This study is to examine the effects of smartphone addiction on the mothers' parenting efficacy and parenting attitude. This study consisted of 203 smartphone using mothers of preschoolers in Gyonggi-do. The measurements included smartphone addiction scale(National Information Society Agency, 2011), the parenting efficacy scale(Choi & Chung, 2001), and the parenting attitude scale(Bae, 2005). Theses analyses were included in the Pearson correlation coefficient, the T-test, and the Hierarchical regression analysis. The findings indicated that the younger mothers showed higher levels of smartphone addiction. The results of smartphone addiction subscales on parenting efficacy indicated that the disturbance of adaptive functioning was related with general parenting ability, healthy parenting ability, communication ability, and learning guidance ability. The results of smartphone addiction subscales on parenting attitude showed that the disturbance of adaptive functioning was positively related with rejective parenting attitude and virtual life orientation was negatively associated with affective and autonomous parenting attitude. These findings can emphasize parents' appropriate smartphone use, and be useful resources to develop and utilize the programs of positive parenting efficacy and parenting attitude.

The purpose of this study was to provide the basic data needed to create more desirable psychological home environment and the prevention and relief of depression by examining the relations between psychological home environment and depression with the subjects of high school students. The study materials included standard questionnaires made up of forty two questions on psychological home environment by Dr. Jeong, Won-sik(1981), twenty one questions on depression indicators by Beck(1969). Collected data were analyzed by using SPSSWIN 10.0 Program through frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and Pearson correlation coefficient. The main results of this study were as follows; Out of 210 perfect scores for the psychological home environment of the subjects, the mean was $140.54{\pm}11.21$, opening was $41.02{\pm}5.67$, affection was $37.59{\pm}5.80$, autonomy was $35.45{\pm}4.85$, and achievement was $26.48{\pm}6.79$. The depression of the subjects were slight, showing $13.78{\pm}9.73$, with normal condition (0-9scores) 40.0%, slight depression(10-15scores) 23.3%, mild depression(16-23scores) 20.3%, severe depression(24-63scores) 16.4%. The analyses of the relation between psychological home environment and depression of the subjects reveal that achievement-depression(r=.192, p=.000), opening-depression (r=-.296, p=.000), affection-depression(r=-.377, p=.000), and autonomy-depression(r=-.341, p=.000) has all meaningful relations. In summary, these data can be interpreted that high school students were likely to feel more depressed when they recognized their own home environment as under the burden of achievement, and to feel less depressed when they recognized it as open, affectionate, and autonomous.
Objectives: The objectives of this study were to investigate the distribution and level of periodontopathic bacteria with the general characteristics and oral health condition of the elderly. Methods: A total of 335 elderly individuals aged 65 years or older who lived in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, were included in the study. Oral examination, investigation through a questionnaire, and collection of saliva were carried out. The collected saliva was analyzed for the distribution and levels of bacteria (red and orange complex bacteria) by real-time polymerase chain reaction. Statistical analyses were performed using chi-square test, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson's correlation coefficient with SAS statistical software version 9.4. Results: Among the general characteristics, there were significant differences in the distribution of Porphyromonas gingivalis, Treponema denticola, and Parvimonas micra depending on sex, age, and dental visits (p<0.05). The number of remaining teeth and denture use were related to the distribution of periodontopathic bacteria, except T. denticola (p<0.05). Additionally, periodontitis was related to the distribution of P. gingivalis (p<0.05). As the number of remaining teeth increased, the copy number of red and orange complex bacteria also increased (p<0.05). Those individuals who did not use dentures and had periodontal disease had more periodontopathic bacteria (p<0.05). Conclusions: The distribution and copy number of periodontopathic bacteria in the elderly were more related to oral health condition than to general characteristics. In particular, the distribution and copy number of periodontopathic bacteria were higher in subjects with multiple remaining teeth, no dentures, and periodontal disease.
This study examined the levels of risk perception of food risk elements by adopting a psychometric paradigm and analyzed factors affecting concerns about food risk elements to obtain basic materials for food safety policy. The data were collected from 296 housewives in Daegu, Korea, by a self-administered questionnaire. Frequency distributions, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach's ${alpha}$, and multiple regression analyses were conducted by SPSS 21.0. The mean level of concern for food safety was 3.75/5.00 points, and the mean percentage of correct answers about heavy metal contamination was highest among food risk elements. The respondents perceived radioactive contaminated foods, GM foods, and endocrine disruptors as a new, delayed, scientifically unknown, involuntary, serious, and uncontrollable risk in risk perception. According to the result of factor analysis for risk perception, two factors such as non-controllability and dread were categorized. In the risk perception map, radioactive contaminated foods and GM foods were considered as an uncontrollable and dreaded risk, heavy metal contamination, endocrine disruptors, and pesticide residues as a controllable and dreaded risk, and foodborne illness and food additives as a controllable and less dreaded risk. On the other hand, the levels of concerns about food risk elements were higher in order of radioactive contaminated foods, GM foods, and endocrine disruptors. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that age, concern for food safety, percentage of correct answers about food risk elements, non-controllability, and dread influenced the concerns about food risk elements. These results imply that food safety policies should consider differences in consumer's risk perception of food risk elements.
The purpose of this study was to examine the level of concern and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors, and the level of dietary behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors, to determine the factors affecting the level of knowledge and behaviors, and to assess the causal relationship between them. The data were collected from 579 adults in Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan and Gwangju provinces. Frequencies, t tests, analysis of variance, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, multiple regression analyses, and path analysis were carried out by SPSS for Win V.18.0. The results of this study were as follows: The level of concern about endocrine disruptors was higher than the medium level. The respondents were most concerned about a container of cup ramen among products related to foods. The levels of both knowledge and behaviors in order to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life were not high. The factors affecting the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors were educational level, attendance in education for endocrine disruptors, and concern about endocrine disruptors. On the other hand, sex, age, concern about endocrine disruptors, and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors affected the level of behaviors to decrease exposure toward endocrine disruptors. The results of the path analysis showed that educational level and education of endocrine disruptors had an indirect influence on the level of behaviors in order to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life. The concern about endocrine disruptors had both a direct and an indirect effect on the level of behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life. In addition, sex, age and the level of knowledge of endocrine disruptors directly affected the level of behaviors to decrease exposure to endocrine disruptors in dietary life.
The purpose of the study was to investigate whether there were differences between the Paternal child rearing Involvement and the Parental Satisfaction according to child's sex, father's age and the birth order of child. The subjects surveyed were 271 fathers 132 in their thiries and 139 in their forties who live in Kwang-ju. And the children considered are 128 boys and 143 girls. Among them, first-born children are 143 members, second-born are 103, and third-born are 25. Factor analysis, frequencies, mean, standard deviation, Cronbach's α, one way-ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and step-wise regression are used for data-analysis. The main results were as follows : (1) There were some significant differences in the Paternal child rearing Involvement according to the child's sex, while there was no difference as related the father's age and the birth-order of child. (2) The were some significant differences in the father's Parental Satisfaction which is involved child's sex and the father's age, but there was no difference as to the birth-order of child. (3) There were some significant differences between the Paternal Child rearing Involvement and the Parental Satisfaction, and between its subfactor and the Parental Satisfaction, too. (4) The result of the step-wise regression, which analyses the Paternal child rearing Involvement and the background variables as to father's Parental Satisfaction, shows the Parent-child relationship variable (accounted for about32% of the general variation), spouse support, support of children, general satisfaction, and parent's role conflict at intensity in order. Of the above mentioned five fields, house-activities were the first factor in determining this order. And the personal interaction plays an important role in fulfilling general satisfaction and the support of children. The leisure-action factor was the second explanatory factor in establishing the parent-child relationship. Finally father's age was the fourth explanatory factor in assessing the parent-child relationship variable considering the background variables.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the perceptions of nurses regarding their roles in social welfare facilities, including role expectation, role performance, and role conflict and its influencing factors. Methods: Data were collected by administering a structured questionnaire to 92 nurses working in 5 types of social welfare facilities. Descriptive statistics, paired t test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression analyses were performed using the SPSS Win 18.0 program. Results: The mean score of role expectation ($4.44{\pm}0.41$) was significantly higher(t =17.50, p<.001) than that of role performance ($3.46{\pm}0.005$). The biggest mean difference between role expectation and role performance was found in "research activities" ($2.92{\pm}0.81$). The mean score of role conflict was $2.89{\pm}0.66$, with the highest mean score found in "conflict caused when one nurse takes up two or more roles" ($3.31{\pm}0.69$). The influencing factors on role conflict were the difference between role expectation and role performance(${\beta}=.45$, p<.001), and facility size (${\beta}=-.37$, p<.001), which accounts for 51.5% incidence of role conflict controlling nurses' age, career, position, and working periods in social welfare facilities (F=17.13, p<.001). Conclusion: The nurses working in the social welfare facilities perceived some restrictions on their role performance compared with their role expectation, this difference being a major factor influencing their role conflict. Therefore, future studies need to investigate interventions to minimize this effect.

Purpose: (1) To evaluate the trabecular pattern at the femoral attachment of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) in patients with a PCL injury; (2) to analyze bone microarchitecture by applying gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM)-based texture analysis; and (3) to determine if there is a significant relationship between bone microarchitecture and posterior instability. Materials and Methods: The study included 96 patients with PCL tears. Trabecular patterns were evaluated on T2-weighted MRI qualitatively, and were evaluated by GLCM texture analysis quantitatively. The grades of posterior drawer test (PDT) and the degrees of posterior displacement on stress radiographs were recorded. The 96 patients were classified into two groups: acute and chronic injury. And 27 patients with no PCL injury were enrolled for control. Pearson's correlation coefficient and one-way ANOVA with Bonferroni test were conducted for statistical analyses. This protocol was approved by the Institutional Review Board. Results: A thick and anisotropic trabecular bone pattern was apparent in normal or acute injury (n = 57/61;93.4%), but was not prominent in chronic injury and posterior instability (n = 31/35;88.6%). Grades of PDT and degrees of posterior displacement on stress radiograph were not correlated with texture parameters. However, the texture analysis parameters of chronic injury were significantly different from those of acute injury and control groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The trabecular pattern and texture analysis parameters are useful in predicting posterior instability in patients with PCL injury. Evaluation of the bone microarchitecture resulting from altered biomechanics could advance the understanding of PCL function and improve the detection of PCL injury.
