  • Pb2+ ino, added in ctching sohing, is electrodeposited on a alumiunm foil for electrolycic condenser to promote its capacitance. In addition, several factoral factors in etching process are varied to examine how they change the capacitance of the condenser. The capacitance of the condenser made of 0.1 ppm pb electrodeposited aluminum foil is enhanced about 20% than of conventional ane. It is thought out that the enhanement is the result of the act of PbO2, which existed for the conveting of electrodeposited Pb, as a promoter tunnel etching of aluminum foil.

  • This paper describes fluxless soldering of reflow soldering process using solder foil instead of solder pastes. There is an increasing demand for the reliable solder connection in the recent high density microelectronic components technologies. And also, it is problem fracture of an Ozone layer due to freon as which is used to removal of remained flux on the substrate. This paper discussed joining phenomena, boudability and joining processes of microelectronics devices, such as between outer lead of VLSI package and copper pad on a substrate without flux. The shear strength of joints is 8 to 13 N using Sn/Pb (63/37 wt.%) solder foil with optimum joining conditions, meanwhile, in case of using Sn/In (52/48 wt.%) solder foil, it is possible to bond with low heating temperature of 550 K, and accomplish to high bonding strength of 25N in condition heating temperature of 650K. Finally, this paper experimentally shows fluxless soldering using solder foil, and accomplishes key technology of microsoldering processes.

  • We developed the copper core ball electroplated with Sn-Ag-Cu of the eutectic composition which used mostly as Pb free solder ball with high reliability. In order to search for the practicality of this developed copper core ball, the evaluation was executed by measuring the initial joint strength of the sample mounted on the substrate and reflowed and by measuring the joint strength of the sample after the high temperature leaving test and the constant temperature and the humidity leaving test. This evaluation was compered with those of the usual other copper core balls electroplated with (Sn,Sn-Ag,Sn-Cu,Sn-Bi) and the Sn-Ag-Cu solder ball.

  • In this work, we investigate anodization of Pb in ethylene glycol containing small amount of $NH_4F$, demonstrating that ${\beta}-PbF_2$ particles with octahedral morphology can be prepared by adjusting the applied potential and anodizing time. FE-SEM images and XRD measurements of anodic nanostructures as a function of anodizing time clearly show that PbO is first formed on Pb. Subsequently, a local dissolution of PbO leads to formation of skeleton structure of PbO, releasing $Pb^{2+}$ ions in the electrolyte. The lead ions can be precipitated on the walls or intersection of the skeleton walls when the concentration of lead ions is saturated. The method described in this article shows the feasibility of formation of metal fluoride crystal by anodization of metal in a fluoride containing solution.

  • A solar water battery is a system that generates power using solar energy. It is a combination of photoelectrochemical cells and an energy storage system. It can simultaneously convert and store solar energy without additional external voltage. Solar water batteries consist of photoelectrodes, storage electrodes and counter electrodes, and their properties and combination are important for the performance and the efficiency of the system. In this study, we tried to find the effect that changing the components of solar water batteries has on its system. The effects of the counter electrode during discharge, the kinds of photoelectrode and storage electrode materials, and electrolytes on the solar energy conversion and storage capacitance were studied. The optimized composition (TiO2 : NaFe-PB : Pt foil) exhibited 72.393 mAh g-1 of discharge capacity after 15 h of photocharging. It indicates that the efficiency of solar energy conversion and storage is largely affected by the configuration of the system. Also, the addition of organic pollutants to the chamber of the photoelectrode improved the battery's photo-current and discharge capacity by efficient photoelectron-hole pair separation with simultaneous degradation of organic pollutants. Solar water batteries are a new eco-friendly solar energy conversion and storage system that does not require additional external voltages. It is also expected to be used for water treatment that utilizes solar energy.

  • Anseong Cheonryongsa, a temple located in Anseong Seoun Mountain, is a part of the second Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, under the Yongju Temple, and enshrines a gilt-bronze seated Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. In this study, X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis revealed that this statue is composed of Cu-27.2 wt%, Sn-12.6 wt% and Pb-48 wt%. A gamma (γ) ray (Ir-192) image confirmed damage on the backside of the statue, which was later repaired with wood. The XRF analysis and visual observation determined the boundary between the metal and wood in the statue. In addition, results of standard X-ray peak intensity of gold foil and correlation with thickness helped to derive an equation for calculating the thickness of the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's gold foil. It was determined that the gilded chest (21 ㎛) and face (20.7 ㎛) of the statue were the thickest sections, the wooden substratum (11.9 ㎛) was the next-most thick, and the bronze (7.4 ㎛) was the thinnest layer.

  • The CZTS solar cell is a thin film solar cell using an absorption layer composed of Cu, Zn, Sn, Se, and S, and is cheaper than a CIGS solar cell using In and Ga and more eco-friendly than a perovskite and CdTe solar cell using Pb and Cd. In this study, we conducted a bending test for flexible CZTS solar cells. Experiments were conducted in the direction of inner benidng with compressive stress and outer bending with tensile stress, and during the number of bending 1,000 times with a radius of curvature of 50 mmR, the efficiency of the solar cell decreased by up to 12.7%, and the biggest cause of efficiency reduction in both directions was a large decrease in parallel resistance.
