넓은 부하범위에서 고효율 특성을 갖는 역율개선회로의 PWM 제어기 (PWM Controller of Power Factor Correction Circuit to Improve Efficiency for Wide Load Range)

  • This paper proposes a power factor correction circuit with a high efficiency over a wide load range characteristics for a communication power supply. And the characteristic verification is applied to produce a design of prototype. Power factor correction circuit can reduce conduction losses by applying Bridgeless Boost Converter for efficiency. Over a wide load range to maintain the efficient, the control method of a PWM controller is divided by two sections according to the load area. In the low-load region, it was reduced switching losses by applying the critical conduction mode control method. On the other hand, in the heavy-load area, the hysteresis current control method is used to maintain the high efficiency over a wide load range by limiting the peak noise of the inductor.

  • In this paper, the resonant switch model applicable to the DC and small signal analysis of the resonant converter is studied because the conventional PWM switch model can't be applied to the analysis of the resonant converter. The charge control is superior to the peak current control in QRC because QRC is operated in FM mode. So the charge control technique is adopted and used to compose the ZVS-QRC boost with feedback loop.

빠른 응답성을 갖는 가변속 DFIM 분석 (Analysis of Doubly Fed Variable-Speed Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant for Fast Response)

  • A pumped storage power station is an important means to solve the problem of peak load regulation and ensures the safety of power grid operation. The doubly fed variable-speed pumped storage (DFVSPS) system adopts a doubly fed induction machine (DFIM) to replace the synchronous machine used in traditional pumped storage. The stator of DFIM is connected to the power grid, and the three-phase excitation windings are symmetrically distributed on the rotor. Excitation current is supplied by the converter. The active and reactive power of the unit can be quickly adjusted by adjusting the amplitude, frequency, and phase of the rotor-side voltage or current through the converter. Compared with a conventional pumped storage hydropower station (C-PSH), DFVSPS power stations have various operating modes and frequent start-up and shutdown. This study introduces the structure and principle of the DFVSPS unit. Mathematical models of the unit, including a model of DFIM, a model of the pump-turbine, and a model of the converter and its control, are established. Fast power control strategies are proposed for the unit model. A 300 MW model of the DFVSPS unit is established in MATLAB/Simulink, and the response characteristics in generating mode are examined.

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대기기를 위한 고효율 전류구동방식의 DC-DC 벅 변환기를 제안한다. 제안된 전류구동방식의 DC-DC 컨버터는 파워스위치의 전도손실을 최소화하는 적응형 사구간 제어기법을 적용하여 부하전류에 따라 효율을 2~5%이상 향상시킨다. 설계된 DC-DC 벅 변환기는 0.35${\mu}m$ CMOS공정을 이용하여 칩으로 제작 되었으며, 전체 칩의 크기는 0.97$mm^2$이다. 제작된 칩의 입력전압범위는 2.5V~3.3V이고, 출력전압은 1.8V이며 리플전압은 10mV이하로 나타내고 있다. 최대 500mA의 부하 전류에서 구동할 수 있도록 설계 하였고, 200mA에서 최대 93%의 전력효율을 나타내고 있다.

Electrooxidation of Zolpidem and its Voltammetric Quantification in Standard and Pharmaceutical Formulation using Pencil Graphite Electrode

  • In this study a new, simple, precise, accurate and economic electrochemical method was developed and validated for the voltammetric determination of zolpidem (ZP) using disposable pencil graphite (PG) electrode. The anodic oxidation of ZP on the surface of the PG electrode was examined in a britton robinson (BR) buffer. Square wave and cyclic voltammetry were used as electrochemical techniques in the potential range of 0-1.2 V in the pH 8 BR buffer. In cyclic voltammetry studies, the diffusion coefficient of ZP oxidation was found to be 3.6×10-6 cm2 s-1. On the other hand, the ZP has shown a well-defined irreversible anodic peak at 0.98 V in the square wave voltammetry mode. The PG electrode, primarily being graphite which has a large active surface area gives rise to increasing peak current with respect to ZP electrooxidation. PG electrode showed an electrocatalytic effect in anodic oxidation of ZP. A linear relationship between catalytic current response and ZP concentration was obtained over a concentration range of 10-30 μM with R.S.D. values ranging from 0.29-3.89. Limits of detection and quantitation were found to be 1 and 3 μM, respectively. Finally, the PG electrode was successfully used to determine ZP in standard and tablet dosage forms with a mean recovery of 100.69 %.

PSNR-based Initial QP Determination for Low Bit Rate Video Coding

  • In H.264/AVC, the first frame of a group of pictures (GOP) is encoded in intra mode which generates a large number of bits. The number of bits for the I-frame affects the qualities of the following frames of a GOP since they are encoded using the bits remaining among the bits allocated to the GOP. In addition, the first frame is used for the inter mode encoding of the following frames. Thus, the initial quantization parameter (QP) affects the following frames as well as the first frame. In this paper, an adaptive peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR)-based initial QP determination algorithm is presented. In the proposed algorithm, a novel linear model is established based on the observation of the relation between the initial QPs and PSNRs of frames. Using the linear model and PSNR results of the encoded GOPs, the proposed algorithm accurately estimates the optimal initial QP which maximizes the PSNR of the current GOP. It is shown by experimental results that the proposed algorithm predicts the optimal initial QP accurately and thus achieves better PSNR performance than that of the existing algorithm.

  • 풀 브릿지 컨버터는 1차 측과 2차 측이 트랜스포머를 통하여 절연되어 있으며, 이 트랜스포머에 교번으로 전압을 걸어주어 1주기에 2번의 전력을 전달한다. 이러한 전력 전달 과정에서 트랜스포머에 흐르는 자화 전류에 오프셋이 발생할 수 있으며, 이는 효율 감소 및 소자의 파괴를 야기할 수 있으므로 제거하는 것이 바람직하다. 디지털 개발 환경에서 트랜스포머의 자화 전류 오프셋을 줄이고 동특성의 개선을 위하여 예측 제어 방식을 사용한 최대 전류 제어 방식을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 동작을 검증한다.

Polarization Insensitive CWDM Optical Demultiplexer Based on Polarization Splitter-rotator and Delayed Interferometric Optical Filter

  • We theoretically analyze and experimentally demonstrate a polarization-diversified four-channel optical demultiplexer (DeMUX) comprising a hybrid mode conversion-type polarization splitter rotator (PSR) and delayed Mach-Zehnder interferometer optical DeMUX for use in coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM)-based optical interconnect applications. The Si wire-based device fabricated by a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor-compatible process exhibited nearly the same filter spectral response irrespective of the input polarization state under the PSR. The device had an extremely low insertion loss of <1.0 dB, polarization-dependent loss of <1.0 dB, and interchannel imbalance of <0.5 dB, suppressing unwanted wavelength and polarization crosstalk from neighboring channels of <-20 dB at each peak transmission channel grid.

Reactive Power and Soft-Switching Capability Analysis of Dual-Active-Bridge DC-DC Converters with Dual-Phase-Shift Control

  • This paper focuses on a systematical and in-depth analysis of the reactive power and soft-switching regions of Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters with dual-phase-shift (DPS) control to achieve high efficiency in a wide operating range. The key features of the DPS operating modes are characterized and verified by analytical calculation and experimental tests. The mathematical expressions of the reactive power are derived and the reductions of the reactive power are illustrated with respect to a wide range of output power and voltage conversion ratios. The ZVS soft-switching boundary of the DPS is presented and one more leg with ZVS capability is achieved compared with the CPS control. With the selection of the optimal operating mode, the optimal phase-shift pair is determined by performance indices, which include the minimum peak or rms inductor current. All of the theoretical analysis and optimizations are verified by experimental tests. The experimental results with the DPS demonstrate the efficiency improvement for different load conditions and voltage conversion ratios.

적혈구의 산란빔 측정과 마이크로 세포 분석 바이오칩 제작 (The Scattering Beam Measurement of the RBC and the Fabrication of the Micro Cell Biochip)

  • 본 본문은 Bio-MEMS 공정으로 제작한 마이크로 세포 분석 바이오칩을 사용하여 적혈구의 광학적 특성을 전압으로 측정한 실험이다. Bio-MEMS 공정을 이용하여 세포의 원활한 이동과 측정 분석에 사용되는 글라스에 채널 패턴 에칭을 위하여 포토리소그래피(photolithography)와 산화완충식각(BOE: buffered oxide etchant) 공정 조건, 세포 분석과 정보 전달에 사용되는 광섬유의 에칭을 위하여 산화완충식각 공정 조건, 세포나 유체를 칩과 외부의 전달 등에 사용되는 글라스의 홀을 위하여 전기화학방전(ECD: electro chemical discharge) 공정 조건, 글라스 접합을 위한 자외선반응접합(UVSA: ultraviolet sensitive adhesives) 공정 조건을 정립하였다. 또한 유체나 세포의 흐름 제어를 위한 라미나 흐름 조건, 적혈구세포에 대한 산란빔 파형을 측정하였다. 적혈구 실험을 통하여 출력 광섬유의 각도에 따른 산란빔이 출력측의 광섬유각도가 $0^{\circ}$일 때 약 17 V, 각도가 $5^{\circ}$일 때 약 10 V, 각도가 $10^{\circ}$일 때 약 6 V, 각도가 $15^{\circ}$일 때 약 4 V의 전압(Vpp)으로 측정되었다. 따라서 마이크로 세포 분석 바이오칩 제작의 소형화, 단순화, 공정신간 단축, 정량화하였고 적혈구의 광학적 특성을 측정을 측정함으로써 의공학(biomedical), 바이오칩공학(biochip), 반도체공학(semiconductor), 생물정보학(bioinformatics) 등의 응용과학 분야 발전에 기여할 것으로 기대한다.
