The purpose of this study was to identify the differences of older adults' perceptions of foodservice quality attributes of current offerings in Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) in terms of their lifestyles (length of residency, special diet, housing option, travel frequency, dine out frequency), dining frequency, and demographics in the dining room of CCRCs. The survey was administered to residents in three CCRCs. Data was analyzed for 140 surveys using t-test, ANOVA, and factor analysis. This study found female older adults perceived the following attributes were more important than male ones: presentation of food, color and garnish, texture of vegetables, taste and flavor of food, and respectful attitude of serving staff. Older adults who have a special diet perceived the seasoning and bite sized pieces were more important than those who have a general diet. Also, there were significant differences between frequent visitors and occasional visitors in the dining room of CCRCs. By knowing the differences by residents' demographics and residential characteristics, the foodservice manager can establish strategies to increase the dining frequency of residents in the dining rooms of CCRCs.
This study aims to investigate the effect of the selection attribute of Newtro (New + Retro) product marketing, which is a recent topic in the food industry, on consumer satisfaction. Newtro marketing, also known as Newtro-style marketing, is a marketing strategy that emerged in South Korea, particularly in the food industry. Newtro marketing aims to appeal to consumers' nostalgia for the past while incorporating contemporary elements. As a research method, a survey was conducted on the importance of selection attributes and repurchase intention of Newtro food for consumer groups of various age groups ranging from teenagers to those in their 40s or older. To analyze the demographic content of the sample, frequency analysis of the SPSS statistical package was performed, and structural equation modeling was performed using the AMOS program for confirmatory factor analysis and discriminant validity analysis. The analysis results are as follows. First, Package Design, Perceived Healthiness, and Emotional Taste, optional attributes of Newtro marketing, significantly affected satisfaction. Second, satisfaction was found to have a statistically significant effect on repurchase intention. However, Functional Flavor did not statistically affect satisfaction. This study empirically analyzed the importance of consumers' selection attributes for the recently popular food Newtro marketing and suggested implications.

A total of 279 Koreans and 347 Americans were entered in the analysis. An independent t-test and 1-way analysis of variance were performed. RESULTS: Koreans rated type 4 format (kcal + traffic light) the highest for usefulness and attractiveness. In contrast, Americans rated type 7 (kcal + traffic light + %DI) the highest for usefulness, ease-of-understanding, attractiveness, and clarity. Significant differences were found in the customers' perceived attributes to menu labeling between Korea and the U.S. Americans perceived higher for all the 4 attributes of menu labeling than Koreans. CONCLUSIONS: The study is unique in identifying the differences in the attributes of different formats of menu labeling between Korea and the U.S. Americans rated the most complicated type of menu labeling as the highest perception for the attributes, and showed a higher use intention of menu labeling than Koreans. This study contributes to academia and industry for practicing menu labeling in different countries using different formats.

Based on store preference and store choice, respondents were divided into four preference(or choice) groups of: Independent fashion specialty store; Independent general fashion store; Department store and Brand-franchised store. MANOVA, ANOVA and $\chi$$^2$ analyses revealed that there were significant differences among 4 store preference groups on 3 store attribute factors(price, promotion, and merchandise & displays), fashion involvement, perceived financial risk and 5 demographic characteristics(age, gender, marital status, education and spending). Also, there were significant differences among 4 store choice groups on 3 shopping situations the respondents had experienced. With the rising importance placed on sustainability for brands, a plethora of research addresses consumer responses concerning eco-friendly products. While positive effects of eco-friendly traits on beauty products have been discussed, this study addresses a wide research gap in the makeup category. Based on the goal-attribute theory and the lay theory of ethicality, detrimental effects of eco-friendly ingredient claims on perceived appearance enhancement attributes (AEA) were examined. A between-subject, single-factor (eco-friendly ingredient claims present vs. absent) web-based experimental design tested the effect of conditions on makeup products that emphasized AEA. Results found a negative effect of eco-friendly ingredient claims on perceived AEA, supporting previous literature regarding the 'green gap'. Evidence showed that perceived AEA fully mediated the effect of eco-friendly claims on purchase intention, which was moderated by AEA preference. Interestingly, findings show that the purchase intention of respondents with a near-average preference for AEA was not moderated. Results contribute to preexisting literature by extending the lay theory of ethicality and product function mismatch to the field of makeup. Managerial implications are discussed, including opportunities for eco-friendly makeup products to appeal to alternative benefits.
