Preparation and electrical properties of thick PZT films deposited on alumina substrates with Ag-Pd electrodes and Pt plates by spin-on process (Ag-Pd/알루미나 및 Pt전극에 스핀온 방법으로 제조된 PZT후막의 전기적 특성)

  • The electrical properties of thick PZT films deposited on Ag-Pd/$Al_2O_3$ and Pt electrodes were carefully investigated according to the annealing methods and the sub-strates. For electrical properties measurements, silver was deposited on PZT films as top electrode. The crystallogaphic structure of the films was examined by standard X-ray diffraction method to determine which crystalline phase was present. Dielctric constant was measured at 1 kHz, 10 mV by using a HP4284A. The electrical properties of PZT films with 3 wt% PbO addition were not improved. It was also found that the Ag-Pd layer has a good possibility as electrode instead of Pt. It seems clear from the present experiments that the thick PZT films having the good electrical properties can certainly be obtained using spin on technique combined with rapid thermal annealing.

  • Catalytic combustion is the environmental-friendly technology, which has been applied to a variety of areas for industrial and domestic use in recent years. Accordingly, this study performed the development of the catalytic manufacturing technology for the high temperature and of the catalytic combustor in priority, which were aimed to be applied to a commercialized boiler. Paliadium(Pd) of a noble metal was used as a catalyst for the high temperature and supported on alumina($Al_[2}O_{3}$) and zirconia($ZrO_{2}$) in constant weight ratio. Activity of Pd catalysts is compared and analyzed in the catalytic combustion of natural gas. The ratio of $Pd/Al_{2}O_{3}=4$ was found to be better than any other weight ratios in activity and durability. The performance examination of catalysts and of combustion through the plate-type combustor made it possible to be developed the cylindrical-type combustor which has increased combustion area. Catalytic combustion boiler of 25,000 kcal/hr class was also developed, which had the optimum combustion condition at the nozzle of 5.95mm and the orifice of 21mm. This condition was determined through the performance experiments of catalytic combustion boiler to which the cylindrical-type catalytic combustor was applied.

  • $\gamma-Al_2O_3$, $TiO_2$, ZrO에 Pt, Pd, Rh, Ru의 귀금속촉매를 분산하였으며, 촉매 분산은 과잉용액함침법으로 제조하였다. 저온에서 높은 산화능을 지닌 최소화된 귀금속의 함침량을 도출하기 위하여 연구를 수행하였다. 귀금속 촉매의 조성에 대한 영향을 도출하기 위하여 Rh, Pt, Pd, Ru에 대하여 조성과 함침량에 대하여 연구를 수행하였다. 충전층 반응기 및 모노리스 반응기를 이용한 촉매산화반응 실험결과 50% 전환온도 및 90% 전환온도를 측정한 결과 최적의 조성은 Pt-Rh /$Al_2O_3$ 촉매로 판명되었다.

Hydrogen Permeation Performance of Pd, Pd/Cu Membranes Manufactured through Electroless Plating (무전해 도금을 이용해 제작한 Pd, Pd/Cu 분리막의 수소 투과 성능)

  • Hydrogen permeation performance was analyzed by manufacturing Pd and Pd-Cu membranes through electroless plating. As a support for the Pd and Pd-Cu membranes, α-Al2O3 ceramic hollow fiber were used. Pd-Cu membrane was manufactured through sequential electroless plating, and then annealing was performed at 500°C, for 18 h in a hydrogen atmosphere to make Pd and Cu alloy. After annealing, the Pd-Cu membrane confirmed that the alloy was formed through EDS (Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy) and XRD (X-ray Diffraction) analysis. In addition, the thickness of the Pd and Pd-Cu plating layers were measured to be about 3.21 and 3.72 µm, respectively, through SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) analysis. Hydrogen permeation performance was tested for hydrogen permeation in the range of 350~450°C and 1~4 bar in hydrogen single gas and mixed gas (H2, N2). In a single hydrogen gas, Pd and Pd-Cu membranes have flux of up to 54.42 and 67.17 ml/cm2⋅ min at 450 °C and 4 bar. In the mixed gas, it was confirmed that the separation factors of 1308 and 453 were obtained under the conditions of 450 °C and 4 bar.

  • $Pd/SiO_2-Al_2O_3$ catalysts were prepared for the synthesis of pyridine and ${\beta}$-picoline from acrolein and ammonia. The activity of these catalysts decreased considerably by the formation of deposits on catalyst surface during the reaction. TPR study showed that the deposits were formed by the condensation polymerization of acrolein and ammonia. The conversion and production rate of pyridine and ${\beta}$-picoline decreased with the partial pressure of acrolein. The amount of deposits and the regeneration temperature of spent catalysts increased with the partial pressure of acrolein but they were independent of the concentration of ammonia.

  • To apply PDP panel, Soda lime glass(SLG) is cheeper than Non-alkali glass and PD-200 glass but has problems such as low strain temperature and ion diffusion by alkali metal oxide. In this paper suggest the methode that prohibits ion diffusion by deposing barrier layer on SLG. Indium thin oxide(ITO) thin films and barrier layers were prepared on SLG substrate by Rf-magnetron sputtering. These films show a high electrical resistivity and rough uniformity as compared with PD-200 glass due to the alkali ion from the SLG on diffuse to the ITO film by the heat treatment. However these properties can be improved by introducing a barrier layer of $SiO_2\;or\;Al_2O_3$ between ITO film and SLG substrate. The characteristics of films were examined by the 4-point probe, SEM, UV-VIS spectrometer, and X-ray diffraction. GDS analysis confirmed that barrier layer inhibited Na and Ka ion diffusion from SLG. Especially ITO films deposited on the $Al_2O_3$ barrier layer had higher properties than those deposited on the $SiO_2$ barrier layer.

  • The aim of this study is the development of technologies of methanol production from carbon dioxide by catalytic hydrogenation. Experiments about carbon dioxide hydrogenation by catalyst mixed with CuO, ZnO, $Cr_2O_3$ and $Al_2O_3$ were conducted to find optimum catalyst and reaction condition. Reactions were carried out at atmospheric and high pressures between 200 to $350^{\circ}C$. High yield of methanol was obtained with $Cu/ZnO/Cr_2O/Cr_2O_3/Al_2O_3$ catalyst at $250^{\circ}C$ and above 30 atmospheric pressure. There was not any increament of hydrogenation reactivity for the catalysts which was made by the addition of Pd to $Cu/ZnO/Cr_2O/Cr_2O_3/Al_2O_3$.

  • Pd based catalysts were prepared by impregnating palladium precursor using incipient wetness method on $TiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, $ZrO_2$, and $SiO_2$ and were applied for the selective oxidation of $H_2$ in the presence of CO. Their physicochemical properties were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), $N_2$-sorption, temperature programmed desorption of CO (CO-TPD) and (CO+$H_2O$)-TPD, temperature programmed reduction of CO (CO-TPR) and XPS a. The results of CO- and (CO+$H_2O$)-TPD showed the correlation between peak temperature of TPD and catalytic activities for $H_2$ and CO conversion. The $Pd/ZrO_2$ catalyst exhibited the highest conversion of $H_2$. The addition of $H_2O$ vapor promotes the conversion of $H_2$ and CO by inducing easy desorption of CO and $H_2$ in the competitive adsorption of $H_2O$, CO and $H_2$.
