  • Patent and utility indicate international competitiveness in the knowledge-based society of the $21^{st}$century where both the quantity and quality of the nation's scientific intelligence and innovative technology represent key criteria to evaluate its strength. Thus, discerning the trends of patents is inevitable for further development. This research is centered on apprehending the technological current of the functional clothing of Korea, through an analysis of patents and utility models. The number of patent applications in Korea was low until the mid-1990s. However, it began to grow rapidly in the 2000s and the number of patents surpassed the number of utility starting in 2006. The technological level of invention in this field has been turned into a higher level. The IPC code with the strongest application was the field related to temperature controllable clothing (A41D 13/005), followed by surgeon or patient apparel related fields (A41D 13/12), and reflective or luminous safety devices (A41D 13/01).The main technological idea was to give functionality that could protect the human body from various hazards and represents the goal of various applied techniques. About 66% of domestic patent applications belong to individuals; however, the proportion of corporate or institutional applications(including universities) remains poor. Consequently, more systematic and long-term support for research on patents is required.

  • There are several materials for the hydrogen storage such as hydrogen storage alloy, carbon nanomaterials, non-carbon nanomaterials, compounds etc. Efficient and inexpensive hydrogen storage is an essential prerequisite for the utilization of hydrogen, one of the new and clean energy sources. Many researches have been widely performed for the hydrogen storage techniques and materials having high storage capacity and stability. In this paper, the patents concerning the carbon nanomaterial hydrogen storage method were gathered and analyzed. The search range was limited in the open patents of Korea(KR), Japan(JP), USA(US) and European Union(EP) from 1996 to 2006. Patents were gathered by using key-words searching and filtered by filtering criteria. The trends of the patents was analyzed by the years, countries, companies, and technologies.

  • Patent analysis is the extracting knowledge which is needed for the company's research and development strategy through accumulated worldwide patent database. In order to set the future direction corresponding technology which is scheduled to be developed, the technology trends and deployment processes are identified by analyzing results of present patent applications. The patent analysis provides the required results for analyzing present patent applications. In this paper, technology classification for related patent analysis methods and system, and patent analysis for desalination technology using solar energy development was carried out as well. The patents in Korea, USA, Japan, China, and Europe were searched. The technology trend desalination technology using solar energy was analyzed based on patent application year, countries, main applications, and each technologies. The application status of desalination patents showed a tendency to increase slightly. It was found that the number of patent for applied desalination was USA patent 21.0%, Japan patent 27.0%, China 24.8%, EU 2.7% and Korea patent 24.5%, respectively.

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to collate inventors' improvements of air extraction cupping technology by reviewing patent applications in Korea. The cost of procurement and use of air extraction cupping devices are covered by health insurance. Methods: Patents registered in Korea for air extraction cupping devices from August 1992 to January 2018 (registration, expiration, rejection, abandonment, and disclosure) were analyzed to determine technology trends. The Korean patent search engine used was Kipris (www.kipris.or.kr). Results: Sixty-seven Korean patents for air extraction cupping devices were retrieved. Most patents focused on design of the top valve of the device, the device at the bottom, an internal device, and the disposable cupping glass. In total 17.9% of patents were registered and 64.2% were abolished [either from non-payment of registration fees (93%) or expiration of the patent after 10 years (7%)]. The average registration period was 3.7 years. Conclusion: The patents retrieved for this study focused on the development of the air exhaust valve, disposable cups, and skin adhesion maintenance technology in cupping devices that use air extraction. The average registration period was 3.7 years, meaning the patents that were not commercialized, expired without additional registration renewals. It is important to acquire a New Excellent Technology certificate for a cupping device to promote commercialization.

  • This study analyzed 467patent for toothbrush that used for oral hearlth, registered for 10years from 2008 to 2017 at KIPRIS which can search patent. Based on the toothbush composition, 8categories were detailed information was subdivided. As a result showed that the most patents were patent for toothbrush bristle, patent for additional function, patent for electronic toothbrush, patent for toothbrush's head, patent for toothbrush in different form, patent for toothbrush's neck, patent for learning of brushing habits, patent for toothbrush's handle. The patent that has a variety of the section was a patent for additional function, the patent for toothbrush bristle was the highest that is 25 in 2012. The only increasing number of patents compared to toothbrush patents, which are decreasing slightly in 2017, was the Patent for learning of brushing habits and the patent for toothbrush's handle. As a result, from 2009, the number of patents for toothbrushes has increased and varied.

  • This study has derived the patents of the technology that have been filed and registered so far to investigate the trends of virtual reality(VR) experience contents technology, and analyzed them focusing on core patent technologies. The patents of Korea, USA, Japan, Europe and PCT, which were released until June 2020, were targeted, and patent search was conducted using WISDOMAIN search DB. The keywords for patent search were related to experience technology using VR, and a total of 1,013 data were obtained after creating a search formula by combining the derived keywords. Among them, a total of 65 data were extracted from the result of selecting valid patents, and a political analysis was conducted on them. Looking at the overall application trend, most of Korean patent applications accounted for, and noise patents are system-related devices to implement VR technology. The United States and Europe are focused on developing augmented reality(AR) technology, the study found. The technology of VR experience has increased rapidly since 2017, and the technology growth stage is the period from the beginning to the growth stage. As a result of examining the valid patents related to VR experience, technology was searched in various fields such as rural tour, exhibition, education, and performance, and patents for contents writing and general virtual experience related technology were also searched. If we predict the possibility of development of VR industry in the future, it is necessary to respond to preemption of intellectual property rights by proceeding technology development and patent application for more diverse fields.

We conducted research on the technical definition of anti-drone, the technical elements of anti-drone systems, and investigated the patents related to anti-drone and drone filed domestically and internationally over the past 10 years, starting from 2011. For domestic patents, we examined the number of patent applications related to anti-drone and the overall domestic patent applications over the past 10 years. Regarding international filings, we investigated the patent applications related to anti-drone filed in the United States, Europe, Japan, China, and under the PCT system in the past 10 years. We conducted a search for patents related to anti-drone, including neutralization techniques identified under the keyword "anti-drone," patents related to drone detection and identification techniques, and patents related to drone neutralization techniques. Through the conducted research, a total of 91 patents were filed for drone detection techniques. Out of these, 5 patents, accounting for 5.5%, were filed by public institutions. In the case of patents filed for drone identification techniques, there were a total of 174 patents. Among these, 4 patents, which is 2.3%, were filed by public institutions.
