섬유제품 상변화물질 관련 특허통계 분석을 통한 한국과 미국의 기술개발동향 - 특허정보검색 중심으로 - (PCM Technology Development Trends of Korea and USA by Patent Analysis of Phase Change Material Related to Textile Products)

  • Phase change material-related patents filed at Korea Institute of Patent Information(KIPI) and United States Patent and Trademark Office(USPTO) were analyzed for understanding the PCM's technological level of Korea and providing the information for establishing the research development policy concerned with high technology fibers. Patent data from 1980 to 2005 collected from KIPI and USPTO internet sites were examined using the number of patents and share of assignees in patents. The contents of patent were classified according to IPC(International Patent Classification) and assignees were divided into individual and firm/public body. The results of comparing total number of patents in USA with that in Korea showed USA had as 2.3 times as Korea had. The number of patents of USA had increased steadily since 1980 whereas that of Korea sharply since 2001. The number of patents of Korea from 2001 to 2005 was more than that of USA. USA was specialized in fundamental technology and Korea was specialized in application area with PCM. Assignees who had the most patents were firms and the next were individuals. Assignees who applied for several patents were more in USA than in Korea and patent application numbers per the assignees were higher for USA.

  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution has spurred widespread adoption of AI-based services, driving global interest in AI semiconductors for efficient large-scale computation. Text mining research, historically using LDA, has evolved with machine learning integration, exemplified by the 2021 BERTopic technology. This study employs BERTopic to analyze AI semiconductor-related patents and research data, generating 48 topics from 2,256 patents and 40 topics from 1,112 publications. While providing valuable insights into technology trends, the study acknowledges limitations in taking a macro approach to the entire AI semiconductor industry. Future research may explore specific technologies for more nuanced insights as the industry matures.

  • 특허분석은 전 세계적으로 축적된 특허 데이터베이스로부터 기업의 연구개발 전략에 필요한 지식을 추출하는 것이다. 현재까지 특허출원 결과를 분석하여 해당기술에 대한 기술동향과 전개과정을 파악하여 향후 개발될 기술에 대한 방향정립을 위하여 특허분석은 필요한 결과를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 특허분석과 관련된 방법 및 시스템에 대한 기술 분류를 수행하고 관련된 국내특허와 미국특허, 그리고 IEEE 논문을 조사하고 분석한다. 특허분석시스템은 기술 분야의 특성상 특허출원뿐만 아니라 연구결과의 논문발표도 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서 선정된 검색어를 통하여 최종적으로 검색된 결과를 이용하여 기술 분류에 따른 분석을 실시한다. 유효한 전체 특허와 논문을 대상으로 특허분석시스템에 필요한 공백기술을 찾아내기 위하여 매트릭스분석을 수행한다. 현재까지 등록된 특허분석시스템에 대한 기술발전 동향을 파악하고 앞으로 필요한 특허분석시스템 관련 기술발전 방향도 제시한다. 통계적 검정과 자기조직화 지도를 이용하여 유효 특허와 논문을 정량적으로 분석하여 국내특허, 미국특허, 그리고 논문 내에서 상대적으로 개발이 취약한 기술을 찾아내고 이에 대한 개발의 필요성도 함께 제시한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 오거비트에 대한 향후 연구개발 방향을 설정하기 위하여 전체 심층혼합처리공법에 대한 한국, 미국, 일본 및 유럽에서의 출원 공개/등록된 특허를 중심으로 특허 동향을 분석하였다. 심층혼합처리공법을 대상으로 기술 범위에 따라 1차적으로 날개 형태와 로드의 개수로 분류하고, 2차적으로 스크류 타입과 회전축의 타입에 따라 8가지로 분류하였다. 특허 검색 결과 총 2,815개가 검색되었으며 중복제거 및 필터링을 통하여 448건의 유효 분석대상 특허를 선별하였다. 특허건수와 성장단계를 통한 포트폴리오 분석 결과 성장가능성이 높다고 판단되는 오거를 핵심기술로 선정하였으며, 이에 대한 특허장벽 분석을 통하여 핵심기술과 유사성이 높은 특허가 있을 경우 회피설계 및 타기술과 차별화된 기술 개발을 할 수 있는 기초자료를 제시하였다.

설진 시스템 특허동향 분석 (Analysis of patent trends of computerized tongue diagnosis systems)

  • Objectives Tongue diagnosis is an important diagnostic method in traditional Eastern medicine, and it has a high potential to be used in the future healthcare because of easy, quick, and non-contact measuring features. Recently, research and development efforts on computerized tongue diagnosis systems (CTDS) have been active that led to the technical advancements in the field of photographing techniques, image extraction and classification algorithms. In this study, we analyzed the trends in the CTDS patents. Using the WIPS search engine (www.wipsglobal.com), quantitative and qualitative patent analyses were performed through Korea, China, Japan, U.S.A and Europe. Methods For a systematic search and data analysis, we defined patent categories based on the application area and technical details. By applying thus-obtained categorical key words, we obtained 360 relevant patents on photographing techniques, image extraction and classification algorithms for the purpose of diagnosis or security. Results As a result, companies related to image acquisition, medical imaging and mobile devices and research groups of universities in East Asia were major patent applicants. In all the five countries, the number of patents have been increasing since 1980. In particular, technology related to color correction and image segmentation were most actively patented categories, and expected to continue a high application rate.

뜸 특허기술 동향분석 (Analysis on trends of moxibustion patents)

  • 1. 뜸 특허의 한국 출원인은 타국가의 특허에 비해 자국내 집중적인 출원 양상을 보이고 있었고 국적별 출원 점유율에서는 한국 국적 출원인이 전체 80%의 출원 점유율을 보였다. 2. 분야별 특허 점유율에서는 뜸구(587건) 26%, 가열수단(495건) 23%, 가열제어(96건) 4%, 제조방법(78건) 및 기타(70건)가 각 3%로 나타났다. 3. 뜸 특허 다출원자로는 한국의 유태우, 김근식이 가장 많았고, 일본에서는 Kamaya Mogusa, Obika Reiko, 미국에서는 유태우, Shimada 및 Osamu 인 것으로 나타났다. 4. 뜸 연소재에서 가장 많은 출원을 한 종류는 ‘쑥’ 이었고, 가열제어 분야의 ‘쑥뜸기’가 가장 많이 출원되었다.

신선 버섯의 수확 후 관리 기술과 관련된 특허 동향 분석 (Patent trend analysis for postharvest technology of fresh mushrooms)

  • 신선 버섯의 수확 후 관리 기술은 2000년대까지 출원의 증가와 감소를 반복하는 경향을 보이다가 2010년대에 들어서 꾸준한 증가세를 나타내고 있어, 신선 농산물의 수확 후 관리 기술이 시대의 흐름에 부합하는 기술임을 알 수 있다. 주요 출원인에 대한 특허출원은 일본이 전체 출원 중에서 가장 많은 특허를 출원하였으며 대부분의 국가에서 내국인의 특허출원 비중이 높게 나타나 자국 중심의 출원 경향을 보이고 있다. 신선 버섯의 수확 후 포장 기술은 초반에 출원인 및 출원 건수가 감소하였다가, 최근 출원인 및 출원 건수가 증가하여 회복기 단계에 있으며, 저장기술은 최근 출원인 수와 출원 건수가 대폭 증가하여 성장기의 단계로 평가된다. 신선 버섯의 수확 후 관리 기술은 주로 다국적 기업과 국가 연구기관에서 다수의 특허를 보유하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 해당 기술의 연구개발 및 상업화가 활발하게 이루어지고 있음을 시사하였다.

Analysis and Examination of Trends in Research on Medical Learning Support Tools: Focus on Problem-based Learning (PBL) and Medical Simulations

  • Objectives: By grasping trends in research, technology, and general characteristics of learning support tools, this study was conducted to present a model for research on Korean Medicine (KM) to make use of information technology to support teaching and learning. The purpose is to improve the future clinical competence of medical personnel, which is directly linked to national health. Methods: With papers and patents published up to 2011 as the objects, 438 papers were extracted from "Web of Science" and 313 patents were extracted from the WIPS database (DB). Descriptive analysis and network analysis were conducted on the annual developments, academic journals, and research fields of the papers, patents searched were subjected to quantitative analysis per application year, nation, and technology, and an activity index (AI) was calculated. Results: First, research on medical learning support tools has continued to increase and is active in the fields of computer engineering, education research, and surgery. Second, the largest number of patent applications on medical learning support tools were made in the United States, South Korea, and Japan in this order, and the securement of remediation technology-centered patents, rather than basic/essential patents, seemed possible. Third, when the results of the analysis of research trends were comprehensively analyzed, international research on e-PBL- and medical simulation-centered medical learning support tools was seen to expand continuously to improve the clinical competence of medical personnel, which is directly linked to national health. Conclusions: The KM learning support tool model proposed in the present study is expected to be applicable to computer-based tests at KM schools and to be able to replace certain functions of national KM doctor license examinations once its problem DB, e-PBL, and TKM simulator have been constructed. This learning support tool will undergo a standardization process in the future.

R&D투입요소를 이용한 특허예측모형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Forecasting Model for Patent Using R&D Inputs)

  • Patents often serve as leading indicators of technological change. This patenting activity reflected R&D (Research & Development) of new technology. The purpose of this study is to set up a forecasting model that anticipate the number of domestic patent applications and the number of patents granted relating to R&D inputs (R&D expenditure, R&D manpower) at the level of three industrial sectors in Korea : electrical-electronic, machinery, chemical etc. In this study, forecasting models were used trend extrapolation and a set of regressions. Both Theil's inequality coefficient and MAE(Mean Absolute Error) were utilized to test the precision of predicted value. The patent data and the R&D data were based on Indicators of Industrial Technology data throught 1980 to 1996. The major results obtained in this study are as follows (1) The regression model is more useful for forecasting the trends of the number of patent applications and patents granted than the trend extrapolation method. (2) The variance of Theil's inequality is smaller in patent applications than in patent granted.

특허분석을 통한 경혈 자극 기술에 대한 고찰 (Review on the Stimulating Technologies of Acupuncture Points in the Patents)

  • Objectives : We have examined and analyzed patents regarding acupuncture point stimulating methods in order to understand the stimulation technology and research trends of acupuncture points. Methods : We searched and analyzed the total of 135 on-line DB based patents under time limit of Dec, 2010. Results : According to the analyzed results, non-invasive method is used more than invasive method. Electric stimulation is used more than any other method, such as magnetic, ionic, laser, light, ultrasonic, water, Far IR and thermal stimulation. There are numbers of cases such as rejected during screening procedure, waived before the screening, of failed to renew its registrational status which outnumber those patents registered and maintained. Conclusions : These data suggest that we need to move away from using one side method such as non-invasive and electrical method. Thus follow-up service is recommended.
