A Conversational Analysis about Patient's Discomfort between a Patient with Cancer and a Nurse (불편감을 가진 암환자와의 간호대화 분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe and to analyze real communication about a patient's discomfort between a patient with cancer and a nurse. Method: A dialogue analysis method was utilized. Fifteen patients and 4 nurses who participated in this research gave permission to be videotaped. The data was collected from January, 3 to February 28, 2006. Results: The communication process consisted of 4 functional stages: 'introduction stage', 'assessment stage', 'intervention stage' and 'final stage'. After trying to analyze pattern reconstruction in the 'assessment stage' and 'intervention stage', sequential patterns were identified. In the assessment stage, if the nurse lead the communication, the sequential pattern was 'assessment question-answer' and if the patient lead the communication, it was 'complaint-response'. In the intervention stage, the sequential pattern was 'nursing intervention-acceptance'. Conclusion: This research suggests conversation patterns between patients with cancer and nurses. Therefore, this study will provide insight for nurses in cancer units by better understanding communication behaviors.

  • Recently, electric heating using midnight power has brought a rapid increase. due to a rise of oil price and a low tariff of midnight power. Therefore, the increase of midnight power use has much influenced on midnight load pattern. This paper estimates the load pattern due to midnight power equipments, analyzes the influence of the spread of midnight power equipments on midnight load and suggests reasonable spread level of equipments.

  • Total polysaccharide contents in Panax ginseng roots were evaluated by a spectrophotometry, utilizing the complex formation of ginseng polysaccharide with alcian blue dye in 50 mM ammonium biphosphate, pH 4.2. The total polysaccharide content in red ginseng was about three times higher than that in fresh ginseng when both were extracted with water, and was increased about two times when red ginseng was extracted with an alkaline solution. The determination of total polysaccharide in various parts of ginseng revealed that main roots contained the component more than fine roots. Fresh ginseng sections stained by the dye showed polysaccharide mainly found in cortex and cambium but not in epidermis. Pattern-analysis on total and acidic polysaccharides from fresh and red ginsengs exhibited that the chemical compositions of the polysaccharides extracted from both ginsengs quite differed from each other.

  • This research is carried out solving problem of reduction in the rate of operation for the k-1 tank in order to increase the availability, caused by the delay in supply of k-1 tank repair parts in field operations. In other words, the study aims to find the most suitable requirement estimate pattern for the main repair parts that are used for k-1 tank. This study intends to present the most suitable requirement estimate pattern for k-1 trank repair pats by comparing the results of repair parts consumption data in relation to their pattern created by the programs of the requirement estimate technique(moving average method) currently used in the Army and adaptive exponential smoothing model. The results of this study numerically proved that the adaptive exponential smoothing model is the most appropriate technique in estimating the requirement for k-1 tank repair parts.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented the Dual Band Dipole Antenna with Tapered Microstrip Balun for WLAN Access Point. Two dipole antennas with different resonant frequency and the antenna structure combined additional line were implemented for dual band performance. In order to feed the balun current, the tapered microstrip balun was used. Produced the Dual Band Antenna shows a special quality. The quality is that all VSWR is less than 1.5 in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands in 802.11 standards, and it profits not less than 1.7dBi having typical Dipole Antenna pattern the very "a form of 8"pattern and Omni-directional pattern.

  • In this paper, we propose a method that extracts invariant iris codes from user's iris pattern in order to apply these codes to a new cryptographic construct called fuzzy vault. The fuzzy vault, proposed by Juels and Sudan, has been used to manage cryptographic key safely by merging with biometrics. Generally, iris data has intra-variation of iris pattern according to sensed environmental changes, but cryptography requires correctness. Therefore, to combine iris data and fuzzy vault, we have to extract an invariant iris feature from iris pattern. In this paper, we obtain invariant iris codes by clustering iris features extracted by independent component analysis(ICA) transform. From experimental results, we proved that the iris codes extracted by our method are invariant to sensed environmental changes and can be used in fuzzy vault.

  • The purpose of this study was for analysis of ease about basic bodice pattern, as the first step of the research process for the drawing method of basic bodice for women in their twenties. The five selected basic bodice were made and they were worn by FRP body The garment space of each bodice was measured by analysis of the garment space of each section in figure of polymerization of cross section by a 3-D measuring instrument. The research suggests that this compared analysis is an objective reference. This analysis not only of the area of cross section of garment space and ease but also of the girth of the body shape and wearing shape, using the PAD system and 3-D measuring instrument, can be helpful in making garment patterns.

  • In the present study a new measurement technique has been developed, which uses an ultrasonic transmission signal in order to identify the vertical two phase flow pattern. The ultrasonic measurement system developed in the present study not only provides the information required for the identification of vertical two phase flow patterns but also makes real time identification possible. Various vertical two phase flow patterns such as bubbly, slug, churn, annular flow etc. have been accurately identified with the present ultrasonic measurement system under atmospheric condition. In addition, the present test apparatus can practically simulate the ultrasonic propagation characteristics under high temperature and high pressure systems. Therefore, it is expected that the present ultrasonic flow pattern identification technique could be applicable to the vertical two phase flow systems under high temperature and high pressure conditions.

Pattern Design for Women's Briefs (여성용 briefs 패턴설계 -20대 여성의 기본 사이즈를 중심으로-)

  • This study attempts to propose a pattern design of snug fitting midi briefs for women. Each briefs made of two kinds of fabric, cotton 40's and cotton 40's spandex, was produced for the research in a different shrinkage rate. The result of wearing test of the briefs-sold-in-the-market (BSM) and the briefs-specially-made-for-this-research (BSMR) were as follows: BSMR showed a higher mark than that of BSM in the sense of close fit on the torso, comfortableness, sense of being tight, satisfaction and beauty. In particular, the back design line of BSM gave a lower satisfaction to test wearers, while that of BSMR gave a more comfortableness to them, making their hip comfortably being wrapped by making smoother the angle of the straight line linking sidelines with clutch part, and making sidelines into curve. In a forward research, further studies about grading and other patterns but midi pattern of briefs would be examined.
