Many of penthouse apartments began to be built and distributed in Korea from the 2000s. However, we have a transformed definition from the international concept of penthouse. It seems that the penthouse apartments in Korea have a confined definition as a luxury and privileged house-we often find it out from advertisements of newly built apartments. In this thesis, therefore, it needs to make a clear and substantial definition of penthouse. And on the base of this definition, this study is intended to analyze planes of penthouse apartments which are distributed recently. It is in order to find out positive aspects of penthouse apartments and to make practical application of this analysis. The process of this study for plane-planning is as follows. Firstly, it is investigated and analyzed that external factors that have an effect on plane-planning such as locations and types of penthouse apartments. Secondly, an interior of penthouse apartments are divided into a private, public and outward area. And properties of each area through this research show the way of division and arrangement of plane. Thirdly, methods of connection between spaces is analyzed on the base of results of research for the way of partition. Finally, specific characters of penthouse apartments planning is derived from synthesis of research. In conclusion, analysis of plane-planning of penthouse apartments is summarized as follows. The majority of penthouse apartments is arranged to small portions of households and on higher stories in apartment which is situated around Han River or public parks. These external factors influence the plane-planning in both the interior and exterior way. For the exterior planning in space, it becomes important to design bays as many as possible in contact with outside in order to satisfy demands for fine prospects. It is also important to plan extra places naturally such as a terrace in order to provide virtual grounding. In the interior planning, a large size of interior induces to develop space for linking between each area, such as corridors or extra rooms. This makes it possible that the private area is linked to each other, at the same time it has its own distinctiveness according to its usage.

In this thesis, the safety assessment method of tile adversiting pillar tower on the penthouse were studied. From the structural analysis results of the adversiting pillar tower, the bending stress, the shearing stress and the axial stress were calculated, and these member forces were applied to the safety assessment of the adversiting pillar tower and the penthouse, respectively.

As a contemporary exponent of Bauderillard's Simulation and Simulacra, this paper aims to reflect on the 'consumer culture' criticized by Baudrillard from the lens of Christian Education in reading the Drama, Penthouse related to the notions of the consumption-ideology, the desire and violence of image in the post-Covid 19 era. As Baudrillard begins to realize that the concept of simulation rooted from mass media in the modern society, he explains mass media as the emerging of Simulation or the process of Simulation will lead to the impulsion of reality, which ends up with vanishing the original reality. Baudrillard is explaining in his argument that the process of Simulation proceeds among various areas of the contemporary society being manipulated by mass media. While Simulation is the process of producing the hyperreality characterized by the excess of images that seems more real than the original reality, Simulation brought about Simulacra as excess reality or consequently exploding reality. Christian educators in the post-Covid 19 must know how to deal with critical theory by considering positive ways of avoiding questioning of how to articulate what the norm of universal consensus is in the specific situation. In other words, it should be noted that the nature of the ruling ideology and the ideology of consumption has been influenced or manipulated by mass media. Christian educators especially have to help young people in seeing the messages from the images of the screens, television, soap-opera, and commercial advertising making reality as Simulacre which is more real than the original reality. When the medium becomes the message, the power of medium makes the consumer not reach communication with it. This is the main reason in the controversy about the images on television drama, Penthouse and the impact of images on people's mind. As an exponent of McLuhan's belief that "the medium is the message", Baudrillard argues although the message and a subject of Simulacra(excessive reality) is unexpectedly disappearing, the medium itself is vanished through the silence of image. However, the task of Christian education has to fuel how we teach, learn, share and pass on the Word of God as the Message. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the Message of God cannot be vanished or burst with the impulsion of it, but exists forever. With Baudrillard's ideas of Simulation and Simulacra in mind, the work of Christian education as an observation platform can better engage the reflection on a consumer society of consumerism that makes Church community and a consumer irresistible against the Fake world.

To determine the trajectories and the impact of rain drops on the facade of a tall building, a particle tracking method is employed form steady state simulation of turbulent flow around the building. The simulation is performed for the upper part of the building comprising a detailed louver system. Rain is trapped at relative high rates on the roof and the penthouse, with Local Intensity Factors (LIF's) of the order of 1. The upper parapets and upper floors get a fair amount of wetting with LIF's of the order of 0.6. The wetting decreases downwards reaching values of 0.2 to 0.25 at the level of the louver system.

In order to shorten construction duration in high-rise project, construction company tried to make various system method toward simplifying construction method and shortening construction duration. Though high-rise tower-type residential project are growing, there are few case study. Then, the data for preliminary schedule planning in high-rise tower-type residential project are rare. This purpose of research shows construction method in structural work in high-rise tower-type residential project, suggests schedule planning in structural work through case studies. The structural work in high-rise tower-type residential project was divided 1) completion of form in lower part and 2) the typical floor under penthouse. The statistical analysis were done in two parts, the data from analysis were used in simulation. Finally, researcher confirmed the difference between real construction duration and the figure from simulation. The results shows that the more construction duration is long, the less ACS's cost is low. It means the effectiveness is increasing in ACS, if the floor number is high.

Bong-amsa Temple is a special temple in the custody of Jogye sect, a branch of Buddhism in Korea. Due to limited public access to this temple, its Geungnakjeon(paradise shrine) has been little known to outside. But it is known that the Geungnakjeon has been not yet explored from academic standpoints in terms of its historical establishment as well as applications, and it would be two-storied wooden pagoda or the like. In order to examine its historical establishment, this study investigated historical records related to Bong-amsa Temple and its intrinsic architectural style. As a result, it was estimated that the building was established around the transitional period ranging from the late Koryo dynasty to the early Joseon dynasty. And it was found that the Geungnakjeon is not the two-storied wooden pagoda, but the unique building including an incidental component called Chayanggan(遮陽間; a sort of stepped penthouse) in Korea. In order to examine its possible applications, this study compared this building with other Buddhist funeral articles in forms similar thereto, such as Buddhist pagoda(僧塔), sarira container(舍利器) and Gamnodo(甘露圖) which depicts Byeoknyeon Daeban(碧蓮臺畔; a palanquin carrying malignant spirit). Then, this study estimated its possible applications on the basis of relevant historical literatures. As a result, it was found that this building was used as Wondang(願堂; a sort of Buddhist prayer house) to wish royal family's going to Nirvana after death, and it was not Confucian-style architecture popularized in the era of Joseon dynasty, but Buddhist-style architecture built widely from the era of Koryo dynasty to the early Joseon dynasty.

The combustion behaviors of the blends of Korean anthracite, bituminous coal and their blends were studied with a thermogravimetric analyzer. Concerning the burning profiles of the anthracite-bituminous coal blends in TGA, it has been observed the independent burning of two coals without any interaction between two coals. With the blends of 50% anthracite with 50% bituminous coal in weight basis, the combustion tests in a utility boiler have been carried out for the analysis of the combustion and operational characteristics by increasing the power output from 134 MW to 197 MW. The stable combustion has been observed in a boiler. With the increase of power output, the exhaust gas temperature was exceeded the design value of $430^{\circ}C$, so the combustion air was taken from atmosphere instead of the boiler penthouse.

High-rise building for dwelling has many factors to be considered in structural aspects. In particular, the higher the building, the bigger the lateral loads such as wind and earthquake due to its dynamic characteristics. Unlike the wind load, the earthquake load, even if the shape of the structures are similar, depends on structural characteristics and it is difficult to predict. For an apartment building, the water tank in the penthouse, due to its heavy weight, changes the behavior of a building when the earthquake occurs. The purpose of this study is to determine how the water tank affects the behavior of an apartment building when earthquake occurs. Dynamic analysis was accomplished on two cases - 1) water tank is considered 2) water tank is not considered - to understand how it affects the behavior of a high-rise apartment building. Structural design was accomplished to understand how the water tank and the peak acceleration affects each structural member. The effect of the water tank on the response of structure was large. Elsewhere the water tank has no effect on the design of a strutural member. However some structural members were affected when the peak acceleration of an earthquake is 0.4g.

Nowadays, plastic surgical operations are increasingly being performed in Korea. We have gained added interest in this because some professional pictures contain plastic surgery in their venue. In the films, we intend to see the recognition of society for plastic surgeons and which field of plastic surgery. The list of movies for analysis were 'Plastic Beauty (1975)', 'Penthouse Elephant (2005)', '200 Pounds Beauty (2006)', 'Cinderella (2006)', and 'Time (2006)'. The TV dramas were 'She is looking (2005)', 'Lovers (2006-2007)', and 'Before & After Plastic Surgery Clinic (2008)'. Films were analyzed according to the following: the chief complaints and names of the operations, character of plastic surgeons, result of the operation and its possibility in reality, and its effect of plastic surgery on the life of the patients. Most of the film contained facial transplantation or the change of the face or body different from the original shape. Character type of the plastic surgeons was mostly medical realism, rather than ideal humanism. Most of the plastic surgeons have capability as a doctor; however, some of them had extramarital affairs. The surgery was successful in most of the cases, but were the patients happy with the results? This was not the case in the movies. In only one movie, '200 Pounds Beauty', the patient became happy; rest of them were eminently unhappy with the outcome. Why the discrepancy? It is difficult to analyze the minds of the people in the films, but considering that the majority of the characters in the films were rather unsavory, one may deduce that a crooked mind functions differently. Perhaps it is too much to hope for a day that will come when we will see a film that portrays the mental anguish that accompanies each and every procedure the Korean plastic surgeons make.
