, technicality, and innovativeness have significantly affected the perceived value of AI drug development systems, and that social influence and technology support infrastructure have significant impact on AI Drug Discovery and Development systems.
This study analyzed user reviews of Dongbaekjeon and Incheoneum app, which are representative local currencies in Korea, to identify the positive/negative factors of local currency users, and established a marketing strategy based on this. App user reviews were classified into positive and negative based on the star rating, and word cloud, topic modeling, and social network analysis were performed, respectively. As a result, in the negative reviews of Dongbaekjeon and Incheoneum, dissatisfaction with app use and card issuance appeared in common. In positive reviews, keywords such as 'local economy' and 'small business owners' along with satisfaction with 'cashback' appeared. It means that local currency users perceived that their consumption support local economy, and they felt satisfaction in using local currency. Based on the satisfaction/dissatisfaction factors identified as a result of the analysis of this study, we identified what needs to be improved and to be strengthened, and appropriate marketing strategies were established. The text mining method used in this study and research results can provide meaningful information about local currencies to public officials and marketers in charge of local currencies.
Background: Several previous studies have reported that quality of life (QoL) in hemodialysis patients affects mortality. However, the 36-item Short Form Health Survey, which has been used mainly in previous studies, is complicated in terms of questionnaire composition and interpretation. This study aimed to identify the impact of QoL on mortality in hemodialysis patients using an easier and simpler diagnostic tool. Methods: This retrospective study included 160 hemodialysis patients. QoL was evaluated using the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire-Brief version (WHOQOL-BREF). Psychosocial factors were evaluated using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Montreal Cognitive Assessment, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. We also evaluated medical factors, such as dialysis adequacy and laboratory results. Results: The mean hemodialysis vintage was 70.7±38.0 months. The proportion of patients who were elderly was higher in the mortality group than in the surviving group, and the Charlson Comorbidity Index score was also higher in the former group. Of the four domains of the WHOQOL-BREF, the physical health and psychological scores of the mortality group were significantly lower than those of the survival group. When the score in the physical health domain or psychological domain was ≤10, the 10-year mortality rate after hemodialysis initiation increased by approximately 2.3- and 2-fold, respectively. Conclusion: QoL may have a significant effect on mortality in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The WHOQOL-BREF is an instrument that can measure QoL relatively easily and can be used to improve the long-term prognosis of patients undergoing hemodialysis.
